While toasting at the banquet, someone pushed a boy next to another man.
The man was wearing a high-end suit and had a dull expression on his face. Others were either drinking or socializing, but he was the only one standing there doing nothing.
Even if he does nothing, no one would think that he is wrong or feel sorry for his loneliness.
Who dares to think Lu Wusui is lonely? Is there something wrong with your brain?
When the boy was pushed to Lu Wusui’s side, he looked behind him with a panicked look on his face.
I got an encouraging look from my family.
He mustered up his courage, and when he looked at Lu Wusui, his face flushed a little.
However, before he could speak, Lu Wusui looked past him and at his parents behind him – his eyes were indifferent, not even containing any warning, he just looked at them.
The boy’s parents were full of expectations at first, but later they came to their son’s side, sweating and trembling, and whispered to him, “Why are you here? It took me a long time to find you. I have something to talk to you about.”
Then, with a flattering smile, he nodded at Lu Wusui as a greeting, and ran away with his son.
After the family left, Lu Wusui withdrew his gaze.
His assistant Fan Meng stood beside him.
Fan Meng said, “Boss Lu, I have already done what you asked me to do. Those people from the Lu family will fall into the trap tonight.”
”Yeah.” Lu Wusui responded.
He suddenly remembered something and ordered, “Spread the news that I don’t plan to get married recently, so that no one will bother me every day.”
Fan Meng responded and couldn’t help but look at the family he had just met.
Ever since Lu Wusui chose to marry last time, many people have been ready to make a move. It was not until later, when Lu Wusui chose the Jiang family, that these people calmed down for a while.
But it didn’t last long.
Because Lu Wusui’s decision to marry was just a joke and he didn’t take it seriously at all. When he was choosing a marriage partner, he just picked the most curious one from a bunch of people.
When the old lady wanted him to meet the young master of the Jiang family, he did not go in person, but sent an assistant.
Fan Meng still remembered when he went back to report to Lu Wusui that the young master of the Jiang family did not show up.
Lu Wusui signed the contract without even stopping, and said calmly, “I don’t have time to play with him. Anyway, we haven’t officially discussed this matter, so let’s leave it at that.”
That’s it? What’s that like?
Fan Meng held his breath and asked with gritted teeth.
Lu Wusui replied, “It means forget it.”
As for the rest of the people, Lu Wusui didn’t want to see them anymore – so in the end, he didn’t even meet a single marriage partner in this casual marriage, which was a miracle.
Fan Meng is an old employee who has been with Lu Wusui since the early days when he returned from abroad. He has seen Lu Wusui when he was still young and he has also seen Lu Wusui when he was still normal.
So he felt that Lu Wusui was becoming more and more irritable and moody.
Fortunately, although this is a hot-tempered boss, he is also a generous boss.
Following Lu Wusui’s instructions, Fan Meng sent text messages to other people, informing them to quickly spread the news that Lu Wusui did not want to marry.
He stayed where he was and waited to see if Lu Wusui had any other instructions.
This is actually a very strange scene. After all, no one brings an assistant to a banquet. Even if they do, many people will not stand alone with their assistant, because it would seem that no one cares about them and it would be a bit cheap.
But when it comes to Lu Wusui, everything makes sense.
Or, just because he is Lu Wusui, everything he does is reasonable.
Lu Wusui looked at his watch – it was already this late, and those idiots in the Lu family hadn’t even noticed that there was something wrong with their investment.
Anyway, he has a lot of time today and nothing to do when he gets home.
Stay with them for a while longer.
Lu Wusui lowered his eyes, stretched out his slender fingertips, touched the high-heeled glass beside him, then picked it up and drank slowly, one sip at a time.
Probably just a few minutes.
Lu Wusui heard some noisy noises coming from the door and looked over there sharply.
At the door – Tao Chuannan and Jiang Huai arrived late, and were besieged by the elders of the Tao family as soon as they entered.
Jiang Huai stood beside Tao Chuannan and briefly stood on the same boat with him.
The two of them seldom met each other. Tao Chuannan seldom stayed at home often. Every time he went home, it was because he had to attend a public event.
At such times, two strangers would pretend to be a loving couple.
But in fact, who knows, they are not familiar with each other at all.
After being scolded, Tao Chuannan stood beside Jiang Huai helplessly.
Jiang Huai didn’t care much – after all, he was not the one being scolded. He just flashed his big eyes and stared curiously at the wine table next to the two of them.
Tao Chuannan asked him for the first time: “Do you want to drink?”
Jiang Huai was slightly startled when he heard this, then slowly shook his head.
Like a slow-moving sloth.
Tao Chuannan said: “Okay.”
Then the two fell into silence.
Jiang Huai was silent because he had always been silent. Tao Chuannan was silent because he and Jiang Huai really had nothing to talk about.
There was an awkwardness in the air that only Tao Chuannan could sense.
He looked around and couldn’t stand this kind of atmosphere anymore. He even thought Jiang Huai might think the same way.
After all, there are very few families that still retain ancient ideas and force their descendants to intermarry.
There are very few strange marriages like theirs, where the couple have never even met each other before marriage and cannot see each other after marriage.
Fortunately, Tao Chuannan knew someone at the banquet.
When he saw someone he knew, he felt relieved for a moment, and the other person also came up to him and started a conversation.
As they talked, they decided to go outside to have a cigarette.
When Tao Chuannan decided to go out, he glanced at Jiang Huai and said apologetically, “Can you stay here by yourself?”
Jiang Huai didn’t understand why he asked such a question.
He said slowly, “Sure.”
Tao Chunan sighed at him. Under the strange gazes of his friends, he at least gave Jiang Huai some face and whispered, “Then dear, I will be back soon.”
After saying that, he pulled his friend next to him out.
After Tao Chunan left, Jiang Huai still stood there.
When Lu Wusui stood like this, he was quite conspicuous, but because he was Lu Wusui, everything he did was right. But when this person became Jiang Huai, it was different.
I remember that within a few minutes, there were vague stares and discussions one after another.
”Who is this?”
”The guy from the Jiang family who recently married into the Tao family, I don’t remember his name, but judging from his appearance, he doesn’t seem very smart.”
”Indeed, stupid, is there something wrong with your brain?”
Tao Chuannan’s sister Tao Qingli was standing next to them, but she was unmoved by what he said.
But after the people around her saw her clearly, they realized that it was not good to gossip in front of the master, so they lowered their voices a little.
It’s still the same thing.
”Guess what he is thinking about now?”
”What are you thinking about? Is he thinking his husband has changed his mind? I just saw his husband go out with another man with my own eyes.”
”I saw it too, but his husband has poor taste. His mistress is not as pretty as his wife.”
Jiang Huai still stood there without moving.
His eyes fell on the long wine table and he looked like he was in a daze, but in fact he was not thinking about anything, he was just watching.
Just as he was performing the action of “looking”.
A pair of black leather shoes came into his sight.
The pair of leather shoes was very shiny, either new or frequently polished by the owner, and looked very refined, which was very suitable for this banquet.
Jiang Huai has some ideas this time.
He thought that he could add something about people to his paintings, such as a gentleman wearing a pair of leather shoes.
Just as he was thinking this.
His gaze finally began to move, but very slowly, little by little, to the face of the owner of the leather shoes.
When he saw the other person clearly, his eyes flashed.
No one would not be amazed by Lu Wusui’s good looks when seeing him.
Similarly, no one would not be dazed by Jiang Huai’s face when seeing his appearance clearly.
The two people’s eyes collided in the air, and then looked away at the same time.
Jiang Huai didn’t hear it, the voices talking about him had gradually stopped.
Including Tao Qingli, who had always disliked him, stopped drinking and frowned at the two of them. The disdain in her eyes subsided, and what remained was unbelievable shock and tentative doubts.
Jiang Huai didn’t know who was in front of him.
But he felt that although the man in front of him had a good-looking appearance and his facial features could almost be called the golden ratio in art, he was a little fierce.
Especially when he realized that he seemed to be blocking the other person from getting the wine.
For the first time tonight, he reacted so quickly and moved away.
Lu Wusui paused.
He didn’t say anything, but reached out and picked up the clean, untouched wine glass next to Jiang Huai.
There is always enough wine at this kind of banquet, and it is often placed on a table so you can take it whenever you want.
Jiang Huai breathed a sigh of relief after Lu Wusui picked up the wine glass.
Is it time to go?
However, he was unable to relax for long. Before he could react, Lu Wusui leaned against the table next to him.
The two of them instantly stood side by side.
Jiang Huai: “…”
Although this man was a bit fierce, he could feel that with someone by his side, he seemed to be much more normal than standing alone.
Everyone at the party seemed to be in pairs, and those who were alone were also trying hard to find people to socialize with.
Jiang Huai continued standing happily.
In this way, the two of them stood for more than ten minutes, at a distance from each other but allowing people to see them both at a glance.
Ten minutes later, Jiang Huai received a call from Tao Chuannan, who said apologetically that he had left first.
Jiang Huai was very surprised because it meant he was also liberated.
When the two were talking on the phone, Lu Wusui who was next to them could also hear it.
After Jiang Huai hung up the phone excitedly and left without looking back, Lu Wusui drank the last sip of wine in the glass, and Fan Meng appeared beside him again.
Lu Wusui asked in a casual tone: “Who was the person next to me just now?”
