Chapter 54 : Why are your elbows turned outward?
Just when Lin Donghua grabbed Jiang Ting and asked her to pay compensation, He Feiyan stepped forward.
“Hey! You still want compensation? It’s good enough that Jiang Yu didn’t ask you for compensation. Duan Yuzhen, how can you be so shameless?”
Duan Yuzhen threw herself into Wen Yan’s arms and cried. When she heard her words, she paused, pretended not to hear, and then started crying again.
He Feiyan didn’t give her face, she had to give her face herself.
If she had behaved herself and reflected on her mistakes behind closed doors, nothing like this would have happened.
“Do you dare to tell everyone how you were fired from the newspaper?”
Wen Yan looked displeased and lightly scolded “Feiyan, you and Yuzhen have been friends for so many years, why are you turning your elbow outward?”
He Feiyan laughed sarcastically, “I can’t afford a friend like that.”
Lin Donghua stood up immediately. No matter how much she and Duan Yuzhen disagreed, she knew to protect her family.
“He Feiyan, how can you talk like that? What did our Yuzhen do to you to make you talk so harshly?”
He Feiyan raised her chin high and straightened her chest.
“Since you won’t say anything, I’ll say a few words for you.”
“Don’t say it!” Duan Yuzhen roared with a ferocious look on her face.
Losing her job was embarrassing enough, and if she told others about it, she would never be able to hold her head up again.
When Lin Hongxia heard the inside story, she spoke anxiously “Feiyan, tell everyone what happened. If Jiang Yu is really wrong, our Jiang Ting is her sister, so we should ask Yuzhen for compensation.”
But if it wasn’t Jiang Yu’s fault, then Jiang Ting couldn’t have taken that slap in vain.
Xu Lihua sat at the door of her house, holding a large palm-leaf fan.
“Go ahead and ask everyone to come out and argue about right and wrong.”
He Feiyan avoided Duan Yuzhen’s entanglement and explained in a few words how Duan Yuzhen replaced Jiang Yu’s registration form and deceived the newspaper.
“If it wasn’t you, this job would definitely have gone to Jiang Yu. It was you who ruined her job. How dare you feel so guilty? You were fired from the newspaper, and you deserved it. If it wasn’t your fault, your uncle is still the editor-in-chief of the newspaper. How could he not protect you?”
When the people in the compound learned the truth, their expressions became intriguing.
Even Wen Yan felt ashamed and slapped Duan Yuzhen in the face.
“You still have the nerve to cry! Wait until your grandfather comes back, and he’ll beat you to death!”
Wen Yan simply ignored her business and turned into the house angrily.
The mother doesn’t care anymore, so Lin Donghua, the sister-in-law, is even more embarrassed to be here.
The hatred in Jiang Ting’s chest continued to accumulate, and suddenly exploded to the peak. She rushed forward and slapped Duan Yuzhen twice.
“You’re the bitch if you call me a bitch. Your whole family is a bitch!”
Duan Yuzhen was slapped three times in a row. Her ears were buzzing and her face was burning with pain.
Wen Yan beat her and she accepted it.
But what qualifications does Jiang Ting have to take action!
“You dare to hit me? You dare to hit me!”
Before Jiang Ting opened her mouth, Lin Hongxia laughed first.
“Yuzhen, you did something wrong. It’s fine if you don’t admit it, but you came back and started fighting with Jiang Ting. Why can’t our Jiang Ting fight back? Are you the daughter of a capitalist? Even if you did something wrong, others have to flatter you?”
Xu Lihua clicked her tongue and shook her head. “At the foot of the imperial city, even the princesses of the old society wouldn’t be so arrogant. They can’t even tell right from wrong.”
Wen Yan had originally closed the door, but when she heard what they said, she hurriedly ran out of the house.
“What else did I ask you to do? Apologize to Jiang Ting!”
What kind of capitalist lady is this? If this label sticks, the entire Duan family will be implicated.
Duan Yuzhen, with a pig-like face, was forced by Wen Yan to lower her head. She apologized to Jiang Ting and handed over three yuan as compensation.
Jiang Ting was holding the three fresh bills, but before she could even get comfortable with them, Lin Hongxia snatched them away.
“What are you staring at?” Lin Hongxia glared at her unhappily. “I’m not dead yet, and you want to take charge?”
Jiang Ting quickly shook her head. “Mom, how could I?”
In the evening, He Tingyue returned home.
He Feiyan told him what happened that day, expressing her regret for Jiang Yu.
“It’s so hard to find a job nowadays. Siater Jiang Yu finally got an opportunity, but it was ruined just like that. What a pity.”
Maybe she would have to rely on He Tingyue for support.
“Brother, if you hadn’t helped Sister Jiang Yu find a job, maybe she would have married you if she was happy.”
He Tingyue glared at her coldly. “You don’t need to worry about what happens between me and her.”
He Feiyan’s face was filled with melancholy. “When Xie Fei fei’s cousin comes back, you’ll see how anxious you is.”
He Tingyue remained stern and silent, but he was actually thinking about whether there was a suitable job for Jiang Yu.
In fact, if he marry her, it’s fine not to work, since he can support her.
But Jiang Yu has talent, she just can’t shine in her job, and is buried under it.
The next day, He Feiyan visited Jiang Yu again and told her about Duan Yuzhen’s miserable condition from yesterday.
Jiang Yu happened to be delivering a finished skirt to Xie Fei fei. Xie Fei fei was delighted to hear this, believing it was a good way to teach Duan Yuzhen a lesson.
“If evildoers don’t get punished, then this society is meaningless.”
Without hesitation, she admired her new dress first.
It was another floral dress, but the color was slightly different from He Feiyan’s.
Xie Fei fei had a slightly plump figure and fair skin.
Her complexion was whiter than He Feiyan’s but not as pale as Jiang Yu’s. She looked lovely in the lotus pink floral dress.
When Xie Fei fei saw it was pink, she adored it.
“Pink fabrics are very scarce. I saved fabric coupons for a long time, but couldn’t find any at the department store.”
Nowadays, fabric colors are simple, with dark shades being more common. Bright colors like this are gone as soon as they hit the shelves.
Jiang Yu’s willingness to give her the pink fabric for a skirt showed that she truly cared for her and considered her a friend.
Before Jiang Yu could say a word, Xie Fei fei was already overwhelmed with emotion, tears filling her eyes.
“Try it on when you get home. I’ve washed the clothes, so you can wear them right away.”
He Feiyan didn’t like pink as much as Xie Fei fei did. With her yellow skin tone, she felt pink didn’t suit her.
“My skirt is beautiful too. He also likes the clothes you made for my brother. He won’t let me touch it. What a stingy guy,” He Feiyan pouted.
Xie Fei fei was surprised. “You made clothes for her brother too?”
Since she had already made clothes, did her cousin still have a chance?
Jiang Yu smiled awkwardly. “Feiyan’s brother gave me so much fabric, making him a set of clothes isn’t too much.”
Xie Fei fei nodded in agreement.
“I’m off this weekend. Let’s go to the park for boating, bring some snacks, and stay all afternoon,” she suggested.
Jiang Yu and He Feiyan, both free, happily agreed.
