Chapter 30: There’s No Misunderstanding Between Us
“You’re joking, our school has always emphasized all-round development, including morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. Their good qualities prove that the physical education classes we arrange are quite useful.”
Lin Xianhe breathed a sigh of relief, glanced at his nephew who was smiling in a way that was both intriguing and suggestive, and quickly ushered the leaders away.
Shen Wanwan was about to twist the water bottle in her hand into a mess.
She couldn’t smile, and glared fiercely at Ning Qiutang, who was basking in the limelight. She didn’t stay any longer and turned to leave.
Jiang Sheng walked back, watching Ning Qiutang, who seemed to have won a battle. The aloof and unattainable young man appeared even more distant and noble in everyone’s eyes.
“I told you I would win.”
Ning Qiutang looked into his eyes, “I don’t care about winning or losing, but you won, congratulations.”
Jiang Sheng was displeased, raising his hand to touch her head.
Ning Qiutang instinctively dodged, and he reached out to adjust her hair.
The young man said calmly, “Before the basketball game, Qin Dang told others that he was going to teach you a lesson, to make Shen Wanwan happy.”
So he had given the young Master Qin a good beating.
Ning Qiutang was a little surprised, but he was defending her, so she didn’t want to be ungrateful. “So that’s how it was. When you stopped that ball for me earlier, the joint on your hand was scraped.”
She had seen the scratch on his hand earlier, it seemed quite serious.
Jiang Sheng turned his hand over, revealing the bleeding wound. “Come with me to the infirmary.”
“Okay.” Ning Qiutang readily agreed.
Jiang Sheng handed her the backpack hanging behind him.
“Let’s go.” The young man walked ahead.
Ning Qiutang followed behind, asking Yu Jiaojiao to wait for her at the cafeteria.
The school had a vineyard, and every year at graduation, the seniors would collect the grapes and make wine, which would be used for the graduation ceremony the following year.
They walked under the lush grape vines, and Jiang Sheng suddenly stopped and turned to look at her.
“Why didn’t you bring me water?”
Ning Qiutang gave a startled “ah,” clearly not expecting him to ask that.
“I did bring you some, but you wouldn’t take it.”
Jiang Sheng frowned, “When did you bring me some? I didn’t take any?”
The Crown Prince was a high-profile person, but he didn’t often play basketball at school, especially when it was crowded. Today was indeed his first time.
Ning Qiutang hadn’t had the chance to bring him water.
At least not in this life.
“Then I’ll bring you some next time, okay?” She didn’t think it was a big deal.
Jiang Sheng clicked his tongue, grinding his molars, his face turning cold.
After the infirmary dealt with his injury, it was time for class.
Ning Qiutang had done what she needed to do, and wanted to find Yu Jiaojiao to have lunch, she was starving.
Jiang Sheng grabbed her wrist, “Where are you going?”
“To eat, of course.” Ning Qiutang looked at him in confusion, trying to struggle.
Jiang Sheng pulled her along, “Let’s go together.”
Ning Qiutang: “…”
He wasn’t supposed to dislike the school’s food and never eat there.
Yu Jiaojiao was waiting in the cafeteria, her flowers were almost wilting.
Seeing her best friend and the campus heartthrob coming together, her eyes lit up.
Oh my god, something’s definitely going on between them.
Ning Qiutang gratefully glanced at Yu Jiaojiao, who had already gotten her food.
Jiang Sheng’s meal was delivered by Chen Jinshi.
Yu Jiaojiao said, “I’m going, I won’t disturb your little world.”
“No, it’s fine, we’re just having lunch.” Ning Qiutang was really embarrassed, and Jiang Sheng was really a persistent ghost.
Jiang Sheng seemed approachable, not minding having a third person around.
Yu Jiaojiao, pretending to be brave, asked, “Jiang Sheng, why did you help Shen Wanwan bully Tangtang before?”
“And you can’t treat Tangle like something you can summon and dismiss at will. You ignored her for so long, now you want to win her back?”
Ning Tangle desperately winked at her, “You’re so brave, you dare to say anything.”
Jiang Sheng had no interest in the food on his plate. He casually took a few bites and said, “I didn’t help Shen Wanwan.”
“Any adult should have the ability to discern rumors.”
Yu Jiaojiao was insulted again.
“Shen Wanwan deliberately antagonized you on the first day she transferred. Why did you let her off? You didn’t pursue her breaking the time clock you wouldn’t let anyone touch.”
“You used to get angry at Tangle for even touching you.”
Ning Tangle could only close her eyes, wishing she could escape.
“Do you want to know why?” Jiang Sheng asked Ning Tangle, who had been keeping herself out of it.
Ning Tangle shook her head, “No.”
Because it had nothing to do with her.
Yu Jiaojiao looked at her best friend anxiously, “Why not? The misunderstanding is because you won’t say anything and she won’t listen, that’s how it became like this.”
Ning Tangle said confidently, “There is no misunderstanding between us.”
“Okay, as long as you don’t regret it.” Yu Jiaojiao didn’t bother anymore.
—
Jiang Sheng found a place to take a nap.
Chen Jinshi nagged in his ear, “You didn’t see the look on Qin Dang’s face. You should have hit him harder and given him a couple of black eyes.”
“But you’ve been paying too much attention to Ning Tangle lately. Are you really falling for her?”
“It doesn’t seem like it…”
Jiang Sheng heard a piano melody, slowly overlapping with the music he often heard in his dreams.
“Shut up.” He followed the sound to the piano room.
He saw the person inside through the glass on the door.
“Why is Shen Wanwan here?” Chen Jinshi was surprised. It was strange that this girl from the slums could play the piano.
And she played so well.
Jiang Sheng watched the girl sitting gracefully in the piano room, his expression cold and dark. Everything was like someone else, what was she.
This melody wasn’t obscure, it just had subtle differences depending on who played it.
He pushed the door open.
Shen Wanwan immediately turned her head and looked at him with surprise.
“Jiang classmate.”
“Who taught you to play like that?” Jiang Sheng walked in with his noble and elegant demeanor, his steps seemed to tread on people’s hearts, dangerous and ready to crush you at any moment.
Shen Wanwan looked at him innocently, “No one taught me, I figured it out myself.”
Jiang Sheng saw the shadow of the woman in his dream in her, but it was laughably fake.
“A poor imitator.” He coldly commented.
Shen Wanwan’s heart almost leaped out of her chest. She could sense keenly that he might know something.
“This is really my own playing.”
Jiang Sheng’s expression became enveloped in a chill. He walked over and kicked the piano, “Don’t let me see you play the piano again, or next time it won’t be the piano that gets broken.”
After saying that, the cruel, vicious, and bad boy walked out, passing the piano.
Chen Jinshi immediately followed.
Shen Wanwan looked back at the luxurious piano, her mood extremely agitated.
In the plot, the starting point of the male and female leads was this piano piece, and it was even taught by the male lead himself. How could this be?
