Gather Divine Coins and Gacha!
Gather Divine Coins and Gacha! – Chapter 445

The other day, I finally tried the long-awaited Holy Coin Gacha 10-pull.

With the results, namely the experiments for 【Wind’s Cloak】 and 【Purple Feather】, I’ve come to a dungeon.
For this reason, I brought along Alec, August, and Teresa as guards, while Zighart and Fiora served as supervisors—an impressive lineup.
Even though Alec and the others had their duties with the Knights, they prioritized this for me.

We made it in time for the boss fight, likely because they might have wanted to use it during the battle.
Well, maybe they were just curious, too…

I haven’t tested 【Amber Shield】 yet.
Unlike the sword, I can’t test it against a target, and due to its nature, I can’t exactly try it on a human opponent either. I wanted to test it against monsters, but that would require taking a hit.
Even after four years of dungeon diving, I’ve never taken a monster’s attack, and honestly… it’s scary.
Eventually, I’ll figure it out.

For now, the focus is more on the two items than on the already-known 【Amber Shield】.

【Wind’s Cloak】… I’d heard from Fiora about its effects and had a general understanding, but once I activated it, the details became clearer.
Although it has “wind” in its name, it doesn’t whip up a storm.
To be honest, I thought it’d be cool if wind swirled dramatically around me, but… unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

Instead, it creates a spherical barrier with a maximum diameter of about five meters. Anything that touches this barrier is blown away by a gust of wind.
The barrier seems to activate against enemies or perceived dangers, even without my awareness, which is a mystery.
Still, the high functionality is appreciated.
Since I float, the barrier is spherical, but under normal circumstances, it’s said to be hemispherical.

It didn’t have the power to repel a charging boar completely, but it did manage to stagger an orc.

For now, I still use an umbrella when navigating corridors.
While I haven’t spotted any ogres recently, occasionally, an orc might throw something. While I can avoid direct hits, the fragments are still frightening.
The umbrella works well, but it blocks my view, which is its own kind of terrifying.

This isn’t limited to Riana; it could be used in other similar dungeons or even for outdoor hunting.
Though it might affect the surroundings indoors or in towns, outside, I could narrow the range and keep it active constantly. What a fantastic blessing!
We even pulled off a little combo technique!

And then there’s the mysterious and unsettling 【Purple Feather】.
Despite the name “feather,” it was a cut flower before activation. Once activated, it became a brooch. A brooch, huh? Not bad.
From the name, I guessed it had a poison effect, but it was hard to imagine its exact nature.

The result…

“…They’re alive, at least.”

“Yeah… is it paralysis poison?”

“This time, it’s about ten minutes. The variation might depend on physical differences or abilities… Sera, mind if we handle these guys?”

The monsters felled by 【Purple Feather】 lay sprawled on the ground.
While Alec and the others examined them, they seemed ready to deliver the final blow. They called up to me, who was floating near the ceiling.
While it’s not too loud in shallow areas, voices echo quite a bit in upper levels.

“Sure, go ahead!”

Even though they’re immobilized, descending into a crowd of monsters is terrifying.
It feels like a waste, but I’ll leave it to them.

“…It’s more useful than I expected. Might suit your style.”

“Whoa!”

Fiora’s sudden comment from the side startled me into a yelp.

“I’d appreciate it if you got used to me doing this.”

“Sorry, sorry… Ahem… Yeah, you’re right. This lets me immobilize enemies while floating, so it seems useful for support in chaotic battles.”

I apologized to Fiora, who was riding on a 【Floating Orb】, while explaining how 【Purple Feather】 felt to use.

Well, it’s rare for someone to address me from the side when I’m on a 【Floating Orb】, so I’m not used to it.

“Looks like it’s over…”

Looking down, the monsters that had been scattered around earlier were now gone.
They must’ve destroyed all the cores.

“Yeah. Let’s descend.”

Though I wasn’t the one delivering the final blow, and thus couldn’t expect Holy Coins, I needed to collect the relics.

【Purple Feather】 creates wings, as its name implies… though that description might be misleading.
It’s more similar to 【Snake Tail】.

First, there’s an unactivated state, and then upon activation, butterfly-like wing patterns appear on my back—this is the first stage.
In the second stage, focusing on the wings triggers their full form: four large, faintly glowing purple wings.
Unlike 【Snake Tail】, the wings cannot be moved, touch objects, or even emerge directly from the back; instead, they appear slightly detached.

These wings release a fine purple powder, which paralyzes monsters exposed to it. The duration varies by individual but gradually incapacitates them.

While testing is still incomplete, and much remains to be verified, the blessing’s greatest feature is its ability to distinguish between allies and enemies.
Since the wings can’t be physically touched, Zighart and the others speculated that it might involve magical energy akin to mana, with the poison being a magical phenomenon.

In chaotic battles, I can simply move around the battlefield from above, and the wings will exert their effects.
This blessing greatly complements the lack of options I felt during chaotic encounters, as was painfully evident during the boss monkey fight.

“Alright.”

I descended and deactivated the wings.
While they didn’t harm my allies, their sheer size was inconvenient.
Each wing was nearly a meter long, making them rather unwieldy.

“Ah, they’re definitely butterfly wings.”

“Right?!”

When deactivated, the wings folded vertically, like a butterfly’s.

At first, I thought they’d resemble a moth’s wings, given their poisonous nature, and the thought unsettled me.
However, the way they folded reminded me of butterflies, easing my discomfort.

Thanks to that, I can now use this highly beneficial blessing without hesitation.
It’d be a shame to use it begrudgingly despite its usefulness.

Heh… It’s uncertain whether it’ll work on the next boss, but if chaos erupts, it’s my time to shine!
