Chapter 021: Goods

“Miss Yun, this tablet lists all the currently available items for exchange,” the staff member explained. “If you see anything you need, you can place an order directly, and a staff member will bring the items over to you. Payment and delivery are done on the spot.”

“If you have surplus items you don’t need and want to exchange them for copper coins, just tap here to fill in the relevant information—a dedicated agent will assist you.”

This setup… felt surprisingly user-friendly, just like ordering from a menu at a restaurant.

And indeed, it was very convenient.

Yun Xi accepted the tablet and began browsing through the options.

[Potions Category]

  • No. 628 Health Potion: Instantly restores 10 HP and heals wounds. Causes slight numbness as a side effect.
(Price: 100 copper coins) [Remaining: 26]
  • No. 268 Health Potion: Gradually restores 20 HP and heals wounds. Causes slight dizziness and nausea.
(Price: 120 copper coins) [Remaining: 12]

[Food Category]

  • Coldfruit: Slightly polluted fruit, cool in taste, relieves thirst and heat.
(Price: 13 copper coins) [Remaining: 32]
  • Mantou Fruit: Clean, pollution-free fruit with a soft texture that restores stamina.
(Price: 30 copper coins) [Remaining: 15]

With a glance, Yun Xi saw many familiar resources—ones she had known well in her previous life.

Especially the two health potions—they were the most common recovery items in the starter village, usually sold in bulk by merchants.

Legend had it that the alchemists who created these potions were poor and lacked talent. In need of cash, they sold the recipes at high prices for mass production.

Since the side effects were mild—almost negligible—and the prices were low, the potions became extremely popular among low-level players. These two were the most widely circulated healing potions in the entire Fallen Gods Continent.

Yun Xi hadn’t expected to see them again so soon—this time, on Blue Star.

As for Coldfruit, the name said it all: a fruit imbued with cold energy, juicy and flavorful. In its unpolluted form, it could sell for a high price.

But this was the polluted version, so the price was ten times cheaper than the clean version.

The Mantou Fruit, on the other hand, was bland in flavor but completely clean—and that alone made it worth 30 copper coins.

Other cheap food items in the system store—like coarse wheat biscuits and clumpfruit—only cost 1–3 copper coins and were also free of pollution. But the taste? Absolutely awful. Even “hard to swallow” was considered a compliment.

Coarse wheat biscuits were filled with not just coarse flour, but also dust and tiny pebbles. Every bite was a tooth-breaking crunch.

Clumpfruit looked like a hard knot on the outside, but inside it was filled with sticky, snot-like mucus. It didn’t just look like mucus—it tasted like it too.

New players always vomited after eating it. No exceptions.

All the other cheap food in the system store were just as bad—a group of “Wolong and Fengchu” (a sarcastic term for equally terrible things).

Yun Xi often wondered where the system even found such horrid food. She suspected these were discarded native supplies from Fallen Gods Continent that the system had repackaged and put back on the shelves.

Still, it couldn’t be denied that many drifters survived on this food. Yun Xi had been one of them.

After all, once the Fallen Gods Continent officially launched, top-ups were disabled, and Yun Xi had to survive on the single copper coin she earned daily from drifter quests.

Back on the tablet, inventory updated quickly—like with the healing potions, which were soon down to single digits.

Although the prices set by the official store were about 20% higher than those in the game world, no one complained.

Getting these items and bringing them back was no small task. Besides, since the game hadn’t opened yet, who knew—maybe these were rare limited editions.

Yun Xi wasn’t interested in food or potions, so she kept scrolling.

[Equipment Category]

  • Beginner Warrior Set (Male/Female): Standard combat gear for warriors. Suitable height (170–190 / 150–170 cm). Made from stitched beast hide, allows full range of motion, adds minor defense.
    (Includes: shirt, pants, shoes)
    (Price: 500 copper coins or 4 silver coins) [Stock: 5 / 3]
  • Beginner Spellcaster Set (Male/Female): Standard attire for spellcasters. Suitable height (170–190 / 150–170 cm). Made from refined spirit silkworm thread, slightly boosts mana absorption, adds minor defense, and has self-cleaning properties.
(Includes: shirt, pants, undergarments, shoes, socks, outer robe)
    (Price: 2000 copper coins or 16 silver coins) [Stock: 2 / 3]

Spellcaster set vs. warrior set?

On closer inspection, the price difference was four times. But the spellcaster set included more items—undergarments, socks, robe—and was made of spirit silkworm silk, which was more expensive than ordinary beast hide.

Using silver coins offered a 20% discount. At that rate, the cost was about the same as what tailors charged in Fallen Gods Continent.

Yun Xi understood why.

In the system currency rules, money can’t be converted upward—you can’t trade copper coins for silver coins through the system. So offline transactions were the only way.

Some in-game items could only be bought with silver, so the officials had no choice but to “subtly” collect more silver coins, just in case they needed to buy something valuable later.

Even though silver coins were hard to come by, with enough people, someone was bound to have some.

And Yun Xi did have silver coins.

Compared to her current rough linen outfit, the beginner spellcaster set was far superior.

Not to mention, clothes made from spirit silkworm silk had to be soft and comfortable.

She immediately tapped the + button next to the spellcaster set, selected the female version, and confirmed.

Then she browsed the weapons category.

[Weapons Category]

  • Large Machete: Primarily used for chopping wood. Adds 8–10 physical damage.
(Price: 150 copper coins or 1 silver coin) [Stock: 1]
  • Caution Sword: A sword with no guard—handle with care. Adds 6–12 physical damage.
(Price: 160 copper coins or 1 silver coin) [Stock: 1]
  • Thunderwood Wand: A beginner’s spellcaster wand made from lightning-struck spiritual wood. Adds 3–9 magic damage.
(Price: 130 copper coins or 1 silver coin) [Stock: 1]

Unlike other items, weapons were typically unique.

Yun Xi casually selected the Caution Sword and Thunderwood Wand.

The sword was for close-range combat, and the wand—while it didn’t offer much damage—might still make a difference. Sometimes all it took was 2 extra points to finish off a monster.
