Chen Yiran’s gaze fell on Li Linlin, and Li Linlin’s heartbeat involuntarily skipped a beat.
She kept saying again and again that she had broken ties with Chen Yiran, not to tell others, but to remind herself.
She had liked Chen Yiran for so many years and this feeling had long turned into an imprint, changing her unconsciously. She knew that she still liked Chen Yiran. If feelings could be abandoned at the drop of a hat, there wouldn’t be so many unhappy men and women in the world.
But she didn’t want to be like that. She didn’t like having an unrequited love with Chen Yiran anymore and she also didn’t like the feeling of being easily swayed by him. She thought that as long as she stayed away from Chen Yiran, this feeling would slowly fade one day, but Chen Yiran inexplicably stuck to her.
Was he this despicable?
Li Linlin couldn’t help but think so.
She stabilized her mind, let out a chuckle, and told him, “How would I know why you came to the pet expo? It’s not me who ask you to come. Isn’t it because your company isn’t doing well? That’s why you don’t have work.”
“……” Chen Yiran knew that she was emotional but he didn’t expect it to be this strong. “Linlin, I know that I did something wrong before. I didn’t understand myself at that time— although I still don’t understand quite well now— but I’m trying to in my heart, so I hope you can give me another chance.”
After hearing what his words, Li Linlin looked at him as if she had seen a ghost. “Are you really Chen Yiran? You’re not possessed by something strange, right?”
Chen Yiran: “……”
So in Linlin’s mind, he’s just an AI with no emotion?
The two walked and chatted, then wandered to the kennel. There were many dogs there, including various popular breeds. Unlike the previous celebrity pets that could only be photographed, these dogs could be petted at will and were quite accommodating.
Li Linlin instantly became excited and trotted inside. There were quite a few customers and everyone was happily petting dogs. Li Linlin looked around and found a Shiba Inu that looked very much like Lili, so she walked up to it.
There was a nameplate hanging around the dog’s neck, with its breed and name written on it. Li Linlin looked at it and read the dog’s name, “Da Chaichai[1]big shishi/shiba.”
“Woof.” Da Chaichai responded to her.
Li Linlin held its face and couldn’t help but laugh out loud. “Who gave you that name? So perfunctory, hahahaha.”
Chen Yiran followed her over and stood behind her. He looked at Da Chaichai who showed no resistance even when its face was being squeezed. “It looks like Lili.”
Li Linlin said, “In your eyes, all Shiba Inus are the same.”
Li Linlin returned Chen Yiran’s words to him.
Chen Yiran was silent for a moment and then squatted down to pet Da Chaichai. “Are you really not considering getting another dog?”
He could see that Li Linlin was fond of dogs and they were also very fond of her.
Li Linlin teased Da Chaichai as she told Chen Yiran, “Isn’t this quite good? If you don’t have time, you can raise dogs online. If you have time, you can go out and visit the kennels and catteries, and let them come out to receive you. It’s so awesome.”
Chen Yiran didn’t say anything else. He just took out his mobile phone and asked her, “Want me to take pictures for you?”
Li Linlin said, “Take a video! I’ll send it to my dad later.”
Lili was her dad’s dog and after Lili left, his family didn’t dare to keep another dog but not him.
Chen Yiran seemed to know what she was thinking and chuckled. Why were the father and daughter making things difficult for each other like this?
He thought so to himself but he still followed Li Linlin’s instructions and took a video of her and Da Chaichai. After filming, Li Linlin asked him to forward the video to her, which she then sent to her dear father on the spot.
Li Shen who saw the video: “……”
Why come to hurt him?
After sending the video, Li Linlin teased Da Chaichai for a while longer before leaving the kennel. Chen Yiran still followed behind her and asked the owner of the kennel for a business card before departing.
Li Linlin looked at the time and saw that it was already noon. No wonder she was so hungry. There was a specially arranged dining area in the convention center and there were several restaurants open near the entrance, however, Li Linlin didn’t dare eat there for fear of being recognized, so she had to leave first.
Unexpectedly, Chen Yiran continued following her, almost like a little tail. Wherever she went, he followed.
Li Linlin finally couldn’t help herself and stopped to look back at him. “President Chen, why do keep following me? Don’t you have your own things to do?”
She now really suspected that Huachuang Group was going out of business!
Chen Yiran said, “I’m not following you, I just happened to be going on the same road.”
Li Linlin let out a laugh and asked him, “Then where are you going next?”
Chen Yiran said, “I’ll go wherever you’re going.”
Li Linlin: “……”
“You must be hungry, right?” Chen Yiran took the initiative to ask, “Want to go to eat? I know a delicious Japanese restaurant nearby.”
“I’m not hungry!” Li Linlin had just finished speaking fiercely when her stomach growled.
Li Linlin: “……”
