Wang Qiang sat on the sofa in the lounge, surrounded by a group of beautiful women.
Huang Shao leaned over to him and whispered, “Young Master Wang, Xu Fei is coming soon. Don’t you have any plans ready? Need us to help?”
“Just make sure you guys get her drunk, and I’ll handle the rest. It wasn’t easy convincing her to come to the bar tonight.”
Wang Qiang had made up his mind. Tonight, he was determined to make Xu Fei his. Once she was his woman, there was no way she wouldn’t follow him.
“No problem, leave it to us. We guarantee that Young Master Wang will win the beauty’s heart tonight.”
The people around him all chimed in agreement.
Just then, Wang Qiang saw Xu Fei walk in, but his face immediately darkened when he noticed Qin Feng walking beside her. He couldn’t help but feel frustrated. Why is he here?
“Everyone, this is my husband, Qin Feng,” Xu Fei introduced, leading Qin Feng to sit on the sofa.
Qin Feng saw Wang Qiang’s expression, dark as if it could drip water, and said with a sly grin, “Oh, isn’t this Little Wang? Why does your face look so bad? Don’t tell me you’ve caught some terminal illness!”
Hearing this, Wang Qiang nearly choked on his rage and replied stiffly, “Don’t worry. I’m in perfect health.”
At this moment, Huang Shao handed a glass of wine to Xu Fei and said, “Miss Xu, we’ve been waiting for you for a long time. Since you’re late, how about three penalty drinks to make up for it?”
Seeing that they were trying to push alcohol on Xu Fei right from the start, Qin Feng immediately spoke up, “This isn’t a formal dinner. Why the penalty drinks?”
“We’re just here to have fun. Come on, everyone, let’s drink!”
Huang Shao was briefly stunned but quickly raised his glass and drank.
Qin Feng glanced at the drinks on the table—they were all strong liquors like brandy, whiskey, and gin. He rarely drank more than a sip to preserve his palate and certainly wasn’t about to let Xu Fei down these potent drinks.
He called over a waiter and said, “Bring us some Margaritas.”
“Of course, please wait a moment,” the waiter replied with a nod.
Margaritas had a lower alcohol content and were perfect for women.
Wang Qiang saw Qin Feng’s maneuver, which effectively blocked anyone else from persuading Xu Fei to drink, and realized that unless he dealt with Qin Feng, he wouldn’t get anywhere with Xu Fei. He exchanged a meaningful glance with Huang Shao.
Having followed Wang Qiang for years, Huang Shao immediately understood. “Everyone, how about we play a drinking game? Sounds good?”
“Sure! That sounds fun!”
Everyone was excited to join in.
“I’ll explain the rules,” Huang Shao said. “The waiter will bring a cocktail, and we’ll guess what ingredients are in it. Whoever guesses all the components in one go wins. If they miss something, the next person can add to the answer until someone gets it right. The losers have to drink as a penalty.”
He shook a bottle of vodka in his hand—enough to knock out an ordinary person after a few rounds.
Xu Fei hesitated slightly and leaned over to Qin Feng. “What should I do? I know nothing about alcohol.”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got this,” Qin Feng said confidently. As a world-class chef, knowledge of alcohol was a must.
“Alright, since everyone’s agreed, let’s start! Waiter, bring us ten glasses!” Huang Shao gestured.
Soon, the waiter brought over the drinks and introduced them. “Ladies and gentlemen, this is our bartender’s new creation, Rose Lover. Enjoy.”
The group eagerly picked up their glasses to taste.
Qin Feng took a small sip, savoring the sweet and sour flavor with a hint of fruitiness. After a moment’s thought, he announced, “This cocktail contains gin, cherry brandy, lemon juice, grenadine, Angostura bitters, and chilled soda water.”
Everyone was stunned. They had barely started tasting, and Qin Feng had already named every ingredient. The speed was unbelievable.
Wang Qiang had only identified three ingredients despite being a bar regular. He couldn’t help but feel shocked.
Huang Shao, unwilling to believe Qin Feng could guess so quickly, retorted, “You must be bluffing. No one can figure it out that fast without hesitation.”
The waiter interjected, “This gentleman is absolutely correct. Rose Lover is indeed made with those ingredients.”
Hearing this, Huang Shao and the others fell silent.
“Haha! You all lost. Time to drink!”
Qin Feng grabbed the vodka and poured a full glass for each of them, then looked at them with a playful smile.
“Drink up!”
Wang Qiang downed his vodka in one gulp.
Huang Shao pointed at Xu Fei and said, “She lost too. She has to drink. Rules are rules.”
Qin Feng had anticipated this and said, “She’s my wife, so I’ll drink for her.”
With that, he picked up Xu Fei’s glass of vodka and drained it in one go.
Soon, the waiter brought the second cocktail.
Qin Feng tasted it and immediately said, “This drink contains Canadian whiskey, vermouth, peach liqueur, and cranberry juice.”
Without giving anyone a chance to react, he poured each person a full glass of vodka again and downed Xu Fei’s share as well.
Wang Qiang, seeing the waiter confirm Qin Feng’s answer yet again, knew he couldn’t win. Qin Feng was clearly a professional, and there was no beating him at this game. He needed a different plan.
Excusing himself to the restroom, Wang Qiang gave the waiter a meaningful look as he left.
“Sir, are you looking for me?”
The waiter followed him to a secluded spot.
“I’ll tell you a few cocktails to bring out next. Can you manage that?”
Wang Qiang handed the waiter a thick stack of bills.
“Of course, leave it to me.”
The waiter pocketed the money and began counting it leisurely.
Wang Qiang leaned in and whispered his instructions.
Qin Feng watched them leave together and immediately knew Wang Qiang was up to something. He couldn’t help but chuckle to himself.
“You’ve already had two glasses. Maybe you should slow down. I can drink too,” Xu Fei said, her heart aching as she saw Qin Feng drinking for her.
“It’s fine. I can handle it. What kind of husband doesn’t protect his wife?” Qin Feng replied with a warm smile.
Hearing this, Xu Fei felt a comforting warmth rise in her heart.
