Chapter 40
Chester cleverly misled Eric with his ‘wisdom.’
In fact, after the dating show ended, Eric had felt that his chances were slim, as Qing Liu clearly seemed to be uncomfortable with him due to the incident where he was splashed with wine at the banquet. It was awkward even for her to meet him, and such a rift was hard to mend.
Although Eric had also managed to stay next door to the hotel where Qing Liu was staying, it seemed now that Qing Liu liked Han Luofeng more.
The Han family and Eric’s family were nearly on equal footing, and as someone older than Han Luofeng, Eric obviously wasn’t willing to give up easily.
He wasn’t going to let his rival win too smoothly.
So, after thinking about all this and hearing Chester’s suggestion, Eric agreed.
The two of them still had the impression of dating shows based on “Destined Match,” and instinctively thought that a dating show should be about pairing up, with several couples living together in a spacious villa, cooking, chatting, and doing various activities together.
Eric hesitated and nodded. Before he could say much more, Chester had already hurriedly hung up the phone and rushed to contact the production team.
So, when the show officially started, Han Luofeng looked at the guest list released by the production team and nearly laughed himself to death.
The little cat lay lazily on the windowsill, basking in the sun. Since Han Luofeng brought her back to this villa, she had been living here without leaving.
This was because Han Luofeng had said that this villa was arranged as her residence, and she would be living here long-term from now on!
Coincidentally, the live broadcast of “First Heartbeat” was about to begin, so the two of them were just going to stay here.
Han Luofeng walked over to the windowsill with the open holographic screen in his hand and said to the little cat, “Look.”
He handed her the hologram, and the little cat lazily opened her eyes and glanced at it, immediately getting startled awake!
“Meow?”
Qing Liu was so shocked that she almost spoke human words.
“They’re a couple?!”
Qing Liu was completely stunned, almost falling off the windowsill.
What Han Luofeng had opened was the guest list posted by the production team on the Star Network. Chester and Eric’s photos were edited together, along with their profiles, confirming that these two were indeed a couple, no mistake!
Guests were not allowed to check the Star Network or watch the live broadcast during the show, so as soon as Han Luofeng received the information, he immediately opened the Star Network and quickly showed it to the little cat.
Seeing the little cat’s shocked expression, Han Luofeng was pleased and, holding back his amusement, closed the Star Network.
Originally, his plan was for the “Platinum CP” he formed with the little cat to become the highlight of the show, and as soon as the guest list was released, they would trend on social media. At that point, the studio would spend some money to manage the publicity, and with the heat generated, they could easily push Qing Liu into the limelight. Once she gained enough fame, her future work would be much easier to arrange and select.
But then this happened, and the hot search was almost completely monopolized by these two idiots.
However, Han Luofeng was not angry at all. In fact, he was quite pleased.
Eric was clearly not the type of person with this level of intelligence. It seemed that the big, silly bear’s fighting ability should not be underestimated. He had successfully lowered Eric’s IQ all on his own.
Impressive!
Han Luofeng looked at the still-shocked little cat. She was so stunned that she crouched there for quite a while without moving. Her emerald-green cat eyes were wide open, and her mouth was slightly ajar, revealing her pink tongue.
Seeing her like this, Han Luofeng couldn’t resist reaching out to gently rub her fluffy head, speaking in a soft voice, “Looks like the confession part last time was really for the sake of the show.”
The little cat, still in shock, nodded and responded, “Meow!”
“I knew it!” she exclaimed.
She had said that once those two found out her true identity, they would never confess to her again! After all, public figures like them would definitely care about their image!
But they confessed anyway!
If it hadn’t been for the production team’s direction, she would have had a hard time believing it.
Now it was clear—those two were a couple! But, but, but, when the show was live, she didn’t see on it at all!
At that time, the silly bear kept sticking to her, while the snow eagle spent most of his time sitting on the big tree outside the door. They barely interacted at all!
Qing Liu couldn’t make sense of it at all.
Han Luofeng said, somewhat insincerely, “I didn’t expect them to…”
He paused for a moment, held back his smile, coughed a couple of times, and then said, “I didn’t expect them to be a couple. I’m also very surprised.”
That was actually true, he was very surprised, though he really wanted to laugh.
“Forget it, let’s not talk about them,” he said.
Han Luofeng put away his smart device, reached out, and gently picked up the little cat. “The production crew should be here soon.”
He placed the cat into the pocket of his shirt. He had intentionally worn a dark green shirt today, and the chest pocket was just the right size to carry the little cat.
The little cat, with her pure white fur and green eyes, looked perfect against the color of his shirt.
As Han Luofeng came downstairs, the staff from the production team had arrived.
As soon as the door opened, a female staff member entered, holding two round live-streaming cameras. “Sorry to interrupt.”
The staff member was so excited. She was a fan of the “Platinum CP.” Seeing Han Luofeng up close and the little cat curled in his shirt pocket almost made her faint with excitement.
She nervously greeted the two of them. Han Luofeng gave a polite nod, while the little cat lazily stretched and yawned before waving her paw at the staff member and softly meowing.
The staff had known in advance that she was in cat form, so she brought a translator. Seeing the little cat’s adorable appearance, she was so thrilled she could hardly contain herself. “Hello! Hello! The little cat is so cute!”
The viewers on the live stream, who hadn’t seen the little cat in a few days, were also excited. At this moment, seeing the soft little cat waving her paw up close from the staff’s perspective, they shared the same level of enthusiasm.
The live stream room was filled with “Ahhhhhh!”
【It’s been a few days, and I really miss the little cat!】
【The little cat really went from hardship to happiness after meeting Young Master Han! I hope Young Master Han arranges for her a reliable manager!】
【Wuwuwuwu, I used to ship the bear and the little cat, but I didn’t expect the bear to be gay…】
【Hahahaha, I just came from the bear’s live stream next door. I won’t tell you, but they’re fighting right now.】
【What? This happened! Little cat, wait for me, I’ll finish this gossip and come back to watch you!】
—
They have to admit, Eric and Chester really stole a lot of attention.
Although many people liked Han Luofeng and the little cat, they couldn’t help but rush to watch Eric and Chester, this beastly duo. They were really too eye-catching.
People with stronger mental powers generally choose partners who are somewhat weaker, because when two equally powerful people are together, their mental powers will inevitably clash. Partners also have the responsibility to comfort each other’s mental states. A strong mental power is suited for attacking, not for comforting.
Therefore, when these two mentally strong beasts of the same gender became a couple, it was really too much of a spectacle.
Everyone couldn’t believe it, but they wanted to watch the drama unfold, so they rushed to their live stream.
In fact, Eric had already toned it down a lot for the live stream.
As Qing Liu had guessed, they both cared about their image and wouldn’t really start fighting in front of billions of viewers.
However, Eric was really angry, so before the live stream even began, he had already fought with Chester several times.
Taking advantage of his age and experience, the bear had been miserably beaten a few times.
Chester felt extremely guilty and was in a bad mood.
“Damn it, I told you, the production team lied to me! They never told the guests they’d be separated for the live stream!”
Chester was furious and questioned the staff who came to interview him in front of the live stream audience: “Why didn’t you tell me about this rule in advance?”
The staff were startled by his outburst and nervously replied, “Mr. Chester, you communicated directly with the director. The director should have… mentioned it to you?”
Chester was speechless. “He didn’t say anything!”
Of course, the director hadn’t mentioned it. When he heard that the snow eagle and the brown bear were a couple and would actively join his variety show, he was so excited that he almost fainted—he didn’t remember to mention such details!
He kept nodding, agreeing to everything Chester said, and didn’t think about anything else.
It could be said that the director really believed that Eric and Chester were a couple.
