Chapter 014: The Pharmacist
After the small pot of herbal medicine was done brewing, Yun Xi slowly infused it with spirit energy.
Sure enough, the system quickly responded with a prompt:
[Ding! Congratulations, player has learned Danggui Blood-Tonic Soup Lv1. You have successfully changed class to Pharmacist and unlocked the exclusive skill Potion Making Lv1.]
…
After flipping through various medical books, Yun Xi’s Pharmacist skill panel gradually gained more abilities:
[Pharmacist Class Skills]
• Potion Making Lv1 – Pharmacist-exclusive skill
• Recorded Formulas:
— Danggui Blood-Tonic Soup Lv1
— Ba Zhen Soup Lv0
— Four-Ingredient Decoction Lv0
— Liuwei Dihuang Pill Lv0
…
Some online recipes might not be entirely accurate, but as long as they are effective, the system would recognize them.
Therefore, Yun Xi collected as many recorded, publicly available formulas as she could—especially those related to blood-replenishing decoctions. Once infused with spirit energy, they truly did restore HP—something that had already been verified in her past life.
If the Danggui Blood-Tonic Soup was made by a non-Pharmacist, it could still restore health, but the process would be very slow.
For example, if a player’s max HP was 50, drinking a Pharmacist-made Danggui Blood-Tonic Soup would, depending on the infused spirit energy and potion quantity, restore 1–10 HP within 1–10 minutes.
Whereas a non-Pharmacist-made version would be like how it is on Blue Star: the effects vary based on individual constitution and absorption. It would take at least half a month of daily drinking to slowly raise one’s health from “sub-healthy” to “healthy.”
On the Fallen Gods Continent, health potions are made by combining various herbs with spirit energy. The only difference compared to Blue Star is that herbs on this continent grow in spirit-rich environments, making them significantly more effective.
With the Pharmacist’s spirit energy enhancement, some high-level potions could even revive the dead and regrow flesh on bones.
Just as top-tier Rune Masters can draw Revival Talismans, elite Pharmacists can craft Revival Potions.
Of course, whether it’s the talisman or the potion, they are incredibly rare and precious.
All in all, the Fallen Gods Continent truly is a magical world.
After finishing everything, Yun Xi glanced at her phone. As usual, Yu Jinxiang and Tu Jiaojiao had sent her safe check-in messages, and she replied to them one by one.
Even Gu Shian messaged her, saying he had sent her a friend request using the system ID she provided.
Yun Xi immediately accepted.
After the full invasion of Blue Star by the Fallen Gods Continent, the world will undergo “assimilation.” All forms of technology and hot weapons will become completely useless.
That’s why the in-game friend interface will become the only way for people to contact distant friends and family.
After adding Gu Shian, neither of them chatted much. The beta test only lasted ten days—they had to maximize every second.
Yun Xi checked the time. Based on her mental conversion, it should be dawn on the Fallen Gods Continent.
She put on the game-issued coarse linen clothes and clicked “log in.”
There was no choice—items from Blue Star can’t be brought into the Fallen Gods Continent, and that included clothes. Luckily, the game provided a free set of linen clothes; otherwise, players would be forced to go naked.
As soon as she returned to her small hut in the Fallen Gods Continent, she heard a rhythmic knocking at the door.
“Adventurer, are you awake?”
It was the village chief’s voice.
Yun Xi hadn’t expected the chief to come personally. She hurried to open the door.
“Village Chief, you…”
Yun Xi looked at him in surprise.
The chief was holding a large wicker basket stuffed full of supplies.
He smiled a little sheepishly.
“Adventurer, thank you for saving my two grandsons last night. This is a gift of thanks.”
“This is way too much…”
Yun Xi glanced inside and immediately noticed some rare resources among the contents.
The chief first took out a simple little pouch from the top of the basket.
“This is a storage pouch. The capacity isn’t much—only one cubic meter. It was a piece of gear I retired in my youth. If you don’t mind, you can use this for now.”
He naturally knew that adventurers were new to this world. Since there was no in-village marketplace, Yun Xi was likely short on resources.
Then he pulled out three red potions and explained them carefully:
“These are health recovery potions, the same as the one I gave you last night. No side effects—you can use them with confidence.”
“And these are spirit energy recovery potions. One bottle restores about 50 spirit energy. These are my last two bottles without side effects—I’m giving them all to you.”
Because there were only two bottles, he smiled a little awkwardly.
“The rest are some unpolluted food items. I hope you like them.”
There was no denying it—the village chief had prepared these gifts with great care.
Even just the unpolluted food was already incredibly valuable: crops similar to sweet potatoes, fruits resembling apples—all with sweetness, a rare quality in food on this continent.
While not excessively expensive, they were incredibly hard to come by. Without reliable supply chains, even in large cities, such items would be snatched up instantly when they appeared in local markets.
As for the potions, no explanation was needed—they were clearly far more precious than food.
And the storage pouch was a space-type alchemy item. Its value couldn’t be measured in gold, silver, or copper coins—only white spirit crystals could buy something like that.
…
In short, what the chief gave far exceeded what Yun Xi had done.
Yun Xi wasn’t greedy—the storage pouch was what she needed most.
She was about to decline the food and potions but then reconsidered. In the chief’s eyes, she was a newly arrived adventurer who clearly lacked these basic resources. Flatly rejecting everything might seem suspicious.
“Village Chief, this is too much. I’ll accept the storage pouch, but I can only take a third of the other supplies.”
The chief chuckled and shook his head:
“It’s not too much at all. To me, my family’s lives are worth far more than material goods.
It’s a pity—my old spellcaster teacher had me sign a contract back then: I can only pass down Fireball to direct disciples or blood relatives. I can’t teach it to any adventurer. Otherwise, with your talent, you would’ve easily mastered it…”
The unspoken meaning was clear: If it weren’t for that contract, the chief would have included the Fireball spell pattern among his gifts to Yun Xi.
Yun Xi wasn’t surprised. Judging from the chief’s wealth of resources, he had clearly come from a powerful background.
She just didn’t know why he had chosen to leave all that behind and bring his descendants here to form a small village.
