Chapter 12 My Husband is a Crybaby

“Ah——!!” A scream pierced through the entire floor, sounding as if a pig was being slaughtered.

The suite was dimly lit, and after the tough man in women’s clothing had been touched by Boss Zhou, his manly face revealed a shark-like grin before he unleashed a flurry of punches on Boss Zhou.

Miss Xia suggested kicking Boss Zhou a couple of times to make him angry, which would cause a rift between him and Liang Bo.

But President Qin’s intent was to take care of Boss Zhou entirely.

The tough man decided to go all out; after all, he was still a young man, and he couldn’t let Boss Zhou get away with touching him for free!

At that moment, Liang Bo was sitting in the lobby drinking tea, waiting for good news from Boss Zhou.

Seeing two police officers pass by made Liang Bo a bit anxious, but he remembered Boss Zhou’s status and continued to lounge back and sip his tea confidently.

After all, Boss Zhou was a young master from a collateral branch of the Zhou family, and most ordinary policemen wouldn’t dare touch him.

Several more minutes passed.

Liang Bo saw two police officers escorting a bruised man out of the elevator. The man had handcuffs on, and upon closer inspection, Liang Bo realized it was Boss Zhou!

Liang Bo hurriedly ran over, urgently asking, “What happened? Why are you arresting Boss Zhou? Where are you taking him?”

The police officer looked stern. “Do you know this thug? Are you in cahoots with him?”

Liang Bo immediately took two steps back, shaking his head vigorously.

Boss Zhou opened his bloodshot eyes and, recognizing Liang Bo with difficulty, spat angrily, “You plotted against me! We’re sworn enemies now!”

Liang Bo was shocked. “I didn’t do anything!”

The back-and-forth conversation made the police suspect Liang Bo was an accomplice, and they took him away in their police car.

Xia Yuan leaned against the railing on the second floor, dressed in a pink mermaid gown, with delicate shoulders and a slim waist, her smile stunning.

She finally got to vent some frustration for Mother Xia.

“Hubby~” Xia Yuan walked lightly, her figure flitting like a butterfly through the golden-lit glass corridor, and leapt into the man’s embrace, radiating a warm glow.

Sitting in the shadowy corner, Qin Mohuai set down his pen. The man, who held the power of life and death, took out a clean blue handkerchief and gently wiped the fine sweat from her forehead.

“Baby,” his deep, soothing voice coaxed, “can you sit here with me for a while? After I finish these documents, I’ll take you to a fantastic restaurant for dinner.”

Xia Yuan, facing away from the secretaries and assistants, casually kissed Qin Mohuai’s chin as a sign of agreement.

In front of those subordinates, since Qin Mohuai wasn’t embarrassed, she had no qualms either.

Secretary Cao, who had been by Qin Mohuai’s side the longest, and the team of secretaries led by him did not see Xia Yuan as a troublemaker; instead, they were grateful for her role as a calming influence on President Qin.

Everyone had probably noticed that whenever Miss Xia was by President Qin’s side, this monstrous volcano of a man wouldn’t erupt; even his worst tempers would be suppressed somewhat.

Bathed in sunlight, Xia Yuan felt drowsy until she suddenly heard Qin Mohuai’s calm voice. His forehead tightened with veins as he scolded someone sharply and mercilessly.

Her slender, pale fingers secretly pinched the tyrant’s ear, and her sparkling eyes locked onto his. Why was he being so fierce?

Qin Mohuai’s face was icy, but he stopped scolding.

Secretary Cao breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.

The queen was indeed formidable!

Xia Yuan was afraid that Qin Mohuai would turn around and cause her trouble, so she leaned her soft, pink lips close to his ear and playfully said, “Qin Mohuai~ don’t be so angry. The little ones wanting to settle in my belly are scared to come out.”

Qin Mohuai’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and his eyes darkened.

The Qin family was large, with several branches, and even his younger cousins had children. The old man had repeatedly urged him to have kids to avoid losing the position of heir.

Therefore, Qin Mohuai had never taken safety measures during his encounters with Xia Yuan, hoping that they could have a child together.

His deep-set voice was hoarse as he said, “Next weekend, let’s go to a temple to pray for a child.”

Xia Yuan thought to herself, no matter how excellent your genes are, I can’t get pregnant; the system won’t allow it.

Moreover, she didn’t want to have a child in this world. She knew all too well how pitiful a child would be without a mother.

Qin Mohuai was supposed to handle his official duties in a spacious and bright office, but worried about Xia Yuan, he moved his work location to the Golden Peak Hotel.

After finishing his work, he discussed dinner plans with her, and Xia Yuan mentioned she wanted to visit her parents.

Recalling the shabby restaurant run by his aunt, he felt a moment of discomfort, but didn’t refute Xia Yuan’s suggestion to have dinner at home.

Inside the Maybach.

The bodyguard who had returned from the police station had discarded his women’s clothing and changed into a well-fitted black suit.

“With my silver tongue and the wise decisions of the police comrades, Liang Bo and Boss Zhou have been locked up.”

Xia Yuan exclaimed, “Deserved! You did a good job with this!”

Given Boss Zhou’s methods, it probably wasn’t his first time receiving such “respect”; scum like him should be locked away.

Qin Mohuai held Xia Yuan’s hand, his precious, jade-like face remaining indifferent, but his fingers gently pressed against her palm.

What about me?

Xia Yuan’s eyes sparkled as she praised him, “I used all my money to buy you a ring, so I don’t have money to give you a gift for now. My waist has also been overused by you, so I can’t provide you with pleasure for the time being. How about this: let’s sleep in separate rooms for a week. During this time, you can smoke and smoke cigars anywhere in the house, and I won’t complain.”

Qin Mohuai: “…” He would deal with this little troublemaker when they got home.

Xia Yuan would feel carsick as soon as she caught a whiff of smoke.

Due to the rules, no one was allowed to smoke in the entire Holy Sea Manor. If Qin Mohuai felt the urge to smoke, he would hide in a place where Xia Yuan rarely went to smoke, acting like a thief to avoid getting caught by her.

In the original story, Xia Yuzhe was overly proud but lacking in intelligence, engaging in a fierce power struggle with the crazed male lead, turning the Holy Sea Manor into an arena for their battles.

However, under Xia Yuan’s governance, the Holy Sea Manor was lush with greenery, blooming flowers, and a five-star, smoke-free environment—my personal paradise!

The Maybach parked by the street, and Xia Yuan held the hand of her cleanliness-obsessed partner as they walked into her mother’s small restaurant.

Although the place had a strong smell of cooking and grease, the tables, chairs, and floors were relatively clean, showcasing the hardworking nature of this couple-run eatery.

Before Xia Yuzhe became famous, he would help out in the restaurant. Ever since his rise to fame, business had picked up, and Liang Min and Xia Yi had hired an additional staff member.

The tall, lean young man immediately informed Aunt Liang Min upon seeing Xia Yuan that Sister Xia Yuan had arrived.

Liang Min, busy frying dishes, couldn’t step away, so Xia Yi wiped his hands and came out from the kitchen.

In his forties, Xia Yi, with his superior bone structure, looked no different from a man in his thirties; he could easily debut if he tidied himself up, yet here he was, settled in a small restaurant with his wife and children, enjoying a warm family life.

Someone once asked Xia Yi why he didn’t seek a rich woman. Liang Min still believed Xia Yi would cheat, but he was a crybaby who would tear up if separated from his wife for even half a day.

Xia Yi smiled warmly, “What brings you here all of a sudden? Have you eaten dinner yet?”

Xia Yuan replied, “Not yet! I want to eat oil-braised prawns and stir-fried beef!”

Qin Mohuai didn’t place an order; his deep, magnetic voice added, “No chili in the stir-fried beef; she just recovered from a cold and needs to eat lightly.”
