Lu Wusui opened the letter tremblingly.
For a moment he almost thought it was a suicide note, his blood boiling. After calming down, he opened the envelope with trembling hands and took out the candy inside first.
The sugar has melted a little, which shows that Jiang Huai has kept it in his pocket for quite a long time.
The letter paper doesn’t look new either.
Lu Wusui frowned, and after reading two lines, he fell into a silent silence.
The first line of the letter read: [Lu Wusou, I seem to be dying!]
It is not written in the format of a normal letter at all.
What’s even more speechless is yet to come.
The next few lines were crossed out by Jiang Huai, but from the traces of his writing, one could still vaguely see what he wrote.
The content of the crossed-out lines roughly reads as follows:
[In fact, I am a person who has been reborn. I have died once.]
[If you don’t believe me, I can prove it to you. In my previous life, I married not you but the Tao family. Something will happen to the Tao family in half a year. Of course, I don’t know what it is, but their family is very anxious anyway.]
[I can feel recently that the disease I had in my previous life has come back. I think my life is coming to an end. I know you like me, so I don’t want you to be sad because of me. I will leave by myself, and you don’t have to come to me.]
All of the above contents were crossed out by Jiang Huai.
This is basically the letter that Jiang Huai left behind when he ran away last time. He put the previous letter together and made it into a new letter.
Lu Wusui: “…”
The man didn’t even bother to write a new letter.
After discovering this, Lu Wusui’s first reaction was not to be so angry that he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as usual.
Instead, I thought: Fortunately it’s not a suicide note.
Otherwise, he might not even last until Jiang Huai came out of the operating room and would have collapsed.
After crossing out those contents, Jiang Huai wrote again:
[Lu Wusui, I don’t think I will die.]
[The candy is for you. I’m not nervous at all. I don’t know why you have to be so nervous. It makes me feel so uncomfortable. But I’m so happy that you promised to take care of the baby.]
[Reward you with candy.]
[Can you please stop frowning? Actually, when I see you in pain, I feel bad too. When I come out of the operating room, I want to see you smiling, okay?]
Lu Wusui felt a lump in his throat.
He always felt that Jiang Huai was not particularly sensitive to his emotions.
Jiang Huai’s personality is like he has covered himself with a huge glass cover. He is in his own greenhouse and cannot be disturbed by the storms from the outside world.
This kind of personality has both advantages and disadvantages.
The advantage is that he doesn’t have to worry about other people’s emotions, but the disadvantage is that in most cases, Lu Wusui can’t really feel his love for himself.
Even though he knew Jiang Huai had feelings for him.
There has never been a moment like this that made Lu Wusui feel so clearly that he was also loved by Jiang Huai, and that Jiang Huai also cared about his feelings.
He folded the letter carefully and put it back into the envelope.
After sitting quietly for a while, he wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes, took a deep breath with trembling hands, and returned to the door of the operating room.
This time, he felt like he was much calmer.
His world was no longer impetuous, but rather plunged into a dead silence. He patiently waited for his antidote to come out.
I don’t know how much time passed, it seemed like a century.
The doctor came out of the operating room, followed by the loud cry of the baby. He looked happy and said to Lu Wusui, “Congratulations, father and child are safe, the baby weighs 15 pounds.”
The tense string in Lu Wusui’s mind suddenly relaxed.
For a moment, he even felt a little dark in front of his eyes, and he was able to stand up only by holding on to the wall of the hospital.
”The baby is a little light, but it is healthy for being born so early,” the doctor asked. “You don’t know the baby’s gender yet?”
Lu Wusui asked in a hoarse voice, “Boy or girl?”
The doctor said, “It’s a little boy, his organs are well developed.”
During this time, Lu Wusui was very satisfied to know that Jianghuai was safe.
He didn’t care, his eyes were fixed on the door of the operating room, as if he could see Jiang Huai through the wall.
The operation actually doesn’t take very long, about the same time as an ordinary caesarean section.
Jiang Huai felt as if he had a sweet dream. He didn’t feel anything when he fell into a coma. When he woke up, he saw Lu Wusui’s face in front of him, which looked like he was laughing and crying.
The doctor was also standing nearby.
Lu Wusui wanted to hug him but didn’t know where to start, and he was visibly at a loss.
The doctor reminded me: “He has a surgical wound. It’s best not to touch him now. It won’t be too late to hold him after he recovers.”
Only then did Lu Wusui give up.
The effect of the anesthetic has not yet worn off and Jiang Huai’s consciousness has not fully recovered.
He felt like a naked baby, with no sense of security at all. After hearing what the doctor said, he even had the urge to cry: “No… don’t hold me…”
Lu Wusui didn’t hear clearly what he said at first, but he saw his anxious expression and became anxious too.
He came close to Jiang Huai and whispered to comfort him, “What do you want to do?”
Jiang Huai was unclear, tears welling up uncontrollably, “I want… I want a hug…”
Anesthetics affect not only the body, but also the brain and tongue. Lu Wusui checked the information and knew that this was a normal phenomenon for Jiang Huai.
But seeing Jiang Huai crying, he still felt distressed.
He ignored the doctor’s objection and went forward to hug Jiang Huai, feeling the familiar warmth and softness. His heart, which had been suspended for the whole morning, finally settled down, and he had a trance-like feeling that “both he and Jiang Huai survived.”
The doctor was helpless.
Many times, patients at this stage don’t even know what they are doing, and after the anesthetic wears off, the memory won’t even be preserved and they won’t be able to remember it at all.
Just answer the question, there is no need to actually hug.
Lu Wusui touched Jiang Huai’s face and asked softly, “Do you feel uncomfortable somewhere?”
Jiang Huai half-closed his eyes, which were full of tears. He choked and propped up his upper body, then lay back down. He ignored Lu Wusui and said to himself, “I’m hungry and want to eat.”
”This is really not possible,” the doctor said quickly, “You must not eat for six hours after the operation, wait for him to pass gas…”
Jiang Huai burst into tears.
doctor:”……”
Lu Wusui was like an ignorant parent. Seeing Jiang Huai suffer, he was so anxious that he didn’t know what to do. He wiped Jiang Huai’s tears and said, “He lied to you, how could he not let you eat? Be good, when you feel better, I will take you to eat hot pot and spicy fish.”
The doctor’s pupils trembled and he hesitated to speak.
Jiang Huai got the promise and his crying gradually stopped, but he was still sobbing.
His attention was diverted again. He wanted to raise his hand to touch his belly, but found that his hand had not yet regained feeling, so he asked aggrievedly: “Where’s the baby?”
The doctor said, “The baby is in the incubator. If you want to see it, you have to wait until you can get out of bed.”
Jiang Huai was shocked and said with his tongue sticking out: “It’s not in my stomach anymore?”
The doctor was confused by this question: “…Well, he’s gone.”
Jiang Huai heard this and started crying again. He was crying so sadly that it was incomprehensible. He sobbed, “Why is the baby not in my belly? He should be here… Baby, how can he not be in my belly, wuwuwu.”
Lu Wusui: “…”
doctor:”……”
Although the doctor was used to such scenes, he still found it difficult to watch. However, what puzzled him even more was that if it were any other family member, they would have laughed until they were bent over, and some would have even recorded the patient while laughing.
Not only did Lu Wusui not smile, he even looked gentle.
He grabbed a pillow from the side and placed it on Jiang Huai’s belly. He kissed Jiang Huai’s tear-soaked eyelashes and whispered, “The baby is not gone. Isn’t the baby still here?”
Jiang Huai raised his head with great effort.
After he confirmed that his belly was bulging, he immediately felt relieved. He blinked, pouting his cheeks like a little angel, and asked stupidly, “Still there?”
Lu Wusui said: “Still there.”
Jiang Huai breathed a sigh of relief.
Then, he fell asleep again.
After Jiang Huai fell asleep, Lu Wusui blinked his equally moist eyes, turned his head to look at the doctor, and said in a deep voice: “Thank you so much this time.”
The doctor waved his hands quickly, “It’s my job, it’s my duty.”
When Jiang Huai finally woke up, he and Lu Wusui were the only ones left in the ward.
His mind had returned to normal, the anesthetic had worn off, and with it came the pain from the surgical incision in his abdomen, but it was still within the tolerable range.
As soon as Jiang Huai opened his eyes, Lu Wusui noticed him and asked quickly, “Do you want some water?”
He nodded.
Without waiting for him to get up, Lu Wusui rocked the bed. Jiang Huai took his hand and drank a few sips. When his throat was no longer so dry, he asked, “Where’s the baby?”
It seems that he has forgotten everything that happened just now.
Lu Wusui paused, looking a little hesitant, “In the incubator.”
Jiang Huai sensitively caught his hesitation.
His eyes widened and he asked a little scared: “Is the baby healthy?”
”Healthy, definitely healthy,” Lu Wusui said quickly, “The doctor said he’s developing well. He was previously expected to stay in the incubator for a month, but now it’s estimated to only take half a month. If the situation gets better, the time can be shortened even further.”
Jiang Huai finally breathed a sigh of relief.
In fact, he always felt that he had forgotten something, but it might be because the effect of the anesthetic had just worn off and his brain was dull, so he couldn’t remember what it was at all.
Jiang Huai suddenly said: “I want to see him.”
Lu Wusui said: “The baby cannot leave the incubator yet, and you cannot get out of bed. Wait until you can get out of bed.”
Jiang Huai’s physical health has always been Lu Wusui’s bottom line.
Once his bottom line is touched, he will no longer obey Jiang Huai and his attitude will be very firm.
Jiang Huai was indeed a little bit unable to get out of bed. The wound on his abdomen hurt the slightest movement. In fact, the current medical level is advanced, and the hospital where Zou Xuan is located is professional. He suffered much less than most pregnant women.
But Lu Wusui was extremely nervous.
Jiang Huai said: “Just relax a little. You haven’t sat down since I woke up.”
Lu Wusui thought of what Jiang Huai said in the letter, and his expression became a little stiff.
He listened to Jiang Huai and sat down.
”Oh right,” Jiang Huai finally remembered what he had forgotten, “The baby is…”
”Tiantian,” Lu Wusui suddenly remembered something and quietly held his hand, “Our current society advocates equality between men and women, do you know this?”
He was a little nervous.
Just now at the door of the operating room, he was only concerned about Jiang Huai’s safety, and the gender of the child naturally had to be put aside.
Now……
Jiang Huai’s eyes lit up, as if he understood what he meant, “I know, this is as it should be. No gender should be discriminated against.”
Lu Wusui breathed a sigh of relief, “That’s good to know.”
”I think girls are so cute. I heard that many people look down on girls,” Jiang Huai sighed, “I don’t know what these people are thinking.”
Lu Wusui: “…Hmm…”
Jiang Huai’s tone changed, with worry and longing in his voice, “What should we do if our baby is discriminated against when she enters society? I must protect her well.”
”This…” Lu Wusui had never felt that a sentence was so hot, “You don’t have to worry about this.”
