After Xu Jia sent the WeChat message to Shen Zhirou, she didn’t plan on waiting with Zhou Jiayu for a response.
“If she wants to add you back on WeChat, she’ll pull you out of the blacklist. If she doesn’t, I hope you won’t disturb her further. As for her phone number, I don’t have it either. We usually just contact each other via WeChat,” Xu Jia said, ready to leave.
She didn’t display much friendliness toward Zhou Jiayu.
She still had some doubts about the whole thing with Zhou Jiayu using Lu Fanghuai’s name, so when he asked for Shen Zhirou’s address and the name of the complex, her first instinct was to refuse to let him come upstairs and instead came down herself.
Zhou Jiayu nodded to show he understood. “Do you know where she works?”
Xu Jia shook her head, “I don’t know. Her work location isn’t fixed. She left early this morning.”
She had seen Shen Zhirou’s message on the small blackboard at the entrance saying she was going on a business trip for a day and would be back tomorrow.
“What does she do?”
“She’s a model,” Xu Jia replied, giving Zhou Jiayu a wary look. She wondered how he could be dating Shen Zhirou and not even know her job. She even started to doubt if he was really her boyfriend.
Ignoring Zhou Jiayu, Xu Jia quickly left for work.
As she walked away, she sent another WeChat message to Shen Zhirou.
Xu Jia: “Are you sure you know him?”
—
On the bus.
Shen Zhirou had been sleeping for a while.
Her phone vibrated in her hand, waking her up. She slowly opened her eyes and checked the time.
She had slept just the right amount of time and would soon reach her destination.
She opened WeChat and glanced at it.
Seeing Xu Jia’s photo made her heart skip a beat.
Her gaze lingered on the photo for a while before she looked at the two messages below.
Zhou Jiayu?
Lu Fanghuai?
She had seen both names yesterday.
When a stranger’s WeChat account requested to add her as a friend, these names were mentioned several times in the verification notes.
Shen Zhirou just felt that this “Lu Fanghuai,” knowing she had discovered his marriage, was trying to use another name to continue deceiving her.
“‘I am Lu Fanghuai, but not the Lu Fanghuai you know.’ Isn’t that nonsense!”
She was truly surprised that he had managed to find Xu Jia!
Thinking it over carefully, Shen Zhirou found it a bit terrifying. During their time together, she had not revealed much personal information to him.
Shen Zhirou: “I don’t know him. Don’t pay attention to him.”
Shen Zhirou: “Keep an eye out to see if this creep is stalking you recently.”
Her remaining goodwill toward “Lu Fanghuai” plummeted to zero—a married scumbag who might even stalk people…
Xu Jia, upon receiving Shen Zhirou’s reply, immediately asked, “Should I call the police?”
Shen Zhirou: “Can we report to the police without proof that he’s stalking us?”
Xu Jia: “Alright, let’s leave it for now. If we get evidence, we can talk about it then. He asked where you work today, and I said I didn’t know. By the way, where are you today?”
Shen Zhirou: “At a hot spring resort in a nearby city.”
Xu Jia: “Be careful.”
Shen Zhirou sent a “Got it” sticker to Xu Jia.
As soon as she locked her phone screen, she noticed Xiong Hao sitting next to her.
He handed her a drink, “Didn’t sleep well last night?”
“Mm.”
“Stayed up chatting with your boyfriend?” Xiong Hao asked while sipping his drink, sneaking a glance at her.
“No, we broke up.” Shen Zhirou forced a smile and took a small sip from her drink.
Xiong Hao paused mid-twist of his bottle cap, “We’ll be arriving soon. Just follow me.”
Shen Zhirou nodded to show she understood.
Only after boarding the bus did she realize that everyone else was from the swimsuit company. She was the only non-contracted model. Usually, they wouldn’t hire an extra part-time model. She wondered how Xiong Hao managed to arrange this.
Of course, Xiong Hao wouldn’t tell her that he used his personal connections to get her included. He also had to personally cover the cost of her stay for the hot spring resort day trip.

Hotel.
Zhou Jiayu had been waiting at Lu Fanghuai’s place for a long time without any news from Xu Jia, making him anxious.
He couldn’t help but send a WeChat message to Xu Jia: “What did she say?”
As soon as the message was sent, he saw the notification asking for friend verification.
He had been deleted from her WeChat contacts.
Zhou Jiayu: “…”
Next to him, Lu Fanghuai and Fang Wenting were puzzled, “Why did she delete you again? Lao Zhou, what’s wrong with your character?”
Zhou Jiayu wanted to know what was wrong with his character too!
Besides using Lu Fanghuai’s name to deceive Shen Zhirou…
At that time, didn’t he think Shen Zhirou was going to ruin their marriage?
Fortunately, they still had Zhang Junyao and Xu Yunze to rely on.
After finding out Xu Jia’s location from Xu Yunze, Zhou Jiayu decided to go find her again.
Xu Jia never expected Zhou Jiayu to find her workplace.
Seeing Lu Fanghuai and Fang Wenting accompany him, and then watching as Lu Fanghuai showed his ID to prove his identity and video called Zhang Junyao right in front of her, Xu Jia finally understood what was going on and why Zhou Jiayu had appeared at the residential complex that morning.
He wasn’t a stalker—it was just a coincidence. Zhou Jiayu had just found the complex and didn’t know which unit they lived in, so he called to confirm the name of the complex.
Xu Jia added Zhou Jiayu back on WeChat and helped take a photo of his and Lu Fanghuai’s IDs to send to Shen Zhirou.
“I deleted you because she said she didn’t know you. Why are you using a married man’s name to deceive people? Is it more exciting to play with girls using a husband’s identity?” Xu Jia taunted.
Zhou Jiayu: “…”
“She hasn’t replied. She must be busy. I’m also busy and don’t have time to keep responding to your WeChat messages. If she still doesn’t contact you, just give up.”
Give up? No way!
As Xu Jia left, Zhou Jiayu immediately got back in the car.
Lu Fanghuai and Fang Wenting followed, initially intending to comfort Zhou Jiayu, but he said, “Get out of the car. I’m not going back to the hotel.”
“Where are you going if not the hotel? I didn’t drive. Are you making us walk back?” Lu Fanghuai ignored Zhou Jiayu’s words and buckled Fang Wenting’s seatbelt.
“Take a taxi back. I’m going to the neighboring city. Get out.” Zhou Jiayu glanced at them.
“Why are you going to the neighboring city?” Lu Fanghuai persisted.
“She’s at a hot spring resort there!”
“How do you know?”
“I saw it in Xu Jia’s WeChat messages just now. It said she was there,” Zhou Jiayu had managed to sneak a peek when Xu Jia was about to take a picture.
