Chapter 16 Catchy Dramatic Scenes
After having vegetarian meals at Qingyun Temple, the two returned. Xia Yuan thought Qin Mohuai had no appetite, but little did she know, he polished off her leftover vegetarian crab egg cake and vegetarian roast chicken.
It seemed he wasn’t too upset about it either.
In the original novel, the crazed male protagonist and Xia Yuan tormented each other every day, but never mentioned having children.
Yet, after Xia Yuan replaced the female lead, Qin Mohuai kept pestering her to have kids. Did he think her personality was too mild and easy to manipulate?
Hmph.
A double-standard man.
Xia Yuan lowered the car window to breathe in the fresh air. The warm breeze tousled her dark hair, and her delicate eyebrows seemed to drift like wisps of smoke, hiding a hint of longing for freedom.
Four girls around Xia Yuan’s age walked past the sidewalk, chatting and laughing. Their white skirts swayed in the wind, each holding a cup of milk tea, their smiles full of seemingly endless topics to discuss.
A large, well-defined hand fell gently on the back of her head, rubbing it lightly. Xia Yuan, captivated by the scenery outside, caught Qin Mohuai’s attention.
“What are you looking at?” he asked.
Xia Yuan turned her head, snuggling into Qin Mohuai’s chest, her delicate face buried, hiding the emotions in her eyes.
If she showed him…
The powerful figure who mingled in both politics and business was far too perceptive; her little thoughts couldn’t escape his notice.
“I want to drink milk tea,” Xia Yuan said clearly, her voice soft and tender, the watery tone tugging at the man’s heartstrings.
Qin Mohuai kissed the top of her head. “The milk tea outside isn’t healthy. Be good.”
Tch.
Xia Yuan rolled her eyes.
Her waist seemed to deflate, collapsing directly against Qin Mohuai.
In an instant, she melted into his heart.
The touch of her palm felt delightful to him, more thrilling than the first time he learned to ride a horse or surf.
This little seductress was driving him crazy.
With a pout, Xia Yuan whined in his arms, “I know milk tea isn’t healthy, and I shouldn’t eat junk food while preparing for pregnancy. As long as I can have your baby, I can overcome my cravings.”
She didn’t really want the milk tea; she just wanted to experience the joy they had.
Qin Mohuai, sensitive and suspicious, sensed something. He bent down to look directly into his wife’s eyes, grabbing a stray blue hair that was wild and untamed. His dark eyes glinted mischievously as he said, “Are you envious of them, wearing short skirts and drinking milk tea freely? Do you want to be as carefree as they are? What about me? Don’t you want me anymore? I knew you were a little liar, claiming you’d only have my babies; those sweet words are just to trick me. Baby, unless I die and turn to dust, you’ll never get that cup of milk tea!”
—
Xia Yuan’s delicate, misty eyes blinked softly. To say she wasn’t scared would be a lie, but she wouldn’t provoke Qin Mohuai like Xia Yuan did, as she had already held onto the leash around the mad dog’s neck.
Unfazed, Xia Yuan leaned closer and whispered a few words into his ear.
The man’s fierce and dark eyes suddenly shifted, his fingers tightening around her slender waist. His voice was hot and impatient: “No backing out! Otherwise, I’ll definitely lock you in a small dark room!”
Xia Yuan’s face flushed. “I promised you with my own mouth; why would I back out?”
Wasn’t it just about wearing some revealing clothes and putting on some unsightly accessories to appease him? Maybe it could increase his affection a bit.
Before Qin Mohuai could tell the driver to hurry up and take them home, he received a call from Yang Yi.
“What’s up?”
The low, hoarse voice startled Yang Yi.
Yang Yi chuckled, “I’m not interrupting your good thing, am I?”
Qin Mohuai coldly scoffed, “Then I certainly wouldn’t be answering your call.”
Yang Yi: “…”
Unable to best the shameless man, he decided to get back to business.
After hanging up, Qin Mohuai wore a look of unmet desires. “There’s a business gathering I need to attend.”
Xia Yuan let out a sigh of relief; he would inevitably be smoking and drinking, which meant she might not have to wear those chaotic clothes tonight.
Qin Mohuai could see right through her thoughts. His thin lips twisted into a sardonic smile, “Come with me.”
Xia Yuan: ?

**Tianxi Clubhouse.**
Xia Yuan entered the luxurious private room and noticed the main seat beside Yang Yi was empty, likely reserved for Qin Mohuai.
Yang Yi seemed surprised that Qin Mohuai would bring Xia Yuan out for socializing; he stood there momentarily stunned and didn’t arrange for anyone to give up their seat.
With her keen eyesight, Xia Yuan immediately spotted milk tea on the menu!
She chose a seat near the door, conveniently positioned opposite the main seat, though still quite a distance away.
Hmm.
This was a perfect spot for a secret affair.
Qin Mohuai sat coldly beside Yang Yi, dressed in a finely tailored white shirt that added a touch of elegance to his lazy demeanor.
The men and women present were all relatively young, dressed in suits and stylish clothes, each trying to curry favor with Qin Mohuai.
Some wanted him to invest.
Others sought his guidance.
And some were sizing up Xia Yuan. She had entered with Qin Mohuai and didn’t seem like his secretary.
If she was a mistress, why wasn’t she sitting next to Qin Mohuai?
Huang Tao, wearing a solid gold Rolex, opened a bottle of wine and stealthily added a little something to it.
He filled the empty glass in front of Xia Yuan, managing a polite smile. “Beauty, I’m Huang Tao; you can call me Tao Ge. May I ask for your surname?”
If she wasn’t Qin Mohuai’s woman, then it would be his gain.
—
Xia Yuan glanced at the wine glass and then at Huang Tao, her expression turning subtle.
Why did this scene feel so familiar?
The woman sitting to Xia Yuan’s left raised her glass and splashed Huang Tao in the face, taunting him, “Is it good? Do you think this is some kind of place? You really think you can drug someone’s drink here?”
Huang Tao didn’t expect Ouyang Jing to confront him directly. His face flushed red with anger, and he looked ready to lash out.
Xia Yuan suddenly realized why she felt this scene was familiar—it was the first meeting between the male and female leads!
Only now, the cannon fodder that drove the plot forward had switched from a waiter to Xia Yuan herself.
The wealthy men and women around put down their glasses, casting disdainful glances at Huang Tao.
What a despicable person! How dare he sit with them! But who could blame Huang Tao for his good fortune; he had a brother-in-law who was a department head, and everyone secretly envied and despised him.
Yang Yi wanted to cover his eyes.
Qin Mohuai’s fiancée just saved his current girlfriend!
What a dramatic scene!
Ouyang Jing wasn’t afraid of Huang Tao. With a sharp tongue, she insulted him from head to toe, making him so furious that he looked like he might spit blood. His short, pudgy fingers gripped the beer bottle tightly.
Ouyang Jing: “Do you know who I am? How dare you!”
Sitting between them, Xia Yuan sneakily sipped the milk tea that the waiter brought. For just a sip, she was willing to be in the middle of this battlefield.
Such a glutton!
Qin Mohuai pinched the bridge of his nose, his cold and magnetic voice grumbling, “Please ask Mr. Huang to step outside and calm down.”
Two burly bodyguards escorted Huang Tao out of the private room.
Ouyang Jing turned to look at Qin Mohuai. Was this her fiancé?
His features and figure were much better than in the photos, but his erratic aura was overwhelming.
Before long, Qin Mohuai stood up to leave and shot Xia Yuan a warning glance as he passed by.
Immediately. Right now. Leave with me.
Xia Yuan hesitated for a moment before getting up and thanking Ouyang Jing.
Ouyang Jing replied, “You’re welcome. If anyone gets bullied, I can’t just turn a blind eye.”
After Xia Yuan left, her friend Song Ci’en wrapped her arms around Ouyang Jing’s, excitedly saying, “Ouyang Jing, your fiancé was so cool just now! With just one sentence, he scared Huang Tao. He’s really got your back!”
“Although he seems a bit cold, that’s not a bad thing; it’s perfect for warding off those buzzing pests. Did you notice? Qin Mohuai has a very high nose; I heard men like that have strong capabilities. You’re so lucky, Ouyang jing~”
“By the way, why didn’t you chase after him and ask for his private number? Old Master Qin specially organized this gathering for you two to meet. Hurry up and catch him; he shouldn’t be far!”
Ouyang Jing replied, “Chasing after him for his private number would be so cheap; I’m not going to do that.”
Song Ci’en added, “True, if you want Qin Mohuai’s private number, just ask Old Master Qin. You’re the chosen granddaughter-in-law! And remember, I want to be the bridesmaid at your wedding.”
She accidentally glanced at the floor-to-ceiling window and exclaimed in frustration, “Ouyang jing, look! The person you just helped got into Qin Mohuai’s car! We need to catch them in the act; that little vixen is stealing your man!”
Ouyang Jing quickly walked to the window, frowning. “He’s not my man; I didn’t agree to the engagement, and I’m sure he doesn’t want it either.”
