Miss Li Er also cried out, “Father, no matter how wrong Mother was in the past, she is still your wife! How can you abandon her and us for another woman?”
Magistrate Li listened to his children’s pleas, his heart filled with helplessness. He slowly closed his eyes and said in a cold voice, “Your mother must leave the Li household!”
Miss Li Er suddenly stood up. “Father, if you drive Mother away, then we will leave too!”
Young Master Li followed, saying, “That’s right! If Mother goes, we go too!”
Saying this, both of them ran toward Lady Li.
Lady Li embraced her two children tightly. “Husband, for the sake of our children, please don’t divorce me.”
Magistrate Li clenched his fists and said coldly, “Fine, then I’ll leave! I’ll resign from my position as well!”
With that, he turned and walked out.
At that moment, he collided head-on with someone.
It was a middle-aged man, chubby with small eyes.
Magistrate Li was startled. “Li Fu? Why are you back?”
Li Fu had been the steward of the Li household years ago. A few years back, he had left, saying he was returning to his hometown to marry.
Inside, Lady Li heard the voice and hurriedly looked toward the door. Her face was full of shock, her body froze, and she took two steps back.
“Li Fu, why are you here? Didn’t you get married and have children?”
Li Fu shot Lady Li a vicious glare, then suddenly knelt before Magistrate Li. “Master, I have wronged you!”
Magistrate Li was stunned. “Li Fu, what are you talking about?”
Lady Li rushed forward in a panic. “Li Fu!”
But Li Fu clung to Magistrate Li’s robes, crying as he confessed, “Master, I have wronged you! Over ten years ago, the child that Sun Ying carried was never yours—it was mine!”
Magistrate Li was utterly shocked. “What do you mean? What are you saying?”
Lady Li yelled from the side, “Li Fu, stop spouting nonsense!”
“Shut up!” Magistrate Li shouted at her before grabbing Li Fu by the arm and pulling him up. He demanded, “Speak clearly! What do you mean the child isn’t mine?”
Li Fu pointed at Lady Li and accused angrily, “Back then, you were engaged to Miss Liu. Sun Ying wanted to marry you, so she secretly drugged you. But that night, you were too heavily drugged and unconscious, completely unable to do anything to her. In her desperation, she turned to me! That night, it was me she was with! The child in her womb was mine!”
Everyone in the room was stunned.
Young Master Li pointed at himself and asked in disbelief, “Are you saying I am your son?!”
Li Fu nodded firmly.
Magistrate Li stood frozen in place, his mind in a daze. Slowly, he turned to look at Young Master Li and Li Fu.
Now that he was truly paying attention, he realized something—those two looked exactly alike.
Magistrate Li himself was tall, with a lean build, neither too fat nor too thin. His eyes were deep-set and sharp. Lady Li, on the other hand, was petite and slender, with a pair of ordinary almond-shaped eyes.
Yet, his eldest son had been chubby since childhood, and the older he grew, the fatter he became. His eyes were narrow and slanted, always appearing like mere slits.
And Li Fu? He was also plump, with the same narrow, slanted eyes.
In the past, Magistrate Li had assumed his son was simply well-fed, which explained his weight. But now, looking at Li Fu, the truth became glaringly obvious—his son looked like his real father!
Magistrate Li trembled with rage, his entire body shaking. He pointed a quivering finger at Lady Li, his teeth clenched as he spat out, “Well, well! You’ve really outdone yourself! You managed to deceive me for so many years!”
Lady Li shook her head frantically, crying as she pleaded, “No! It’s not like that! He really is your son!”
Magistrate Li flung her off with force and shouted angrily, “We’ll find out soon enough! A blood test will settle this!”
“Servants!” he bellowed, summoning the household staff.
Lady Li hurried after him. “Husband, I swear I didn’t lie to you!”
Magistrate Li’s voice was cold. “If you’re telling the truth, then you shouldn’t be afraid of a blood test!”
The moment Li Fu spoke, it was clear—Lady Li dared not go through with the test.
Young Master Li stood there, stunned.
Beside him, Miss Li ran to her father’s side. “Father! How can you believe an outsider’s words? Don’t you know better than anyone whether Big Brother is truly your son?”
Before anyone could respond, Li Fu spoke again. “Master, the Second Young Miss is also my child.”
Miss Li was the one left shocked this time. “What?”
Before the crowd could even process this revelation, Li Fu rolled up his sleeve and continued, “Sun Ying feared that having just one son might not be enough to secure her position, so she came to me again. At first, I doubted whether the Second Young Miss was mine. But then I saw the birthmark on her arm—it’s identical to mine. She’s definitely my daughter.”
Magistrate Li immediately lowered his gaze and stared at the birthmark on Li Fu’s arm. It was indeed the exact same as the one on his second daughter.
He suddenly whipped his head toward Lady Li, his voice trembling with fury. “You… You truly are something else! My eldest son isn’t mine, and now you’re telling me my second daughter isn’t mine either?! One humiliation wasn’t enough—you had to put a second green hat on my head?!”
