He and Her Cat
He and Her Cat – Chapter 6

CHAPTER 6: DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT?

Later, the group split up, scattering around the supermarket in twos and threes.

Jiang Yuyu stayed behind chatting with Abu, leaving Shu Jia on her own.

Holding the yogurt she’d just bought, Shu Jia sighed and decided to wander around by herself.

That friend-abandoning, man-chasing Jiang Yuyu had completely ditched her, saying she was “creating an opportunity” for her.

What opportunity, huh? The supermarket was huge, and she couldn’t even catch a glimpse of Zhou Dang anywhere…

Shu Jia thought silently to herself.

She wandered aimlessly for a while, not sure what to buy. Then she suddenly remembered her younger cousin liked chocolate and decided to grab a box of Ferrero Rocher.

Who knew that with just one turn, she’d be caught completely off guard, frozen on the spot.

Zhou Dang was behind her, leaning lazily against a shopping rack, watching her.

He was wearing black sports shorts, his calves bare, his whole posture languid and casual.

The light around them was a little glaring.

Her heart was in a mess. She clutched the bag in her hands tightly, her face slowly turning red.

“That…” Shu Jia paused for a few seconds, then cautiously asked, “Were you looking for me?”

A short silence followed.

“Mm.” His voice was hoarse, sounding like he had just woken up, carrying a touch of weariness.

When Zhou Dang wasn’t gaming, he always gave off a languid, tired air, his eyes seeming unfocused. Careless, uninterested in many things.

At a loss, Shu Jia’s gaze lingered on Zhou Dang’s face for a few seconds before she forced herself to look away. “What is it?”

“You left something at my place.” Zhou Dang looked at her, speaking casually.

“Your earring.”

Shu Jia was stunned, and in the next instant she suddenly remembered the star-shaped earring she had mysteriously lost a few days ago.

No wonder she had searched everywhere and couldn’t find it—it turned out someone else had picked it up…

She quickly thanked him. “Thank you. Do you have it with you?”

“No.”

Shu Jia felt she was terrible at conversations. Her mind went blank, not knowing how to continue.

Watching her nervousness, he suddenly gave a small laugh. “I’ll give it to you when I have time.”

“Alright.” Shu Jia agreed.

…..

When she returned home, her cousin was still sprawled on the sofa watching TV, the coffee table cluttered with a stack of used dishes.

Setting down her things, Shu Jia sighed helplessly. “Xu Jiaying, can’t you behave like a girl?”

Hearing her voice, her cousin looked over and grinned. “Honestly, with such a hardworking cousin like you, why should I bother doing anything?”

Shu Jia shook her head and began tidying up the mess. “So lazy. No wonder your mom nags at you every day.”

Her cousin gave her an innocent look.

“Cousin, I can very clearly sense that you’re in a good mood right now.”

Shu Jia couldn’t help but laugh. “Your eye for detail isn’t bad.”

Her cousin lifted her chin proudly and sniffed dismissively. “It’s not me—it’s you. You’re so obvious, you reek of that sour smell of being in love.”

Shu Jia was hit right in the heart, suddenly feeling guilty for no reason. She brushed it off with, “What nonsense are you thinking all day?”

After cleaning up, she went back to her room and took a shower.

Sitting on her bed drying her hair, she suddenly remembered the Weibo post Jiang Yuyu had shown her.

So, sneakily, she opened her alt account, secretly followed a few of Wan’s female fans, and indulged her curiosity.

She silently lurked, watching these fans post about him, and felt like she had joined some sort of cult.

Because their posts mostly went something like this:

@ALexssandra’sDangDangDang: Passing out, fainting, suffocating, exploding on the spot—yep, that’s a plane blowing up in the sky and I’m on it, my life belongs to him what do you want me to do, save me I’m dying please someone save me he’s too good this man is too handsome he’s too addictive wuwuwu mom this man is too cute please help me quit him.

@WAN’sLittleFairy: Triple front flips, backflips with splits, spinning on the spot, three-step jump, four-step jump, single-arm Thomas spin, feathered king rotation 180 degrees, leaping in the air just to blow my DangDang a kiss.

@DangWan’sAkinaMountainGod: Every time I see my Dang’s godly beauty I just… explode and die, hemorrhagic shock, kidney-deficiency dementia, faint like Fan Jin, crazy like Zhang the cow, restless like a butt party.

@WhoIsZhouDangIDontKnow: I feel like I can’t afford to love Wan anymore…

@WanIsMyMan: I have no conscience, all handsome men are my husbands.

Weird and ridiculous stuff, all of it.

To Shu Jia, it was like discovering a brand new world—she couldn’t stop laughing.

Scrolling and scrolling, she suddenly stumbled on a very serious one. She froze for a moment.

To my Great Demon King Wan:

A love letter to Zhou Dang.

Many people know Wan, but don’t know his real name is Zhou Dang.

He’s 19 this year, a quiet boy who doesn’t show much expression whether he wins or loses.

In esports, the first thing people notice is always skill, then looks, and only after that, personality.

He has so many fans because of his incredible mechanics, giving us countless surprises.

1v1 solo kills, 1v2 outplays, 1v3 escapes, sneaky flanks in teamfights, endless perfect CS. He’s the Wan God we always talk about.

On looks, Wan is definitely the recognized face of the LPL, but he’s had almost no scandals, never exploiting his female fans’ affection.

And then there are the little details—playing scrims even with a fever, rarely taking part in entertainment activities. Even caster Keke once said Wan not only has talent, but most importantly, he works incredibly hard…

On stage, he never shows much emotion, but he always turns the tide with his performance.

He even led Four Waves to base-fountain camp, which became a classic moment in fans’ memories.

He’s the kind of presence that gives his teammates peace of mind—the best ADC in my eyes.

Zhou Dang, I’m glad I met you.

Dedicated to the best Wan, and to all the little fangirls of WR.

Word by word, Shu Jia read carefully, trying to imagine Zhou Dang in the eyes of his fans.

As if by doing this, she could make up for the regret of not having met him earlier. For not being able to experience victories and defeats, joys and sorrows alongside him.

She lay on her bed. Even with the window shut, she could still hear the sound of cars passing outside.

The lights were left on, dim and hazy.

The small lamp on the ceiling glowed a soft yellow, shining right into her eyes. Her heart felt like it was being slowly roasted under that gentle light.

Thinking of Zhou Dang, she suddenly recalled a line she had once read long ago in a book:

A chance encounter is a fleeting feeling.

I believe in love at first sight, and I only believe in love at first sight.

Zhou Dang.

I believe in love at first sight.

What about you?

2 a.m., at the WR base.

Fresh out of the shower, Zhou Dang walked back into his room shirtless, towel-drying his damp hair.

GGBond, who had been lying on his bed playing with his phone, instantly sprang up when he saw him. “DangDang, God Dang, how come you were out grocery shopping with a girl today? And so fast too!”

Zhou Dang sat down on his bed, ignoring him.

GGBond gave a lewd grin. “You—silent all the time, and then boom, one shot one kill, reeling in Wild God’s dream girl just like that.”

Zhou Dang narrowed his eyes as usual, voice filled with impatience. “Get lost.”

GGBond bounded over, plopping down beside him, still chattering nonstop. “You tsundere. First time meeting her and you were already staring her down. Aaron and I even made a bet—this girl’s definitely your type…”

“Are you done yet?”

“I’m not done. The one who’s in trouble is you. How will you face your millions of heartbroken fangirls?” GGBond grinned wickedly. “Our Wan here, 19 years old, finally at the age of budding romance.”

Clicking his tongue, he shook his head while scrolling through Shu Jia’s Weibo on his phone.

“This girl’s pretty nice.”

He came across a fan’s comment and read it out loud:

Soft body, snowy skin, beautiful like a flower.

“Hahaha, it’s just yoga, why does it sound so dirty?”

Zhou Dang snatched his phone away, lowering his head—and right there was a photo.

Shu Jia, legs stretched into a perfect split, hands braced on the floor in front of her, half-leaning forward. Her long hair tied up, exposing the pale curve of her neck.

From behind him, GGBond kicked at him. “Careful you don’t get hard staring, no one’s gonna help you with that.”

Author’s Note:
Maaa! I wanna marry Zhou Dang! (/ω\)

I’m updating so diligently and yet nobody praises me!
Fine, this trash author won’t bother with daily updates anymore! ╭(╯^╰)╮

Also, I’ve decided to drop that overly “fresh and elegant” title.
Let’s stick with something more straightforward and vulgar — totally suits my style =3
