Chapter 70: But, I Only Want to Kiss You
Ning Qiutang’s mind raced through countless thoughts as she looked at the unrestrained young man. “If the world ends,” she said, “I’ll make amends with you.”
“Really?” The madness in Jiang Sheng’s eyes flickered away. It wasn’t impossible.
Ning Qiutang looked at him with complex emotions. Did he truly not care about anyone in this world?
She shook her head lightly and quickly went to chase Yu Jiaojiao.
Jiang Sheng followed closely behind.
Director Lin criticized them for over an hour, and it was almost time for their afternoon classes.
Ning Qiutang knew that Jiaojiao would be alright and felt relieved. The two of them waited at the Academic Affairs Office.
Jiang Sheng finally started reading the novel she had given him.
The young man read quickly, his brow furrowing more and more.
He finished the last page, his gaze deep and dark as he looked at the girl beside him, who seemed to be eagerly hoping for something from him.
Jiang Sheng wanted to say something, but he found that the words he wanted to say were stuck in his throat.
Ning Qiutang, as if she knew what he was thinking, stared at him. “Do you think the same thing as me?”
Jiang Sheng opened the book and found a section of the plot, his finger pressing on it. That section described the existence of the system in detail.
“Is it this?”
Ning Qiutang’s eyes widened. He was so smart!
In her excitement, she suddenly rushed forward and hugged him, nodding vigorously. It was it!
You know, you guessed it!
She finally understood why Jiang Sheng had been so persistent about her after discovering that they were the same kind of person. Because only they could understand each other.
Jiang Sheng felt that the world was too lonely, so there was only her.
Ning Qiutang felt that only he understood her thoughts in this world.
But she didn’t know that another bead on her wrist bracelet had cracked.
Jiang Sheng reached out and hugged her, pulling her tightly into his arms. “Is there a reward for guessing right?”
After calming down, Ning Qiutang realized that they were too intimate. She was about to step back when he held her tightly, not allowing her to escape.
“The reward is a slap.”
Jiang Sheng’s face darkened, and he quickly released her, turning his face away as if he were angry.
Ning Qiutang couldn’t help but laugh. How could a cool and aloof god be so contradictory? “Be serious, the situation is very serious now.”
“You hugged me first.” Jiang Sheng ignored her logic, he had hugged her and wouldn’t admit it, even threatening her.
Everyone called him the Crown Prince, but it was just a joke. He was a scaredy-cat in front of this woman.
Seeing that he was really angry, Ning Qiutang grabbed his clothes and immediately coaxed him, “Oh, I was just kidding. How could I hit you?”
“Haven’t you hit me before?” Jiang Sheng’s voice raised a few decibels. How dare she do it and then deny it?
Ning Qiutang coughed lightly and pulled his hand, saying, “A hero doesn’t mention his past victories. So, what do you want as a reward?”
It was true that his mind was exceptionally quick. Ordinary people wouldn’t be able to guess what she meant.
“You kiss me once.” Jiang Sheng was inexplicably persistent about this.
Ning Qiutang frowned. “Change it.”
“You kiss me twice.” Jiang Sheng demanded confidently.
Ning Qiutang: “…”
She turned and walked away directly.
Jiang Sheng immediately lowered his head and quickly grabbed her. “Come back, don’t you even want to negotiate? It doesn’t have to be a kiss.”
Ning Qiutang couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ll buy you a kissing toy, you can kiss it however you want.”
Jiang Sheng stared at her intently, his usually indifferent and cold eyes filled with a hint of spring breeze. “But, I only want to kiss you.”
Ning Qiutang felt that his eyes were too heartless when they were heartless, and when they were full of affection, they seemed to overflow. She couldn’t help but step back, but he grabbed her shoulder.
The young man bent down and leaned closer, cupping her face and slowly approaching.
Without the suppression of the prayer beads, the feeling of disgust he had ignored before surged through his body like a tidal wave, but he ignored it all.
Jiang Sheng’s eyes were filled with rare affection and devotion, his eyes sparkling like stars as he looked at her: “Can I?”
The atmosphere was so ambiguous that it seemed to be bubbling, the surrounding sunlight acting as a catalyst, making the surrounding colors and temperature become enchanting and fiery.
Ning Qiutang looked at him nervously, her mind seemed to have crashed, wanting to react but not knowing what to say.
The next second, the young man leaned closer, cupping her face and gently pressing it against her forehead.
Jiang Sheng looked straight into her eyes, feeling as if flowers were blooming all over his heart. He had a mischievous smile on his face, yet it was clean and pure: “I will kiss you at the end of the world, I will kiss you when there is no hope on the return journey, I will only kiss you when you love me.”
Ning Qiutang’s heart was pounding, so fast that she couldn’t control it. She was drawn to the brilliance in his eyes, even if it meant throwing herself into the flames, she would sink to her death.
This world was broken and tattered, and those who loved each other patched it up.
Her eyes were filled with tears, the overwhelming sadness flowed back like a river: “Jiang Sheng, you seem to have said this to me before.”
“But I can’t remember when I said it, but this sentence made my heart hurt so much, more than when I died.”
Jiang Sheng raised his head and gently wiped away her tears: “Last night I went to the Qingmu Sanatorium, my old ward had a whole wall of apologies, but there was one inconspicuous sentence hidden among tens of thousands of apologies.”
“I also feel like I’ve said this sentence countless times, and every time I say it, it feels like a parting of life and death.”
“If there are past lives and present lives, I must have loved you over and over again.”
Ning Qiutang felt like she remembered something, but also like she couldn’t remember anything. The endless sadness in her heart told her that the meaning of this sentence was a pressure she couldn’t bear.
Jiang Sheng sighed and helped her sit down.
“Ningning, do you think it’s invincible?”
Ning Qiutang shook her head. She didn’t know. With the countless number of past lives and present lives, she felt that they must have failed many times.
Looking at it this way, He really was invincible.
“But we’re different. We’re no longer the lifeless characters in this novel, forever controlled by our lives. I will never surrender.”
Jiang Sheng was such a person, he would never surrender, he would always tell everyone with the most arrogant attitude that he would die rather than submit.
Ning Qiutang nodded slightly, the pain in her heart gradually subsided. As soon as she moved her wrist, she found that another bead of the prayer beads had broken, and the broken pieces fell to the ground.
She squatted down and quickly picked them up: “Why did it break?”
Jiang Sheng looked up at the sky, his face full of disdain: “Because He is angry.”
Ning Qiutang looked at the remaining five prayer beads and felt uneasy. She felt that if this continued, something would definitely happen.
“It’s impossible that there’s absolutely no way. There must be other ways.”
Jiang Sheng pulled her up, his calm and composed eyes fell on her: “Alright, it’s okay, it’s not like we’re going to die right away. You’re right, there must be other ways.”
When Yu Jiaojiao came out and saw their strange looks, she was a little confused: “Tangtang, you’re crying, Jiang Sheng, I’ll fight you to the death!”
