Chapter 007: Recipe
With just a quick glance, Yun Xi closed her interface. She then shut her eyes and began skillfully operating her Spirit Energy Control, absorbing the spirit energy in the air until her spirit energy capacity was completely full.
Spirit energy was a special kind of power. It could be composed of various elements, exist as pure energy, or even be transformed into special laws of nature.
This was what allowed it to support all sorts of strange and fantastic spells—like the Purification Spell and Wishing Spell that Yun Xi had coveted in her past life.
She had heard of both spells long ago. The former, while common, was extremely hard to obtain, as it was a secret technique passed down only among the natives of the Divine Fall Continent. The latter was a legendary spell that had been circulating on the continent for ages.
The Purification Spell could cleanse polluted “ghost energy” from food and water in the wild, rendering them safe and edible. Most major powers on the continent would select trusted members to train in purification magic and serve exclusively as purification specialists.
As for people from Blue Star who wanted to learn the spell? Sure—after signing an indenture contract with the faction leader.
Yun Xi had long held resentment over this in her past life. But now, in this life, she would have no such regrets.
Unfortunately, the inheritance crystal that held this knowledge came with powerful restrictions: she could not share or pass on any of it to others. She couldn’t teach the people of Blue Star even if she wanted to.
To lift the restriction, she had to complete the Divine Race’s quest, and only then could she claim true ownership over the Three Divine Artifacts.
The Wishing Spell, meanwhile, was a true conceptual-level spell. In theory, as long as you could provide sufficient spirit energy, any wish could be fulfilled.
If she perfected the Wishing Spell and maxed out her spirit energy…
Then she would be invincible.
As Yun Xi quietly considered her future path, she didn’t even notice that her spirit energy was already full.
She stood up and stretched, feeling entirely relaxed.
A glance at the time told her it was still a while before dawn. After thinking for a moment, Yun Xi decided to log out.
The Divine Fall Continent was far too dangerous at night. She could only activate the main quest at dawn. But she didn’t want to waste this time either—she might as well return to Blue Star to collect recipes.
After logging out, the scene before her eyes shifted. Yun Xi was back in her bedroom on Blue Star.
She was still dressed in coarse linen robes, while her original clothes lay nearby.
Yun Xi changed back into her original clothes and carefully folded up the linen robes. Then she headed for the kitchen… to make instant noodles.
Soon, the noodles were cooked. But Yun Xi didn’t stop there—she channeled a stream of spirit energy into the pot.
Before her eyes, the appearance of the noodles improved dramatically—they looked and smelled far more appetizing.
[Ding! Congratulations, player has learned “Boiled Noodles Lv1”. You have successfully changed class to Chef. You’ve unlocked the Chef-exclusive skill: Culinary Arts Lv1.]
Yun Xi raised an eyebrow. She wasn’t surprised at all.
As she’d expected—just like changing into a mage class, only by personally cooking a spirit-imbued dish could one become a Chef.
With her current cooking skill, she could only grant food the most basic effects.
When spirit energy was infused into food, it gained the ability to restore spirit energy. For ordinary people, long-term consumption could gradually improve their Constitution.
After successfully changing class, Yun Xi opened various cooking apps and began feverishly collecting recipes.
A few hours passed, and eventually, her Chef interface looked completely different.
[Chef Class Skills]
[Recipes Collected]:
As long as the recipe existed online—including how to make all kinds of seasonings—Yun Xi studied them all.
Even if she hadn’t actually cooked them and they remained at Lv0, she was still very satisfied.
As long as she had enough skill points, she would eventually level up all the dishes she loved to max level!
Even without spending skill points, she could increase recipe levels by practicing and cooking frequently.
Of course, to actually eat these dishes in the future, she’d not only need the skills but also the ingredients.
Once the game fully invaded Blue Star, ghost energy would permeate the entire world, and all food would become contaminated. Only Purification Magic could make it edible again.
Now that she had both culinary skills and Purification Spell knowledge, Yun Xi no longer had to suffer through the nightmare of coarse barley biscuits every day.
There was still time before the game fully invaded. Yun Xi wasn’t in a rush to learn purification magic. Her top priority now was to learn more spells and strengthen her ability to survive.
A glance at her phone showed it was 5:00 PM on Blue Star, which corresponded to 5:00 AM in the Divine Fall Continent.
One more hour until sunrise in-game.
While she waited, Yun Xi quickly scanned the latest online news.
[Breaking: The Divine Fall Continent Is a Real World!]
[Guys, it’s actually a full-dive game—this is insane…]
[Divine Fall Continent? Sounds more like a virus—can’t even register an account!]
[Same here! I can’t register either, not even guest login works!]
At this moment, news about the Divine Fall Continent had already flooded the internet.
However, because account registration was only available one hour earlier, most people couldn’t even access the game. As a result, no one believed what the few who got in were saying.
Arguments erupted online between both sides. But in the end, it came down to this: less than one in 100,000 people had successfully registered.
[Some people keep saying the Divine Fall Continent is real—then where’s the proof, huh?]
[You want proof? Easy. I’ll tell you right now—we brought items from the game back to the real world.]
Beneath this post was a photo showing a set of familiar coarse linen robes, with ten copper coins and an identity badge placed on top—items Yun Xi instantly recognized.
[Is this real?]
[Fake, obviously! But I gotta admit, the game’s marketing team is on another level—how many fake accounts did they hire?!]
[Exactly. Those copper coins and badges look mass-produced and cheap. So fake it hurts.]
…
The chaos ended when the official moderators stepped in to suppress the discussion.
This was exactly what had happened in Yun Xi’s past life. Before the game’s official launch, most people simply assumed the Divine Fall Continent was an undeletable virus disguised as a game.
They thought “Divine Fall is a real world” was just some flashy marketing slogan, and believed that the so-called “successful players” were nothing more than paid shills.
This was why Yu Jinxiang never logged into the game in the previous timeline.
Just then, Yun Xi’s phone buzzed—she’d received several message notifications from Tu Jiaojiao.
