Chapter 5: Fishing
599th Floor (OP):
We’re back at the place we’re staying. The owner has set it up quite nicely; maybe they hired a designer for it. It has a cozy bed and a real bed-and-breakfast vibe.
When we came here yesterday, c mentioned that he really liked it and hoped we could relax here for two days. These past couple of days, he’s been following his teacher around everywhere. While it’s a great learning opportunity, rationality and emotions always clash. I still don’t want him to work so hard.
The bed here is genuinely comfortable, big and soft. As soon as we got back, c flopped down on it again.
I’m washing the strawberries we picked, soaking them in saltwater. I’ll call c once they’re clean for him to eat.
We’re planning to go fishing this afternoon. The environment here is great. There’s a large pond behind the farmhouse where we can fish. They provide fishing gear too. After catching some fish, we’ll pick some vegetables and have a barbecue with other meat at night.
I probably shouldn’t have washed so many strawberries. It’s mealtime, and I shouldn’t let c eat too much, but every time he acts cute with me, I can’t resist… Oh well, do my best, try to make him eat less.
600th Floor:
OP, tsk tsk tsk – As expected, so timid.
601st Floor:
Damn, I wish my boyfriend could be like OP. Just act cute and all issues are resolved.
602nd Floor:
Haha, didn’t you say before that c listens to everything you say? Suspicious glances.jpg
603rd Floor:
Haha, listens to everything except strawberries.
604th Floor:
Got it, strawberries have a higher status than OP.
605th Floor:
Watch out, according to what OP said, it’s probably not just about strawberries. Any other matters that OP disagrees with, as long as c acts cute, he’ll unquestionably agree.
606th Floor:
Haha, why does OP think that c listens to everything he says? Ruthless mockery.jpg
607th Floor (OP):
OP: I don’t want it to be this way either, but I can’t resist when he acts cute.
608th Floor:
Haha, your response cracked me up. Vivid and expressive.
609th Floor (OP):
When I entered the room, my wife was sitting on the bed, eyes barely open, struggling to look at his phone. The half-asleep look was so adorable.
I handed him a strawberry by his mouth. He squinted his eyes and slowly ate it from my hand, gradually waking up.
I know he’s not necessarily required to stay awake right now; it’s just that he was so tired before and hasn’t fully recovered. I definitely want him to rest, but I’m worried that if he doesn’t have lunch now, he’ll be hungry and it won’t be good for his sleep later. So, I woke him up. He didn’t want to move, so he hugged my neck and rubbed against me, taking advantage of the fact that I couldn’t resist him. He might be a bit grumpy when he wakes up, but it’s limited to whining and making coquettish noises. A few more comforting words and he won’t be mad anymore.
610th Floor:
He rubs his neck, whines and pouts at you, and you still can’t get together? I don’t understand, seriously don’t.
611th Floor:
Even after all this, you’re still not together? I don’t get it, I really don’t.
612th Floor:
Being woken up is really painful. c not getting mad at you for waking him up is a sign of him being really nice to you.
613th Floor:
Not necessarily, some people don’t find it that uncomfortable.
614th Floor (OP):
c’s awake now. The owner has prepared lunch and is waiting for us. We’re heading for lunch now.
616th Floor:
Speaking of meals, does anyone have any delicious recommendations? I’m not sure what to eat lately.
617th Floor:
Instant noodles, they come in all sorts of flavors, suitable for those of us on a tight budget.
618th Floor:
Kung Pao Chicken! The place I ordered from yesterday was really tasty!!!
619th Floor:
Looking at this diet meal in front of me, I’m speechless.
…
658th Floor (OP):
We’ve finished lunch. For lunch, we had two meat dishes, two vegetable dishes, and a soup, all made from natural ingredients. The meat is raised by the owner himself, and the vegetables are grown by them too. The owner’s cooking skills are really impressive. c also enjoyed the meal a lot; it seems like he wants to learn from the owner.
Our little foodie has been captivated by the owner’s cooking. He said we can come here more often in the future, and of course, I agreed. Going out to play with my wife is just what I want. Moreover, he initiated the idea himself. Just thinking about it makes me feel happy.
I’ve been thinking, maybe I should learn how to cook as well. That way, the chances of a successful confession might increase, right? After all, my wife is a foodie.
But the last time I tried to use the kitchen, c found out and kicked me out. He said he can’t allow a kitchen destroyer like me in there, wuwuwu.
Let’s put the idea of learning cooking aside for now. We’re going to take a nap first. c has the habit of napping in the afternoon; even if it’s just ten minutes, he needs to sleep. If he skips a nap sometimes, he’s all lethargic in the afternoon, like a deflated balloon.
We booked only one room with a double bed. With the owner’s permission, we pushed the two beds together. It’s not like I’m trying to be naughty or take advantage; c just thought a bed made by pushing two beds together looked comfortable and ideal for rolling around.
Initially, I wanted to talk to the owner about something after c fell asleep, but he insisted on pulling me in to sleep with him. When he tugged at your sleeve and looked at you with those pitiful eyes, who could resist? Who could? Well, I certainly couldn’t.
Napping with my wife now, good afternoon everyone.
659th Floor:
? So, why did you book only one room? You’re wicked! You just want to take advantage!!!
660th Floor:
Agree with the one above!!! OP isn’t innocent at all, a real schemer!
661st Floor:
Wuwuwu, sharing a room with your wife, oh! I haven’t even got together with someone, yet my wife won’t let me get close at all, wuwuwu. Both chasing someone, why does OP get to escape the norm?
662nd Floor:
Because, OP’s got money. I wonder if OP’s good-looking though.
663rd Floor:
Honestly, most people have average looks, but if you groom and dress well, that fresh and clean look is quite good.
664th Floor:
Agree with the above. Clothing and hairstyle really can enhance one’s appearance. And there’s also the matter of temperament. Some guys always think they’re awesome, but they give off an air of mediocrity.
665th Floor:
I think OP’s looks should be alright, considering their family background. Their temperament should be fine too. They won’t end up looking like a spiritual guy with bad fashion sense.
666th Floor:
Spiritual boy hahaha!!! But what if they do hahaha!
667th Floor:
The current mystery of this thread, apart from whether c actually likes OP and why he won’t agree, now has the additional question of what the looks of both OP and c are like.
668th Floor:
Though I know the possibility of having super handsome guys in real life is too small, I still want to dream, hoping to encounter a high-visual couple.
669th Floor:
I’m curious too, but let’s lower our expectations. We’re all regular people. Just treat it as a story between two average individuals. The probability of a plot like two super handsome guys happening is small.
670th Floor:
Let’s focus on OP’s progress. OP still hasn’t managed to win someone over, hahaha.
671st Floor:
Who’s miserable?! Not having won someone over, yet cuddling and sleeping together every day. That’s not miserable at all!!! I’m the truly miserable one, never even held my wife’s hand!
672nd Floor:
The one above always jumps out to remind us that although OP hasn’t won someone over, it’s not worth pitying.
673rd Floor:
Indeed, OP might not have won someone over, but this is just depicting married life.
…
721st Floor (OP):
We’ve woken up. We’re heading to fish later. The fish bait has been prepared by the owner.
I must say, the owner’s service is really good. They can prepare everything for you. We just need to bring ourselves to play. In some places, you have to do everything yourself. Even though it’s experiencing life, when you’re tired, you just want to lie down and not move at all.
Regarding this pond, we glanced at it from the outside when we came here before, but we didn’t realize how big it actually is until now. We thought it was rented, but when we asked, we found out it belongs to the owner.
His son and daughter are doing well in big cities, and they wanted him to move there. However, he disagreed. The owner’s exact words were, “I’m doing well here. Why should I go live with them? They don’t have the leisurely life I have in their city.”
How did we end up on this tangent? I just wanted to share a bit about the owner’s life. He seems happy every day.
c and I arrived at the edge of the pond and realized that the pond is much bigger than we thought. c asked the owner if the fish here are easy to catch. The owner mysteriously said it depends on technique, then walked away.
There aren’t many people these two days. Only the two of us are fishing, while others have gone elsewhere. Being alone, it’s a bit delightful.
c hasn’t fished before, my grandpa really enjoyed fishing. He used to take me fishing when I was young, so I believe my skills are decent. I wonder if I can show off a bit in front of my wife. If he compliments me, I’ll modestly say I’m just average.
722nd Floor:
Darn it, there are so many rich people in the world. Why can’t I be one more!
723rd Floor:
Make it two more, include me.
724th Floor:
This is the retired life I’ve dreamed of! So envious!
725th Floor:
Fishing probably doesn’t have much of a progress bar to advance, so they might be imagining their retired life through the atmosphere?
726th Floor:
Who knows, considering OP’s way of thinking and their affectionate dynamic, something unexpected might happen again.
727th Floor:
Fishing takes quite a while, so what should we do now?
728th Floor:
Wait for OP to finish fishing.
729th Floor:
Ah, everyone listen to me! I’m the one who said I was going strawberry picking earlier. It seems like I actually bumped into OP and c!!!
780th Floor:
The one above? You should tell us first, and we’ll help you judge!
781st Floor:
!!!
You bumped into them? Are they handsome? Just break my fantasies, I can handle it.
782nd Floor:
Quick, quick, quick, tell us above, this shouldn’t be considered invading privacy, right?
783rd Floor:
Here’s the deal. Isn’t today a weekend? And I’m a struggling college student too. I went strawberry picking today to relax. And when I just arrived there, which is a rural recreation area, it felt like it matched exactly. A recreational farm that grows strawberries, with a large pond behind it, and now there are two guys fishing there, one in black and one in white!!! Ahhh, it’s definitely them!!!
I can confidently tell you all that OP and c are both top-tier handsome guys!!
They’re really easy to distinguish. OP is the kind of person who seems outgoing but won’t offend anyone. I might not be expressing it well, but he gives off the vibe of a friendly neighborhood older brother who takes you around. He’s also good-looking and has a good temper. Whether he’s talking to c or the owner, he does it with a smile, but with c, the smile is full of indulgence and affection.
As for c, he’s tall and handsome. I don’t know if the dance lessons OP mentioned earlier play a role, but he seems to be a bit thinner than OP, although the difference in body size is also good for hugging. c is really fair, so fair that I, a girl, am envious. I now fully understand what OP meant by “fair and soft.”
If OP is more extroverted and warm towards people, making people want to be friends with him, then c speaks in a gentle and introverted manner, making you want to dote on him, and you can’t help but lower your voice around him.
Every time OP talks to him, c smiles especially sweetly, and the two dimples on his cheeks melt my heart. They’re inseparable in my eyes, and it’s only a matter of time before they get together. Ahhh, after having my heart shattered, I feel like I can ship a couple again, wuwuwu.
784th Floor:
Wow, is this novel becoming reality? Isn’t this more enjoyable to ship than those forced celebrity couples? The main characters are giving us sugar!
785th Floor:
Those celebrity couples in the entertainment industry are not only fake, but their looks are just average and they exaggerate their beauty…
786th Floor:
The entertainment industry has had enough of those bitter and ugly men!
787th Floor:
While it’s not fair to generalize, in the entertainment industry nowadays, whether it’s about looks or talent… sigh, I won’t say more, I’m afraid I’ll get attacked later.
788th Floor:
The one above, what nonsense. Our forum doesn’t have as many internet trolls as certain blogs do. The atmosphere here is much better. Whoever tries to bring in that fandom conflict nonsense will get permanently banned.
789th Floor (OP):
…
It’s over, I’ve upset c. Why couldn’t I control my mouth? I blurted out whatever came to my mind. c is rightfully angry, it’s all my fault. What do I do now? I need to quickly go and appease my wife.
790th Floor:
Did fishing actually cause a problem?
791st Floor:
What’s going on with OP?
792nd Floor:
Did you make my little angel mad, OP? What did you do, you annoying man!
793rd Floor:
Selling sunflower seeds and soda in the front row, anyone interested?
