The new furniture decided upon in our recent discussion to be added to my room included a table, a sofa, and a sideboard.
At my request, the sofa is a large one you can stretch out on.
That said, standard pieces were sufficient, so they were delivered the next day, and we set them up ourselves again.
The placement is by the window. Unfortunately, the view from there is only of the mansion’s courtyard, but it’s not bad at all.
This room was originally a guest room, so it had a bed and other furnishings in the back, but we had them removed on the first day.
I usually sleep in Seriana’s bed, and it’s not like we’ll be bringing guests in here specifically, so there shouldn’t be any problem.
Besides, the only people who’d even be brought into this room are the usual group.
And if it really comes down to it, there’s always the bedroom in the 【Hideout】.
◇
“My, it feels quite spacious, doesn’t it? Aren’t you going to add a few more pieces of furniture?”
Today, Fiora, who’d heard about the room, has come over to visit.
She sat on the sofa, looking around the room, and seemed bothered by how plain it was.
Well… right now, the only furniture in the room is four large shelves and this sitting area set, so it does feel kind of empty for how big it is.
“Everything necessary is already in Lady Seria’s room and the 【Hideout】. I might add a few more shelves at some point, but for now, I think this is enough.”
This room has a window, but the only entrance is the door that connects to Seriana’s room.
To me, this room feels like a sort of anteroom to Seriana’s chamber.
If an unexpected guest arrives in Seriana’s room, we can just shift over here.
That’s why it would be a problem if it were too cluttered…
On the shelves, I’ve displayed monster materials from my collection, along with beautiful feathers and impressive fangs I’ve received as gifts.
There was some talk about putting in a bookshelf, but since Seriana’s room already has one, we figured there was no need to split them up, and the idea was shelved.
There are also paintings I’ve collected over the years hanging on the walls.
Even though there isn’t a lot of stuff in here, it really feels like my room now.
In Seriana’s room, I also keep some of my personal belongings on the shelves—more public-friendly things like monster sculptures—but compared to that, this room’s taste is a bit niche.
Though, thinking about it, the only ones who’ll be coming in here are close friends, so maybe I can go all out with my hobbies?
Even though I just said there’s no need for more, I’m starting to feel like I could add a few more things…
What about a life-size monster sculpture!?
As I got lost in those thoughts, Fiora turned to Seriana, seemingly having given up on getting a useful answer out of me.
Seriana shrugged her shoulders and spoke.
“This is fine for now. You know what’s in the back, right? If we let that girl handle it, this room would end up looking just like that.”
“Well… you’ve got a point.”
“There are weapons in the other room, but they’re not really display material… we can just add more over time, don’t you think?”
While Seriana doesn’t display them in her room, Liesel’s and Zelkis’s father’s rooms do. Displaying weapons gives that aristocratic vibe.
But everything stored in the 【Hideout】 was chosen for practical use by Alec and Zighart.
They’re a bit too rugged for room decor, and the room would end up looking like a storeroom.
Fiora seemed to recall that and nodded in understanding.
Then, as if she had an idea, she clapped her hands and turned to speak.
“Then, Sera. Why don’t you come shopping with me next time?”
“Hmm?”
Even though she agreed with Seriana’s words, Fiora clearly hadn’t given up and decided to invite me out shopping.
“We can’t display the Blessed Items, of course, but it should be fine to show off your other equipment, right?”
“…Is that… okay?”
My gear includes exploration clothes and armor and all sorts of things, but they’re stored in Seriana’s room or the 【Hideout】.
She wants to display those…? Display them?
It’s a little hard to picture, but it seems like Fiora has something in mind.
Might as well go along with it and see where it leads?
“Seria-sama, would it be alright?”
I glanced toward Seriana, who gave a slight shrug.
“Well, if Fiora’s going along, I doubt anything strange will happen… Teresa?”
“Yes. I’ll come along as well. Lady Fiora, what time shall we go?”
“Anytime is fine for me. Shall we go tomorrow morning? I’ll come to your room.”
Then Elena joined in, and the four of us began planning where to go.
Shopping with Fiora and Teresa, huh…
Now that I think about it, I’ve hardly ever gone shopping with the girls.
I’ve gone out a few times with Alec and Zighart, but that was more for buying supplies than personal shopping.
Fiora has a bit of a mad scientist streak, but I heard she’s from a reasonably well-off family.
She’s often with Zighart and the territory’s mages in the underground lab, but in terms of status, she’s closer to Teresa.
Looking around her house doesn’t really give that impression, but I guess she does have some noble tastes?
I can hear talk of carriages and such—it really might be a peek into noble-style shopping!

Just a guy translating stuff.
It’s interesting just how little they trust Sera with decoration.
