Chapter 33: Jiang Sheng Kneels and Apologizes
Jiang Sheng’s face instantly turned from sunny to cloudy, his dark eyes seemed to suppress a devastating storm, and a chilling coldness swept over him in an instant.
“Ning Qiutang.”
The boy’s anger was undeniable.
Ning Qiutang took the opportunity to push him away, freeing herself. She clenched her fist and began to feel afraid: “Who told you to act like a hooligan?”
“This is my house, watch out or my dad will come down and beat you to death.”
Jiang Sheng touched his face. For the first time in his life, he had been slapped. His cold gaze fell upon the woman who seemed oblivious to danger.
“Good, next time I should just act like a hooligan.”
Ning Qiutang glared at him for his shameless behavior, feeling like she would have to keep hitting and scolding him if he kept trying to kiss her.
“Don’t we need to go to your house? Let’s go.”
She conceded defeat. There was no point in trying to out-shame a madman.
Jiang Sheng stood up, staring at her audacious behavior. He could have easily strangled her, but she was truly afraid of what he might do.
“Let’s go.”
He was being magnanimous. He turned and left.
Ning Qiutang breathed a sigh of relief, almost thinking she was going to be killed again.
Carrying the gift box her mother had asked her to bring, she obediently followed the boy to the car.
As she sat in the car, feeling like she was on pins and needles, she realized they were going in the wrong direction.
“Jiang Sheng, aren’t we going to your house? Where are we going?”
“You know the Black Rock Rainbow Auction, right? You dared to hit me, now you have to pay the price.”
Jiang Sheng looked at her with amusement, his cold and ruthless eyes filled with the pleasure of revenge. He was playing with her like a little rabbit.
The Rainbow Auction, as the name suggests, involves dividing a person into seven parts, covering them with seven different colored cloths, and then auctioning them off. The colors, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, increase in price, and the head is covered with violet cloth.
Ning Qiutang’s face turned pale with fear. She had no doubt that he was capable of doing something so lawless to her. She trembled and looked at him pitifully.
With a thud, she knelt at his feet. “Wuwuwu, I was wrong, I shouldn’t have hit you. Why don’t you just slap me back? We’re neighbors, don’t do this to me…”
“I don’t want to be dismembered, Jiang Sheng. Please be merciful, spare me this time. I’ll leave the country immediately and never appear in front of you again.”
Ning Qiutang felt a chill run down her spine. She remembered how she died in her previous life, and now it seemed she couldn’t escape it. She grabbed his leg tightly and cried her heart out.
Jiang Sheng’s face was dark. He pulled her up. He wasn’t dead yet, and this woman was kneeling and crying, it was bad luck.
“Miss Ning, today the old master and the old mistress went to the Pudu Temple to burn incense and pray for family safety, so they won’t be going to the old house.”
Even the driver was surprised. The young master was scary, but Miss Ning didn’t need to be so scared, did she?
Ning Qiutang’s cries stopped abruptly. Tears continued to stream down her cheeks. She was truly terrified. She turned back to look at Jiang Sheng’s disgusted expression.
“Really?”
Jiang Sheng endured the discomfort and pulled out some tissues to wipe her tears. “What do you think? Do you really think I’d kill you to vent my anger?”
“You’re not incapable of doing that. You’re cruel and vicious, ruthless and cold-hearted, heartless and merciless, a killer…” Ning Qiutang accidentally blurted out her inner thoughts. She immediately felt a chill run down her spine. Her intelligence at this moment was comparable to Einstein’s.
“But then again, that’s what outsiders say. In reality, Third Brother is cold on the outside but warm on the inside, he’s righteous, intelligent, and friendly.”
That should be better, right?
Jiang Sheng was also impressed by her careful and cautious words. This woman could change her face faster than a book could be flipped.
“You say I’m so good, don’t you still like me?”
Here we go again!
Ning Qiutang wished she was a mute at that moment.
“Third Brother~ I’m shy.”
She pretended to be clueless and never answered directly, hoping that her affected demeanor would disgust him.
Jiang Sheng looked at her shrewd and calculating face and sneered coldly: “You’re shy my ass.”
The words were rough but true, but your words were too rough.
Ning Qiutang dared not say that, she choked back tears and looked extremely wronged.
“Why are you not satisfied, then just kill me.”
For a moment, Jiang Sheng really didn’t know if she was truly afraid of death or fearless, a woman full of tricks.
“Shut up.”
He chose to ignore her, closed his eyes and rested, trying to calm the anger in his heart.
Ning Qiutang hummed in response, forced to obey.
Finally, they reached the mountain.
She couldn’t wait to get out of the car and run into the temple.
Jiang Sheng followed behind listlessly, watching her desperately flee and sneered, running away is the most useless form of resistance.
Grandma Jiang saw the girl in the green dress coming from afar and had someone hold an umbrella to greet her.
“Oh, my dear Xiao Haitang~ you’re finally here.”
Ning Qiutang seemed to have found a protector and rushed into her grandmother’s arms: “Grandma, Grandma, I miss you so much.”
Jiang Sheng walked in, looked at their closeness, more intimate than a real granddaughter, and walked away indifferently.
Grandma Jiang pulled Ning Qiutang to sit down, seeing her red eyes, it was obvious she had been crying: “Oh, my dear, what happened, your eyes are red from crying, did that stinky boy Jiang Sheng bully you again?”
“Grandma, you have to stand up for me, Jiang Sheng bullied me in the car, he scared me saying he would kill me if I didn’t break off the engagement, I was so scared, Grandma.”
Ning Qiutang should have gone to the entertainment industry, her acting skills were superb, and her crying was so convincing that people couldn’t help but believe her.
Grandma Jiang’s face turned cold with anger: “Jiang Sheng, you’re itching for a beating, you bullied my precious granddaughter again.
Jiang Sheng came out coldly behind, glanced at the woman hiding in her grandmother’s arms and sneered: “If she’s your granddaughter, then this engagement is a joke.”
Grandma Jiang glared at him angrily: “That’s how you talk to me? No wonder Xiao Haitang says you bully her, you talk to me like that, how would you talk to her, you’d bully her to death.”
She felt that it was probably true, this grandson of hers, who was cold-hearted towards love, was a real headache for the whole family.
Ning Qiutang echoed: “Yes, Grandma, Jiang Sheng bullies me all the time, I cry eight hundred times a day, he still despises me, scares me, and forces me to do things I don’t want to do.”
She complained about everything in one breath.
Jiang Sheng sneered and watched her performance quietly.
Grandma Jiang said sternly: “Jiang Sheng, come here, kneel down and apologize to Xiao Haitang.”
Ning Qiutang said in a sensible and fearful voice: “Grandma, forget it, Third Brother wouldn’t…”
Jiang Sheng walked over and unexpectedly knelt down, holding Ning Qiutang’s hand and smiling: “I was wrong.”
All of Ning Qiutang’s words got stuck in her throat, looking at the other party willingly kneeling to apologize, she was shocked and doubted that the young man in front of her wasn’t him.
Grandma Jiang was satisfied: “Alright, my dear, look, this boy has apologized, let’s not cry or be angry anymore.”
Ning Qiutang only felt a cold sweat on her back, the young man was smiling, but his smile was cold, not reaching his eyes, making people feel cold all over.
“Third Brother~ I forgive you, get up quickly.” She quickly helped him up.
