Li Wenshui stood still, the autumn wind swirling the snow in the ski resort, and some of it fell into his eyes. He didn’t blink, keeping his gaze fixed ahead, motionless. Liang Jin’s wealthy friends were also at the ski resort. He had many friends, but Li Wenshui only knew a few scattered individuals. Standing next to Liang Jin was a young man named Wen Yushu, who appeared very close to him. Wen Yushu was handsome, delicate, pale, and gentle in appearance. Li Wenshui had once participated in a school-organized knowledge competition with Wen Yushu. Wen Yushu didn’t talk much but scored very high, proving he was a person with both strength and ideas.
It seemed that Liang Jin was teaching Wen Yushu how to ski. He stood behind Wen Yushu, his hands crossing over to grasp Wen Yushu’s wrists. Wen Yushu lowered his head and smiled, a faint blush on his cheeks. Li Wenshui recalled asking Liang Jin a month ago if he could join him for skiing. Liang Jin had agreed, but after waiting for a long time, Liang Jin never came to find him. Now, Liang Jin was at the ski resort with someone else by his side.
Li Wenshui blinked his eyes, which had become dry from staring too long, feeling a heaviness in his chest. He took a deep breath, but his heart still felt weighed down as if it were carrying a heavy stone. “Xiao Li, what are you looking at? Come over and help,” his older colleague called out to him. Li Wenshui glanced once more at the ski resort and then decisively turned and walked indoors.
Li Wenshui worked as a waiter at the bar. The music was deafening, and the flashing colorful lights mixed with the dim atmosphere. Some people boldly flirted in the booths, and the place was filled with chaos and decadence. Li Wenshui felt that this was not a respectable place. His older colleague noticed his hesitation and reminded him, “Xiao Li, don’t speak carelessly or stare at anyone here. We can’t afford to offend these people, they’re all rich young masters looking for thrill.”
Li Wenshui understood and replied, “I’ll be careful.”
His older colleague continued arranging the glasses and chatted casually with him. “Xiao Li, it’s Mid-Autumn Festival today. Who are you spending it with?”
“Spend it with who?” Li Wenshui forced a smile, honestly saying, “How can a holiday be better than making money?”[1]T/L’s note: Hahahaha Meryy Christmas guys! Happy Year end to those who doesnt celebrate Christmas!
He carried the drinks to a VIP private room, his expression darkening. Who did he have to celebrate the holiday with? In the high-end VIP room, Liang Jin leaned against the sofa, one leg crossed over the other. His right hand held a cocktail, and half of his face was hidden in the dim light, his posture noble yet relaxed. Zhou Qi glanced at Liang Jin, observing that when Liang Jin wasn’t speaking, he appeared indifferent and unattached. Although Liang Jin wasn’t actually a person without desires, from Zhou Qi’s observations, Liang Jin never seemed obsessed or deeply involved.
All of them, the rich and spoiled youths, had their own obsessions to varying degrees. Some loved to play, some loved to gamble, and others had more genuine hobbies and interests.
Liang Jin was the only person who had never shown any obsession. He tried everything, but he could walk away at any time. In the past, Zhou Qi thought that Liang Jin liked beautiful women, but there were so many beautiful women, and he had never seen Liang Jin pursue anyone. The women he had slept with were all those who had thrown themselves at him, and it seemed like he found it troublesome and didn’t get involved in relationships with multiple people. Even when a beautiful woman would try to get close to him when he had a regular bed partner, he would turn her away. Every time Zhou Qi thought that this time maybe someone could make Liang Jin fall for them, or maybe it would last longer, Liang Jin would change to someone else.
In fact, Zhou Qi was also curious. His childhood friend, who lacked nothing, what could he possibly be obsessed with?
“It’s already this late, and Xu Mingwei is still acting all important. We’re waiting for him to discuss business,” Pei Zhi said as he nudged Liang Jin with his elbow. “By the way, you’ve been with that gold-digging little beauty for more than three months now, right? How annoying, you won again.”
Liang Jin took a sip of his drink and laughed, “When have I not won?”
Pei Zhi wasn’t happy about always losing, and after all these years, he had lost enough to buy a whole building. He stared at Liang Jin. “He really didn’t ask for anything? So if he didn’t ask, you must have given him something, right?”
Liang Jin replied, “He didn’t ask. I’ve given him gifts a few times.”
Pei Zhi clicked his tongue. “I knew it, it must be because of your gifts that he’s sticking around. You shouldn’t have given him anything.”
“Not give anything? Sleep for free? Only someone like Young Master Pei would do something like that,” Liang Jin teased him.
Liang Jin felt inexplicably hit by the remark. “You know how harsh your words are?”
Zhou Qi chimed in, “It’s not right to sleep for free. Besides, he’s so beautiful. Giving a few gifts isn’t a big deal.”
Pei Zhi seemed to think of something else and asked, “But even if Li Wenshui hasn’t left you, it’s still surprising that you haven’t broken up with him after so long. This isn’t like your style. Why? Is Li Wenshui really that good in bed?”
Liang Jin paused briefly as he poured his drink, his mind briefly flashing to the image of Li Wenshui crying on the bed, his nose red, looking obedient and pitiful. The corner of Liang Jin’s mouth unconsciously lifted.
Zhou Qi caught the slight shift in Liang Jin’s expression, sensing some pride. But what was he proud of? He thought for a moment and then nudged Pei Zhi, smirking, “Do you even need to ask? Of course, he’s good in bed. I bet he’s soft and knows how to please you, right, Liang Jin?”
Liang Jin lowered his head and drank, thinking to himself, That little liar is stubborn. He wouldn’t please me. Every time I hold him, he gets stiff and nervous, like a piece of wood. It takes a long time to get him soft.
“Liang Jin,” Pei Zhi lit a cigarette, and the bored rich second-generation heir started thinking of a new game. “Let’s keep gambling.”
Hearing the word “gamble,” Liang Jin straightened his posture and sat up, “Alright, what are we betting on?”
“I did some research on Li Wenshui recently,” Pei Zhi said, “With his family background, there’s no way he won’t ask you for money. I bet he’s just pretending to be pure right now. Within two months, he’ll definitely ask you for money. If he doesn’t, then…” Pei Zhi took off his green jade ring, “This will be yours.”
Zhou Qi realized why Pei Zhi always lost to Liang Jin in gambling—he didn’t gamble for long enough. He started thinking Li Wenshui was actually quite smart. If he wanted to win Liang Jin over emotionally, he wouldn’t reveal his true intentions so quickly.
“I’ll change the stakes,” Zhou Qi decided to go big. He looked at Liang Jin, who appeared indifferent to everything, and clearly enunciated every word, “I bet you won’t break up with Li Wenshui. You’ll get stuck in this.”
The music in the room stopped just at that moment, and the private room became silent.
Liang Jin raised his eyes and locked gazes with Zhou Qi, who was confidently predicting his victory.
Pei Zhi suddenly burst into laughter. “Zhou Qi, what are you betting on? Are you betting that Liang Jin will fall in love with Li Wenshui? No way, are you crazy or is Liang Jin crazy? Li Wenshui is handsome, but he’s not exactly enchanting, right? Who around Liang Jin isn’t better than him? Who isn’t more beautiful? Do you really think Liang Jin would fall for someone so full of flaws?”
Zhou Qi had a feeling he wouldn’t lose. “Liang Jin, want to bet? If I lose, I’ll give you my supercar. You’ve praised it before, right?”
Liang Jin had nothing he was afraid to gamble on. The bigger the bet, the more interesting he found it. He picked up his glass, stood up, and clinked it with Zhou Qi’s. The sound of the glasses touching rang clear, almost like a pre-celebration of someone’s victory. With a slight raise of his eyebrows, a faint gleam danced in his smiling eyes. “I guess I should clear out another garage to store your car.”
At that moment, the door to the private room opened, and Wen Yushu walked in. “Xu Mingwei is here.”
Xu Mingwei walked in, his arm around a boy dressed provocatively. Today, several young masters, including Wen Yushu, had come mainly for business discussions, with some skiing and meals as an added bonus. Xu Mingwei was 30 years old and a successful businessman with a large-scale enterprise. Although his wealth wasn’t as great as the young masters present, he had a sharp business mind, and any project he took on made a huge profit. His only hobby was playing with beautiful people, and he enjoyed it in a very perverted way.
“Sorry, I was delayed by something, gentlemen, my apologies,” Xu Mingwei said, a cigar hanging from his mouth as the handsome young man sat in his lap, his hands misbehaving. The young masters in the room were no strangers to such scenes. Pei Zhi, who was still somewhat serious about business, directly got to the point: “Mr. Xu, what do you think of the renovation project for the bungalow area?”
…
Li Wenshui had been delivering drinks for two hours. His hands were sore, and he had even been groped by a drunk customer. He had just sat down to rest for less than a minute when his walkie-talkie rang: “Xiao Li, deliver drinks to VIP room 038.”
Li Wenshui rubbed his aching wrist, picked up the drinks, and walked toward the private room. He reached the door, knocked, and pushed it open—inside, the lighting was dim, and several people were seated. His eyes immediately found Liang Jin. Wen Yushu was sitting beside him, whispering something into his ear. Wen Yushu may have been drunk, as he suddenly lowered his head and buried it in Liang Jin’s shoulder. Liang Jin didn’t react at all.
Li Wenshui’s heart felt like it was being pulled by something. Xu Mingwei pointed at him. “What are you standing there for? Bring the drinks.”
With a blank expression, Li Wenshui walked up to them and slammed the drinks down. “Sir, the drinks you ordered.”
Liang Jin’s eyelids lifted slightly, and his lazy gaze drifted towards Li Wenshui, their eyes meeting for a brief moment.
