“Wow, cheating?”
Lu Fanghuai broke the silence.
He turned to look at Zhou Jiayu, pulling Fang Wenting to the side.
“Wow, drama?” Fang Wenting pushed Lu Fanghuai further to the side, giving Zhou Jiayu a clear view of the elevator scene.
Zhou Jiayu could clearly see the situation inside thanks to their gesture!
The elevator door was about to close.
Bam—
A strong hand wedged into the gap, forcefully pushing the elevator door open with great momentum.
Shen Zhirou, startled, snapped out of it and quickly pulled her hand out of Xiong Hao’s grasp, pushing him away from her.
She had intended to reject Xiong Hao’s affection, but the opening of the elevator door interrupted her. Before she could say anything, she heard Zhou Jiayu’s sharp voice, “Get out.”
When the elevator door opened again, Zhou Jiayu saw Shen Zhirou looking up at Xiong Hao, which made him even more anxious than seeing them holding hands.
He was afraid Shen Zhirou might actually have feelings for Xiong Hao!
He deeply regretted that he got distracted talking to Lu Fanghuai in the hotel lobby, causing him to lose track of Shen Zhirou.
If he hadn’t lost her, if he hadn’t waited in the lobby all this time, he wouldn’t have given Xiong Hao the chance to be alone with her!
Zhou Jiayu’s hand on the elevator door was clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white, showing his anger.
The elevator began beeping a warning.
Just as Shen Zhirou was about to step out, Zhou Jiayu stepped inside.
With him moving, Lu Fanghuai and Fang Wenting, who were watching from the side, also moved.
“We’ll take the next one. Buddy, if you’ve reached your floor, get out. What are you waiting for? You’ve said your piece; it’s our Lao Zhou’s turn to talk now.” Lu Fanghuai said as he stepped inside, casually placing a hand on Xiong Hao’s shoulder and leading him out.
“Yeah, yeah, if we meet, we’re destined to be friends. Let’s get to know each other.” Fang Wenting, in sync with Lu Fanghuai, pushed Xiong Hao’s back, forcing him out of the elevator.
Xiong Hao found them inexplicably strange and was about to get angry, but Lu Fanghuai quickly raised his hand, stepped back, and distanced himself.
“Buddy, such a big temper. Seems like you don’t want to be friends. Well, let’s go, dear. We’ll take the next elevator and head to the restaurant for some good food.”
Xiong Hao: “…”
By the time he turned around, Zhou Jiayu and Shen Zhirou had already gone up.
Inside the elevator, the atmosphere was heavy, making it hard to breathe.
Shen Zhirou clutched her sleeve tightly, not daring to look at Zhou Jiayu.
The intimidating aura he emitted filled the elevator with tension.
The elevator stopped on the sixth floor, the floor Zhou Jiayu had pressed earlier.
The door opened, and without a word, he walked out.
Shen Zhirou wanted to call out to him, but the words got stuck in her throat.
Just as one foot was about to step out, he turned back.
“Let’s talk. My room is 608.”
He looked at her, took her clenched hand, and blocked the elevator door with his foot. “Don’t want to go? Then let’s go to your place. What floor?”
Retracting his foot, he reached for the elevator buttons. “Which floor?”
“Eight,” Shen Zhirou answered, watching him press the button.
He held her hand tightly, intertwining his fingers with hers.
When the elevator door opened again, he led her out. “Which room?”
“8134.”
He paused, glanced at the room directions, and then led her straight to her room.
Shen Zhirou was practically dragged along until they reached her room. Even while unlocking the door, he didn’t let go of her hand, leading her inside.
The door closed behind them.
Shen Zhirou still held the room card, ready to insert it to turn on the lights, but he pulled her sharply, making her drop the card.
She fell into his arms, and his arm wrapped tightly around her waist.
In an instant, Zhou Jiayu seemed like a wild beast, kissing her fiercely and urgently, catching her off guard.
She tried to evade, but he pressed her against the door, giving her no escape.
His tongue traced her teeth, seeking entry.
He pinched her waist, making her gasp, allowing him to enter, exploring her mouth until she softened in his arms.
“That guy likes you.” Zhou Jiayu whispered against her lips, unable to hide his jealousy.
Shen Zhirou turned her face away. “Are you saying I cheated?”
She felt his words implied as much.
In the elevator, she remained silent, her mind chaotic, thinking they were probably broken up. If so, she didn’t need to explain, especially since she had no intention of accepting Xiong Hao’s affection.
Now, he brought it up suddenly, not asking about what happened but concluding it for her.
Wasn’t this acknowledging Lu Fanghuai’s accusation of cheating?
Shen Zhirou felt angry.
Even more so when Zhou Jiayu asked, “Did you cheat?”
She immediately wanted to push him away, but their strength was too unequal, and he pinned her hands behind her back, trapping her further.
“Think what you want,” she said angrily, struggling to break free.
He suddenly released her.
She looked at Zhou Jiayu’s eyes, slightly red.
His gaze seemed a bit low.
He leaned his head on her shoulder for a moment, sighed heavily, then raised his face. “Can’t you not like that guy?”
After a pause, he continued, “I can explain everything. I came to find you to tell you the truth. I didn’t lie to you on purpose.”
He explained, “I thought you seeking out Lu Fanghuai wasn’t good, so I used his name to see what you were up to, and I fell for you at first sight.”
Shen Zhirou remained silent, worried he might ask why she sought Lu Fanghuai.
Suddenly, she felt guilty.
Who would’ve thought she’d mistake him, only for it to turn out right in the end!
“Can you not like that guy and consider me instead?” Zhou Jiayu sincerely confessed.
