Chapter 30
The couple who had just successfully held hands walked down the stairs in silence. Qing Liu withdrew her hand from Han Luofeng’s arm and, feeling guilty, said, “I’m sorry, it’s all a misunderstanding.”
Han Luofeng stared at her for a few seconds before nodding. “It’s alright, I understand.”
Qing Liu uncertainly asked, “You’re sure you understand?”
Han Luofeng gave a half-smile. “So you’re using me as a shield, huh?”
Qing Liu awkwardly nodded.
Han Luofeng: “……”
He was even more annoyed.
However, Han Luofeng calmly thought to himself, this was just how little cat was—carefree and heartless. To pursue her, you had to be very thoughtful and very proactive.
Because once you stop chasing after the little cat, she might immediately stick to someone else. She was very disobedient.
“Let’s go.”
Han Luofeng said quietly, “Let’s go on the date first, and we can talk after the show ends.”
Qing Liu nodded. According to the program’s arrangement, they went to a restaurant for a candlelight dinner, and then went to an outdoor terrace to watch the stars. They looked like a real couple on a date.
The viewers in the live stream were ecstatic, while in reality, Qing Liu felt so embarrassed that she wished she could fast-forward the time.
Originally, she could have gotten along just fine with the golden tiger, but once she found out he liked her, everything immediately felt different.
She didn’t even dare to make eye contact with Han Luofeng, and holding hands was out of the question. However, she didn’t feel guilty. After all, she had made her feelings clear, and she figured Han Luofeng was probably regretting it by now.
Once the live broadcast ended tomorrow, they would go their separate ways. Anyway, they will never see each other again.
By evening, the live broadcast ended, and the seven-day fluffy love variety show was officially completed.
This episode would be edited and then uploaded to StarNet next week. The new season, featuring three new fluffy couples, was already prepared and ready to take over the broadcast.
The staff came over to bid farewell to the guests. As expected, this would be their most popular episode of the year.
From the first day the live stream aired, their “destined match” had been trending on the hot search, and even now, it was still on the trending list.
The little cat’s popularity soared, and with Qing Liu’s successful image redemption, her fan count grew rapidly. Several variety shows and advertising companies had already contacted her agency, requesting to collaborate with her.
However, Qing Liu was not aware of this, and she had no intention of continuing her career as an entertainer. After all, her previous manager, Lilith, had disgusted her enough.
Finally, after the show ended, Qing Liu immediately changed her clothes, packed her things, and was ready to leave.
As soon as she stepped out of the villa, she saw all three men standing at the door, clearly waiting for her.
Han Luofeng walked over and, seeing that she had changed into casual clothes, softly said, “Can I take you home?”
Qing Liu hesitated for a moment, and then saw Eric standing beside him. With a faint expression, he said, “Mr. Han, the show’s over, no need to keep pretending.”
Chester also said, “Yeah, Qing Liu doesn’t like you, so it’s not really good to keep pestering her, right?”
Han Luofeng frowned. “This is between us. What does it have to do with you?”
Besides, even if Qing Liu didn’t like him, it didn’t mean she liked them either. How could they mock him?
At least he had gotten Qing Liu’s chocolate, and they had officially become a couple and gone on a date together!
Han Luofeng was already in a bad mood, and seeing these two [1]“Stirring the pot” means deliberately causing trouble, tension, or drama, often by saying or doing something provocative to upset people or spark an argument. stirring the pot only made him more frustrated.
He took the chocolate that Qing Liu had given him out of his personal terminal and waved it in front of the other two men, saying, “The chocolate seems to be melting a bit, I should probably put it in the fridge.”
As he spoke, he handed the chocolate to his assistant.
Chester, feeling incredibly jealous, sourly said, “The weather is so cool, and it’s still melting? If you want to show off, just say it. Don’t think I’ll be jealous…”
Qing Liu saw that they were about to start arguing again, and she didn’t dare to stay any longer. Just then, she saw the head manager, Michelle, coming down from the aircraft. Remembering that she still had things to discuss with Michelle, she quickly said her goodbyes: “I have some things to take care of, so I’ll leave first. Goodbye.”
After saying that, she didn’t even dare to look at their expressions and quickly turned around to run off.
After running a few steps, her wristband’s smart brain lit up, and when she opened it, she saw a message from Eric: “If you need any help with company matters, feel free to come to me. I have the best lawyer team in the entire star system.”
He wasn’t boasting. As a top-tier family from the Sky City, Eric’s ancestors were all lawyers. They had made their fortune in the legal profession. Though Eric himself no longer practiced law, his family owned the most powerful law firm in the system, with sky-high commission fees.
Qing Liu hadn’t expected Eric to be so helpful, even after she had rejected him.
Eric was really a kind-hearted person!
Although Qing Liu was grateful, she still felt quite awkward around Eric, especially after rejecting him.
Since she didn’t have any feelings for him, she certainly wasn’t going to continue accepting his kindness.
So, Qing Liu politely replied, “Really? That’s so kind of you! You’re such a good person!”
After sending Eric a polite thank-you message, she closed the smart terminal, even feeling a bit embarrassed by her response.
But Eric was a mature and composed man—he surely understood her meaning!
Michelle was indeed here to pick up Qing Liu. The incident with Lilith had caused a huge stir, and in order to salvage their reputation and image, the company had fired Lilith, placing all the blame on her, claiming that they were completely unaware of Lilith’s actions and that the company itself was a victim.
Although the audience wasn’t entirely convinced by this, the fact that the argument between Lilith and Qing Liu had been broadcast live meant that the audience held a lot of resentment towards Lilith.
Now that Lilith had been fired, the company was planning to bring Qing Liu back and promote her properly. As long as she cooperated with the company’s plans, the audience would soon forgive them, and Qing Liu would rise even higher with the company’s support.
In fact, Michelle was willing to support Qing Liu. A person of Qing Liu’s background was easy to manage—she didn’t have any powerful backers and her spiritual strength was weak. In order to stay on the main star to live and work, she was willing to make many sacrifices.
Lilith failed because she never allowed Qing Liu to experience the benefits of cooperation, and instead, she constantly criticized and belittled her.
Michelle walked over and glanced at the three men still standing at the villa door, watching Qing Liu leave. She asked, “Are you going back to the company or to the dormitory?”
Qing Liu hadn’t graduated yet and had been staying in the school dormitory, but now, going back seemed inappropriate. After all, she was no longer the insignificant person she used to be.
Qing Liu paused for a moment and then asked Michelle, “Do you think it’s appropriate for me to go back to the dormitory with my current popularity?”
Michelle led Qing Liu onto the aircraft, and when she heard the question, she raised an eyebrow and asked, “Then back to the company?”
Qing Liu checked the time, it was already past seven in the evening. She then said, “At this time, you want me to go back to the company? I just finished work, and you want me to go back and work overtime?”
Michelle: “……”
As the top manager in the company, it had been a long time since anyone dared to speak to her like this, especially an artist. No matter their rank, whenever they saw her, they would obediently call her “sister,” never speaking so bluntly.
Michelle paused for a moment and said, “Then do you have a place you want to go?”
Qing Liu sighed and gave Michelle a helpless look, feeling that she was truly oblivious. She had never met such an unskilled manager.
Qing Liu said, “Don’t you think you should find me a place to stay? With my current popularity, I should at least…”
She glanced at the Sky City in the moonlight, which was growing farther away, and added, “At the very least, it should be somewhere at the Sky City level, right?”
Michelle: “……”
“Sky City?”
She was a bit shocked. What kind of place was that? Even the top artists in the company could only rent a small apartment there.
The rent was so high that it was impossible for the company to provide such a large investment. Besides, there were places on the ground to live in.
Qing Liu wasn’t exactly clear on the prices of Sky City, although she knew it was expensive. However, if Michelle was intentionally acting clueless and not arranging accommodation for her, perhaps trying to teach her a lesson, she was mistaken.
After all, Qing Liu wasn’t the original owner of the body—she had thick skin and wasn’t afraid of Michelle, nor was she afraid of not being able to stay on the main star.
As expected, once a person had no weaknesses, they became invincible.
Michelle snorted coldly. “Do you know how much the rent for a regular apartment in Sky City is per day in star coins? Since you came from a remote star, it’s understandable you don’t know. After all, Lilith’s work mistake left you without proper training courses. Don’t worry, I’ll arrange them for you later, and you’ll know. But remember, don’t casually tell people you want to live in Sky City in the future, or people will laugh you to death.”
Qing Liu raised an eyebrow and said, “Hmm? Why can’t I say that? The three men who confessed to me are all from Sky City. If I just pick one to be with, I could live in a sky villa, right?”
Michelle: “……”
At this point, Michelle couldn’t help but feel a little jealous.
She coldly said, “Stop thinking about nonsense. They’re just doing it for the show. You don’t actually believe they’d like someone like you, with your background, just because they come from top-tier wealthy families… What are you doing?”
Michelle was stunned as she stared at Qing Liu’s intelligent brain device.
On the screen of Qing Liu’s intelligent brain, the StarNet webpage was open, and Qing Liu was typing: “The live broadcast has finally ended, I’m so tired. The company sent someone to pick me up, but didn’t arrange any accommodation. Does anyone kind-hearted want to take in a homeless cat?”
Michelle saw that Qing Liu was about to press send, and immediately grabbed her hand, gritting her teeth, “What are you doing? Don’t you think the company has enough trouble already?”
Qing Liu pretended to be wronged and said, “But I don’t have anywhere to stay, and you’re not taking care of me.”
Michelle was about to collapse. “You’re even recording this! What’s there to record!”
“Alright, alright, I get it,”
She gritted her teeth and tried to calm down. “I’ll book you two nights at a sky hotel for now, and I’ll arrange proper accommodation for you later. Before that, you better behave and don’t cause trouble, got it?”
Qing Liu looked at the aircraft heading back to Sky City, turned off the StarNet, and obediently said, “Alright, no problem!”
