He Can Hear My Thoughts: A Tease Like Me, Loved by a 70s Soldier Chapter 24

Chapter 24

Secretary Wang replied, “Yes, Chief.”

The two of them went to Secretary Wang’s office. Chief Chen glanced toward the door.

Secretary Wang, understanding his intent, closed it.

Chief Chen asked about the events of the previous day. “Tell me everything that happened after you and Regiment Commander Lu arrived at the Baila Temple. I want a full report, no details left out.”

Secretary Wang hesitated. “Did Comrade Song really report Comrade Gu for sabotaging a military marriage?”

Chief Chen said coldly, “Did I ask you that?”

Secretary Wang quickly began recounting everything, even doing his best to repeat each word Song Si had said.

Chief Chen listened in silence.

[Holy crap, my heart! What a damn fine rugged man!]
[That face, that build, that body, those long legs… I can’t take it. This is exactly my type. Just one look and my preferences are going wild.]
[What? I can’t even hug my own husband now? Not only will I hug him, I’m gonna touch too!]
[Tsk, he’s packing!]

Hearing that, Chief Chen coughed softly, his old face turning a bit red.

The young girl looked so obedient and well-behaved… who would’ve thought she had such a bold side?

But it seemed he finally understood what had happened!

The young lady had seduced that brat Lu Yancheng, and he’d finally lost control. So, last night, they must have consummated the marriage.

Truly, when a woman chases a man, it’s like crossing a thin veil!

Secretary Wang’s face was completely flushed. “Chief Chen, I don’t know if I should say this, but…”

Chief Chen, already suspecting something, said, “Speak.”

Secretary Wang explained, “I was standing right next to Regiment Commander Lu. Song didn’t say a word, but we all inexplicably heard those voices.”

Chief Chen didn’t seem surprised at all. “Who else heard them?”

Secretary Wang replied, “Quite a few of the locals.”

Chief Chen nodded. “There are already rumors going around that the Baila Temple is haunted and that Comrade Xiao Song is possessed. You need to keep things under control. The moment you notice any signs of superstition, stamp it out immediately.”

Secretary Wang responded quickly, “Understood, Chief Chen.”

Chief Chen gave him one last glance. “That’ll be all.”

When he returned to Song Si’s dorm, he looked sternly at Gu Chen. “Now, tell me: what’s the legal punishment for sabotaging a military marriage?”

Gu Chen, pale-faced, recited the punishment.

Chief Chen said, “Good, so you’re aware. Now I have another question. I want the full truth. If you try to hide anything, Secretary Wang here will file a serious demerit against you.”

Gu Chen quickly replied, “I wouldn’t dare, sir.”

Chief Chen asked in a low voice, “Yesterday at the Baila Temple, how exactly did Regiment Commander Lu’s wife, Comrade Song, fall and lose consciousness?”

Gu Chen’s breath hitched, and his face turned paler by the second.

In the past, no matter what happened, Comrade Song would’ve covered for him.

But now, she was all over Lu Yancheng and hadn’t come to him at all today. For the first time, he wasn’t so confident anymore.

Could she really not like him anymore?

“S-She didn’t mention it to you?”

Chief Chen’s voice was authoritative. “I want to hear it from you, not her.”

Gu Chen stammered, “Well… she wanted me to write to my family and break off my engagement with the fiancée they arranged. I refused. She grabbed me, we struggled a bit, and she accidentally fell.”

Chief Chen asked, “Did she lose consciousness?”

Gu Chen thought about it. “She was probably unconscious for a few minutes.”

To be honest, he’d been a bit scared at the time—afraid she might actually die. He hadn’t dared go near her and just stood off to the side waiting.

After a few minutes, Song Si woke up.

Chief Chen continued, “Did anything unusual happen at that time?”

Gu Chen thought hard, then shook his head.

Chief Chen’s voice turned cold. “So, you’re saying the rumor that Comrade Xiao Song is possessed didn’t come from you?”

Gu Chen let out a breath of relief. “Of course not, sir! I’m a firm materialist!”

Chief Chen said, “Go back to your work, then.”

Gu Chen didn’t dare linger and immediately left, afraid that even a second of hesitation might earn him a disciplinary action—something that could ruin his entire future.

Once Gu Chen was gone, Chief Chen turned to Secretary Wang. “Find out who started the superstitious rumors and deal with it seriously.”

Secretary Wang nodded. “Yes, Chief Chen.”

Chief Chen looked at Song Dalong and Li Li. “Regiment Commander Lu and Si Si will probably be spending quite a bit of time in the city. Don’t be in a hurry—just rest here and wait patiently.”

Qin Hua added, “And about what I mentioned earlier—please give it serious thought.”

Song Dalong and Li Li nodded and saw them off respectfully.

Once they were out of sight, the couple returned to Song Si’s room with grim faces.

Song Dalong asked, “What do we do now?”

Li Li was fuming, with nowhere to vent. “I don’t care. If we have to burn bridges, so be it. That regiment commander’s wife title must go to Nian Nian.”

The system was even more frustrated.

It couldn’t do anything to the chief and his wife because they were under protection.

And as for Song Dalong and Li Li—they were hopeless. It was deeply disappointed. Just a few words, and they folded.

That afternoon, Song Si and Lu Yancheng finally returned to the military district, having bought a lot of things.

Once at the bachelor apartments, Lu Yancheng carried bag after bag up to the second floor.

They had also ordered a new bed and a Simmons mattress, which would be delivered in a few days once they called to confirm.

Song Si put the receipts away and glanced at Lu Yancheng.

When it comes to that stuff, Lu Yancheng is more aggressive than a boatman. He picked this mattress specifically for his own comfort, to protect his poor back. Sigh… it’s just so damn expensive.

Lu Yancheng, who was organizing things, suddenly froze.

Back at the mall, she hadn’t had many inner thoughts.

And with all the people and background music, the occasional ones had been hard to catch.

Now, he finally knew what she had been muttering about while eyeing the mattress.

And finally, he understood what she meant by “boatman”…

She pulled out the gifts she had specially bought for Deputy Commander Zhang’s wife, Dani, Uncle Chen, and Auntie Qin. “Let’s rest a bit and deliver these later, okay?”

Lu Yancheng replied, “Alright.”

After tidying up, he glanced at her again with his dark eyes. “Feeling better now?”

Song Si paused, noticing the look on his face.

Him…
Ugh, isn’t this what Madam Lin called “midday lust”? Lu Yancheng, you sure this is a good idea?

Lu Yancheng: “…”

He had definitely been thinking about it just now, but her sudden remark doused half of the fire in him.

He glanced at the clock—it was already 3:00 p.m.

His parents said they’d come over at 5:00.

There would probably be arguments then—definitely no mood for anything intimate afterward.

Besides, once she was pregnant, his parents would have nothing more to say.

He walked over, drew the curtains, and righteously declared, “Didn’t we agree to have a baby? We need to be proactive.”

Song Si: “…”

Lu Yancheng walked up to her, scooped her into his arms, held her thighs, and kissed her passionately.

Compared to the first time, he was far more experienced.

Things progressed naturally and quickly.

His voice turned hoarse. “Si Si, you’re so beautiful right now…”

Song Si was drenched in sweat.

She had expected to suffer again today—but to her surprise, it was a whole different experience!

Compared to yesterday, it was like two extremes. It felt like she was either burning in fire or drowning in waves—as if clinging to his neck was the only way to survive.

This time, she didn’t say a word aloud—but her mind was full of… vivid commentary.

Hearing all her R-rated thoughts, Lu Yancheng bit down on her lips, kissing and devouring her hungrily, as though he’d never get enough.
