Chapter 8: Attracting Bees and Butterflies
Feng Gaoyuan coldly said, “It’s not a lie, it’s all true. Li Li’s boyfriend loves her very much, and she loves her boyfriend too, Senior!”
At the end, Feng Gaoyuan emphasized the word “Senior,” hoping he would not remain stubborn.
Feng Gaoyuan felt increasingly guilty under her gaze. He touched his nose and muttered, “Dating isn’t marriage. Who says you can’t break up…”
Feng Gaoyuan pushed up her glasses and calmly looked at him. “Senior, as you are my senior, I’ll give you some advice. You shouldn’t mess with Li Li’s boyfriend, and you absolutely can’t mess with him. Don’t do something you’ll regret. If your little thoughts reach him, I can only wish you the best…”
“I…” Feng Gaoyuan was shocked in that instant. What kind of person could make this little sister, who only cared about academics and not anything else, say something like this?
His lips trembled a few times, but he didn’t say anything further.
Feng Gaoyuan glanced at him again, giving her final piece of advice. “Instead of this, you might as well stop now, before anything even begins. This is some advice from your junior, think it over…”
She finished speaking and turned, quickly catching up with the others who had already walked far ahead.
When the group saw her coming, they curiously asked, “Gaoyuan, what were you talking about with Senior? Why isn’t he leaving?”
Feng Gaoyuan smiled, “Nothing, he just remembered he has something else to do and needs to head back for a while.”
The matter was a small incident, and the others paid no attention to it. Su Baili didn’t even turn her head and didn’t dare to wonder where Feng Gaoyuan went, just continuing to walk away with the group, chatting and laughing.
Feng Gaoyuan watched Su Baili’s every move and couldn’t help but curl her lips. Perhaps tonight another boy’s heart would be broken.
But that was fine; she was actually helping Feng Gaoyuan.
Although she didn’t know exactly who Li Li’s boyfriend was, she was sure that he was not someone they ordinary people could mess with.
Besides, their entire dorm had benefited from powerful people, and two of her roommates were often absent-minded. In some matters, it fell on her to step in, ensuring that all unstable factors were removed for the big shot. This was what she should do.
A young lady should live happily every day, free of worries.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t deserve all the things she had received!
Inside the dorm, Su Baili was excitedly rummaging through a bag.
“Here, Manman, this is for you; this one is for Yaning. Gaoyuan, you don’t like these things, so I didn’t bring any for you.” Su Baili divided up the items beside her, “Also, this is the dinner I brought from home. You guys should eat together.”
Qin Yaning shyly rubbed her hands together. “This time, let’s skip it. You’ve already brought us so many nice things…”
Zhou Manman echoed, “Take it back, you’re our good friend. How could we keep accepting your gifts? Just the fact that you thought to bring us dinner makes me happy enough.”
As she spoke, she eagerly opened the layers of lunch boxes, each one full to the brim, as if she were afraid they would go hungry.
Given the portion size, it would take the entire dorm to eat, and the young lady was adhering to her principle of never eating leftovers, which made it even more of a benefit for them.
No one knew how the chef from Su Baili’s family cooked, but the taste was so divine that even leftovers were worth eating.
The flavor was so amazing that Zhou Manman nearly wanted to bite her tongue off in delight.
Su Baili, however, wasn’t happy. She furrowed her beautifully shaped brows and firmly pushed the food into their hands.
“You all said it, we’re good friends. What’s wrong with giving you a little something? Others are hoping their best friends will become rich and support them, but you guys are treating me like an outsider.”
“But the things you’re giving us are too expensive, this really isn’t right…” Qin Yaning quickly glanced at the items in her arms.
As expected, a full set of H-brand skincare products was casually handed out by Su Baili.
The entire set of cosmetics was worth nearly 10,000 yuan—far beyond what they, as poor students, could even dream of affording.
Receiving such gifts once or twice was still bearable, but they never expected this nonchalant young lady, who seemed untouched by the mundane world, to frequently give them such expensive presents…
Who could afford to keep receiving gifts like these? Even if their relationship was close, they couldn’t keep accepting such costly items.
Now, rumors were circulating that the three of them in the dorm were rich second-generation heirs, while the true rich girl, Su Baili, had disappeared from the center of attention, and no one knew anything about her.
Su Baili truly considered them her good friends, and to her, material things were of no importance.
Besides, even if she took a step back, her family had too many of these things piled up, and there was no point in keeping what couldn’t be used. It was better to give them to her friends.
That way, everyone was happy.
