Chapter 155 She’s Actually Willing

After Fu Jude and Wei Guogong left, the Emperor comforted Shu Yuwan, “Yuwan, don’t pay attention to them.”

Shu Yuwan replied, “As long as the Emperor trusts me, I don’t care what they say.”

“However, why did the news from the Palace leak out?” Shu Yuwan asked.

A cold glint flashed in the Emperor’s eyes, “I need to thoroughly clean up the Palace.”

Seeing the situation, Shu Yuwan couldn’t help but smile faintly. “Alright.”

The Emperor nodded in approval.

It had to be acknowledged that Shu Yuwan was quite sharp in political matters. If she were a man, she would have made significant contributions.

Before they could discuss further, Ah Qing reported from outside, “Your Majesty, the two children had arrive.”

Putting the matter aside for the moment, the Emperor said, “Bring them in.”

The two children hurried towards Shu Yuwan.

Shu Yuwan held one child in each arm and pulled them close to her chest, saying, “Wenyue, Mingcheng.”

Seeing the two children, Shu Yuwan’s eyes were filled with a smile that was about to overflow. She noticed the Emperor eagerly watching from the side, so she brought Mingcheng in front of the Emperor and said, “Mingcheng, come and see your father. Your father has missed you these past few days.”

Mingcheng also noticed the Emperor at this moment, his big eyes sparkling with joy. Although he spoke slowly, he enunciated clearly, saying, “I miss you Father Emperor!”

The Emperor couldn’t help but smile, raising his hand to pat Mingcheng’s head, “You’re such a good boy.”

He then turned to the lively Wenyue, who was still in Shu Yuwan’s arms, and beckoned her over, saying, “Wenyue, come here, let me see you.”

Upon hearing the Emperor calling her, Wenyue reluctantly left Shu Yuwan’s embrace and walked to the Emperor’s side, asking, “Father Emperor, what do you want me to do?”

“It’s been a while since I saw the two of you. I missed you both. You two ungrateful children, as soon as you come in, you only have eyes for your mother. Not even a single glance you two didn’t look at me,” the Emperor teased.

Wenyue, a serious five-year-old girl, replied earnestly, “I miss you too. Father Emperor, please get better soon.”

Since the Emperor and Shu Yuwan had agreed to the engagement, the Emperor had been very kind to Wenyue to show that he was a qualified stepfather. He often bought her toys that children loved and played with her, so Wenyue had grown very close to the Emperor and acknowledged him as her father.

Seeing Wenyue’s face, which was becoming more and more like Shu Yuwan’s, the Emperor thought to himself, “Thank goodness this child doesn’t resemble that An Shaoyu.”

After chatting with the two children, the family of four had dinner together at the Palace. Then, Qing Dai led the children back to the Kunde Palace to rest.

Shu Yuwan stayed behind to wait for Doctor Chen to come and check on the Emperor’s current condition.
