Chapter 22 Being Protected by His Wife, He Was Over the Moon

Qin Mohuai sat on a single-seater sofa, his eyes wild and cold, exuding an intimidating aura. It was a stark contrast to his earlier submissive behavior; now, he resembled an unsealed demon king, free to wreak havoc.

Xia Yuan glanced at the black collar on the floor. My God! She had personally unlocked the demon king’s seal!

Qin Mohuai lightly patted his legs, and Xia Yuan immediately snuggled up to him. Her slender, fair arms wrapped around his neck as her soft, plump lips kissed him.

As arrogant as she had been earlier, she was now that much more meek.

Ah, this… This wasn’t cowardice. It was simply being wise and knowing when to adapt.

Qin Mohuai’s hand slid under her dress, his cold, firm fingers gripping her slim waist. He had a mild form of skin hunger, and just the touch of her skin sent involuntary shivers through his body.

“Why did you hide when I had an episode?”

You told me to hide, but Xia Yuan quickly reconsidered, realizing that response wouldn’t help at all.

Most of the time, she didn’t mind coaxing Qin Mohuai. Doing so often unintentionally raised his affection for her.

“I wasn’t hiding from you. I was preparing a surprise for you,” Xia Yuan said.

Qin Mohuai, unusually calm and cruel, gripped her chin and kissed her. His rough yet gentle lips ravaged hers.

Xia Yuan yelped in pain, but her cries did nothing to soften him. He even began biting at the corners of her lips. By tomorrow, her skin would surely be bruised.

Taking a deep breath of fresh air, she softened her tone and whined, “I really do have a surprise for you. Don’t you want to see it?”

Qin Mohuai’s strikingly handsome yet rebellious face showed no emotion. Xia Yuan could see the intense possessiveness and cruelty in his eyes, as though today were some kind of succubus festival, granting him free rein to torment his wife.

“Fine, let’s go see the surprise first.”

Just then, Qin Qi and his team cracked the villa’s security code and burst into the room, only to see Xia Yuan riding on Qin Mohuai’s shoulders.

Everyone was dumbstruck.

Miss Xia wasn’t the one being beaten; instead, she was bullying President Qin. Had their roles been reversed?

When President Qin had an episode, he was so violent that even the old master avoided him for fear of being sent to the afterlife with a couple of punches.

Qin Mohuai coldly spat out a single word: “Out!”

Qin Qi immediately led everyone out, and before the door closed, they heard Qin Mohuai’s voice, “Keep climbing to the attic. I’m your little horse, and baby can’t ride any other little horse.”

Single Qin Qi was hit with a critical blow, his ears turning beet red.

Xia Yuan’s pale little feet stepped on Qin Mohuai’s hands as he hoisted her up into the attic. She tried to pull him up, but he easily leaped up on his own.

The attic was pitch black, not even a sliver of light. Xia Yuan fumbled to find the switch, and once she flicked it, star-shaped fairy lights hanging around the room lit up. Rose petals were scattered across the floor, and several bouquets of roses were piled in the corner.

Qin Mohuai narrowed his phoenix eyes.

Xia Yuan plucked a rose, her fair face flushed with nervousness. “I already gave you the ring. Mr. Qin Mohuai, will you marry me?”

System: “The male lead’s affection level has risen to 89%!”

Qin Mohuai took a 14.5-carat pink diamond from his pocket, his elegant, magnetic voice murmuring, “Baby, I do.”

He gently slipped the pink diamond onto her finger.

Though there wasn’t a bed in the attic, the atmosphere was just right. Qin Mohuai leaned in, cupping her face as he began kissing her.

Xia Yuan tugged at his ear, and when their lips parted, a soft “pop” echoed in the narrow, dimly lit space, stirring something deep inside them.

With his sharp brows furrowed in intensity, Qin Mohuai, full of possessiveness and twisted affection for his wife, was unstoppable.

He was about to take things further. After all, she had already scolded him before for having no sense of restraint in bed, caring only about his own satisfaction. Did he even have any face left to lose?

Damn it. It had been days since he’d last seen **. His eyes burned crimson with a feverish desire, like an addict craving his next fix. In fact, that was exactly what he was.

Xia Yuan quickly said, “I drew a picture on the wall. It’s part of my proposal plan. You haven’t seen it yet!”

She grabbed both of his ears, forcibly turning his handsome, lovesick face toward the wall.

Qin Mohuai wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin on her small, delicate shoulder, lazily lifting his eyelids.

A row of simple stick figures—two adults and one child—depicted a happy journey from marriage to pregnancy to childbirth.

She longed to have a child with him, and Qin Mohuai understood that. However, he had a strong premonition that having this child wouldn’t be as easy as it seemed.

“We’ll make a baby right now.”

Xia Yuan touched her stomach and shyly said, “I’m a little hungry. I want a late-night snack.”

Qin Qi nearly dropped his jaw to the ground when he saw the two of them walking out, hand in hand, to get a late-night meal.

Could it be that President Qin was back to normal?

The Yuxiang Mansion neighborhood had a high green coverage rate and low building density, making the area extremely quiet. But just outside, bustling streets and rows of shops awaited them.

Holding Qin Mohuai’s hand, Xia Yuan carefully picked out a restaurant, settling on a barbecue joint that specialized in crayfish.

“Boss lady, I’d like two pounds of spicy crayfish and two pounds of garlic-flavored crayfish.”

The barbecue shop owner replied, “Coming right up!”

Ever since she had started dating Qin Mohuai, barbecue and fried chicken had vanished from Xia Yuan’s diet. The control-freak “Big Daddy” would never allow her to eat such things.

If they ever argued over it, Qin Mohuai’s obsessive and domineering side would emerge. “I decide what’s best for my wife’s body. I won’t let junk food mess with her health!”

Who would’ve thought she’d be eating spicy crayfish again?

Given Qin Mohuai’s current state, there was no need to deceive him to gain freedom.

The system was shocked, “Holding hands with the mad male lead—is this what you call freedom?”

Xia Yuan raised an eyebrow, retorting against its sarcastic tone, “A single-dog system has no right to judge me.”

The system responded with a crackling sound, as if cursing under its breath.

Qin Mohuai looked at the greasy table, and his cleanliness compulsion kicked in. He grabbed a stack of napkins and began wiping it down, obsessively cleaning the surface.

His handsome, pristine face, paired with those dark, vacant eyes, and his obsessive actions…

Nearby, a man drinking with his friends glanced over a few times, then loudly commented, “These days, beautiful women must be starving for looks—they don’t care about brains, even fools can be attractive.”

Xia Yuan frowned, initially wanting to ignore it, but the man grew more obnoxious.

“And he’s a fool with a cleanliness obsession! Does he use half a roll of paper just to wipe his ass?”

“Hey, fool! Do you even know how to wipe your ass properly?”

“Hahaha, he’s mute too! Dumb and mute—how do you have the guts to keep living? If I were you, I’d jump off a building and end it!”

“Enough!” Xia Yuan’s anger surged within her. Back then, she hadn’t had the courage to stand up for the autistic boy. But now, she had grown.

“Who are you calling a fool? When you can’t insult someone’s looks, you attack their intelligence. If you’re so smart, why haven’t you won a Nobel Prize yet? Keep running that foul mouth of yours, and when you end up in hell, King Yama will cut your tongue out!”

Xia Yuan slammed her hand on the table. The small wooden table cracked.

Cracked?

What kind of flimsy table was this?

Qin Mohuai stared blankly at Xia Yuan, as if seeing a little sun, her bright, furious face deeply etched into his heart.
