He Left a Kiss on the Rose Chapter 22

Chapter 22: Slapping Her

The entire hall erupted in cheers, everyone looking at the rebellious, fearless young man with admiration.

Everyone wanted to be him, yet no one could surpass him.

Perhaps others would find such behavior awkward and childish, but this was Jiang Sheng, the most arrogant and overbearing prince among the group of young masters in the capital’s elite circle. If he said he dared, he definitely dared.

Ning Qiutang met his gaze, seeing the unfathomable ambition and unrestrained arrogance in the young man’s eyes.

“Wow, your idol is so cool.”

Yu Jiaojiao greatly admired and envied the prince’s flamboyant and domineering nature. Students had long wanted to rebel.

Ning Qiutang withdrew her gaze, putting on her Bluetooth headset to listen to English comprehension: “You need to take the IELTS for studying abroad, and you need to use English in daily life. Don’t tell me you can’t do anything.”

“But I really can’t, I’m a Chinese person, learning these foreign languages feels wrong.”

Yu Jiaojiao was always good at making herself sound reasonable.

Jiang Sheng and his group were eventually taken away by the headmaster, and everyone was free to leave.

Ning Qiutang sat in the classroom, looking at the poem she had written, hesitant about whether to use the one from her previous life for the competition.

“Wow, it’s so good.”

“…”

“The mountains echo with sorrow”

“The spring slumber is shrouded in mist, cold”

“And the snow that cannot escape eight thousand miles”

“Is it resolute, is it hopeless, is it his winter campaign.”

“…”

“Small bridge, flowing water, houses.”

“Seeing Jiangnan, not seeing her.”

Yu Jiaojiao, lacking in literary talent, praised her best friend’s masterpiece with exaggerated gestures.

Ning Qiutang looked at her helplessly: “Can you understand it?”

Yu Jiaojiao shook her head: “I don’t need to understand it.”

As they were talking, someone came over to call Ning Qiutang.

“Ning Qiutang, the teacher wants you to go to the training room to be a practice partner for those participating in the competition.”

Yu Jiaojiao said, “They’re so precious, they need our top ten students to be their practice partners.”

The student didn’t dare to say anything, but they delivered the message.

Ning Qiutang still went, because if she didn’t, the teacher would have to come find her personally.

The training room was a new classroom, and several people were still cleaning.

Shen Wanwan came over with a cleaning cloth: “Ning classmate, you’re here.”

“This new training room is still too big, let’s all clean it together.”

Everyone else went about their own business.

Ning Qiutang glanced at someone, not wanting to stay with her.

Shen Wanwan actively showed off, quickly becoming friendly with others. She waited for a while and found that the woman who should have been making things difficult for her had actually left.

Ning Qiutang felt like her soul was being pulled away. She wanted to wash the cloth and leave, but she actively walked into the classroom, arrogantly and condescendingly said to Shen Wanwan who was mopping the floor.

“You like cleaning so much, right? This entire classroom is yours to clean, no one else is allowed to touch it.”

The girl was arrogant and domineering, a perfect portrayal of a pampered young lady. She stared at the girl in the middle of the classroom, who looked unconvinced, her attitude strong and contemptuous.

The rest of the students filed out of the classroom, afraid to disobey.

They knew Ning Qiutang had the power to make anyone who disobeyed her suffer.

After all, she was the big sister.

Shen Wanwan smirked, a triumphant look flashing across her face. No one else noticed, but she stared defiantly at her opponent. “What if I don’t?”

“Don’t think you can do whatever you want just because everyone is afraid of you. Ning Qiutang, you’re targeting me like this, aren’t you afraid the teacher will find out? And Jiang Sheng, he’s…”

Ning Qiutang was shocked. Why was she saying these things? Why was she so blatantly targeting Shen Wanwan? Was she crazy?

But she couldn’t stop herself. She could only listen to herself continue to spew harsh words. “Don’t mention him to me. You think you can get away with acting wild in front of me just because you have some kind of relationship with him? Even if he were here, I’d still make you look good.”

“Clean it up quickly, don’t make me unhappy.”

Shen Wanwan was filled with righteous indignation. She dropped the mop and was about to leave. “I want to see if there’s still any justice in this school!”

“You really think you’re in charge?”

Ning Qiutang glared at her and rushed over to grab her. “I am the law, and I think you’re looking to die.”

She grabbed Shen Wanwan’s hand tightly, pushing her towards the door, and raised her hand to slap her.

At that moment, the door at the entrance was pushed open.

Jiang Sheng grabbed Ning Qiutang’s wrist with a stoic expression, and Shen Wanwan quickly hid behind him in fear.

“Ning Qiutang, you’re crazy! You dare to hit someone in broad daylight!”

Everyone else subconsciously closed their eyes. They hadn’t seen anything.

Only then did Ning Qiutang feel like she could control her own body. She stared blankly at Jiang Sheng, who had suddenly appeared.

“I…”

“What do you think you’re doing?” Jiang Sheng asked coldly, his fingers tightening around her wrist as if he were going to break it.

Ning Qiutang’s blood seemed to freeze. Her face turned pale, and she couldn’t believe what had just happened. She had actually been an outsider, watching herself uncontrollably do and say things.

How could this be?

Had her condition worsened?

Faced with Jiang Sheng’s questioning, she felt extremely wronged. Her eyes welled up with tears, and a sour feeling welled up in her chest. She bit her lower lip, trying to hold back the tears.

But how could she control these tears that were bursting forth, just as she had been unable to control her body before?

She felt utterly hopeless. She pushed Jiang Sheng away forcefully, her voice filled with confusion and despair.

“What do you think I was doing? You saw it all.”

Jiang Sheng’s gaze was like a bottomless abyss, radiating a sense of death. “If you hit someone yourself, your hand will hurt.”

He turned his head and looked coldly at Shen Wanwan, who was hiding behind him, oblivious to the danger.

Ning Qiutang’s heart went up and down like a roller coaster. She looked at the young man standing beside her in disbelief. What was he saying?

The teacher came over and saw that something was wrong.

“What’s going on?”

Shen Wanwan immediately told her what had happened.

The teacher frowned at Ning Qiutang, who was known to do such things. “You’re bullying your classmate?”

“Everyone saw it,” Shen Wanwan added.

The teacher looked at the witnesses.

Everyone shook their heads. “We were cleaning the whole time. We didn’t see anything.”

Shen Wanwan’s face turned ugly, and her fists clenched.

The teacher looked at the group of students with a strange expression. “Jiang Sheng, you’re the one who’s bullying her, right?”

Ning Qiutang: “…”

Jiang Sheng laughed coldly. “Yes, it’s me again.”
