Chapter 60
Mu Ziming watched quietly from the side, full of sarcasm in his heart. These young masters used to fawn and flatter each other, but once things didn’t go as they wanted, they resorted to extreme measures to force the other party to yield.
His gaze fell on Xie Fuyi’s cold and upright figure, and he couldn’t help feeling a bit sympathetic towards him.
Xie Fuyi sat down next to Xiao Yuanyan with his eyes lowered. Normally gentle, he was now expressionless and silent, while Xiao Yuanyan’s expression also gradually turned cold.
The people around them became somewhat cautious as well.
Chen Shan, sensing the need to lighten the mood, raised his glass to ease the tension. “Since everyone is here, let’s toast to Xiao Shao for his support and wish success for the drama ‘Yansheng’!”
Everyone raised their glasses in agreement, except for Xie Fuyi, who remained motionless.
Xiao Yuanyan continued to stare at him, unmoving. The awkward silence lingered as everyone held their glasses in the air. Chen Shan coughed awkwardly and urged, “Fuyi, join us.”
Xie Fuyi clenched his fists, his expression darkening. He couldn’t bring himself to smile and joke with Xiao Yuansi at this moment, especially after their recent confrontation.
“Aren’t you going to acknowledge me?” Xiao Yuanyan leaned in close to his ear, a smirk playing on his lips. “If you don’t care about your own future, what about these people? If I’m not happy today, I can make sure every one of them gets kicked out of the entertainment industry.”
His words were casual, but his tone was firm, and everyone around heard it, their bodies stiffening involuntarily.
Xie Fuyi looked up at him in disbelief, unable to comprehend how the person who had been so agreeable before could now be like this.
Xiao Yuansi’s smile faded, his eyes turning cold and sharp. He wasn’t joking.
Xie Fuyi glanced around at the expectant gazes fixed on him. He couldn’t let others suffer because of him.
He gritted his teeth, his voice cold. “Is it just about drinking?”
With that, he picked up the full glass in front of him and downed it in one gulp.
Xie Fuyi rarely drank, and the sudden intake of alcohol made him choke.
He coughed incessantly, his eyes reddening, tears welling up in his eyes.
Xiao Yuanyan hadn’t expected him to react like this. He reached out as if to stop him, but Xie Fuyi, overcome by the alcohol, staggered to his feet and headed toward the exit. “I need to use the restroom.”
Xiao Yuanyan’s hand hung in the air, watching him leave stiffly.
…
Xie Fuyi was still somewhat sober, but his body felt the effects of the alcohol. He leaned against the sink, sending an address to Bai Wuluo to come pick him up. Splashing cold water on his face helped clear his mind a bit.
As he stumbled out, he collided with a familiar embrace at the door.
“Uh, sorry…” Xie Fuyi mumbled as the other person steadied him.
“Careful.” The familiar, cold voice made him pause. Looking up, he met the icy black eyes of Ye Yunshen, reflecting his own intoxicated state.
“Mr. Ye?”
Xie Fuyi’s pale skin was tinged with a faint redness due to alcohol, and the corners of his eyes were even redder, flushed with a deep hue. His eyes were moist as if he had been crying.
As Ye Yunshen’s fingers moved involuntarily, gently caressing the corners of his eyes, his voice sank. “What happened? Who bullied you?”
Drinking too quickly, Xie Fuyi became increasingly intoxicated. His head was spinning, and he shook it, unable to see the person in front of him clearly. He could only reach out and hold onto Ye Bai Xiao’s neck, muttering, “Two Mr. Yes? Don’t move…”
Suddenly, a deep voice erupted—
“What are you doing?”
Xiao Yuanyan, seeing that Xie Fuyi hadn’t returned for so long, came out to look for him and was surprised to come across this scene.
The scene was indeed somewhat overly intimate. A handsome man in a suit was holding Xie Fuyi’s waist with one hand and pressing on the corners of his eyes with the other. Xie Fuyi even had his arms around the man’s neck. From a distance, the two looked intimately close.
“Let him go!” Xiao Yuanyan’s black eyes were glazed with ice, his lungs almost bursting with anger. He stepped forward, grabbed Xie Fuyi’s wrist, and attempted to pull him into his embrace.
Suddenly, another man rushed out to snatch the person away from Xiao Yuanyan’s embrace. Ye Yunshen naturally refused to let go. He held onto the person’s waist, his cold gaze falling sharply on Xiao Yuanyan’s face.
He recognized the man in front of him and recalled the phone call Xie Fuyi had received in his car last time. His aura became even colder, and he exuded a subtle pressure. “Young Master Xiao from the Xiao family, instead of properly managing the company at home, have you learned these coercive tactics?”
Xiao Yuanyan couldn’t stand this self-righteous lecturing attitude. He smirked, his eyebrows raised arrogantly, his aura fierce. He sneered, “Ye Yunshen, don’t pretend to be a gentleman in front of me. What kind of despicable person are you? You know it yourself. This person is mine, let go!”
Xiao Yuanyan exerted some force on his hand as he spoke.
Ye Yunshen’s gaze fell on the reddened corners of Xie Fuyi’s eyes, showing no signs of backing down. His words were even colder. “Yours? I don’t think Mr. Xie wants to be with you.”
The pain from Xie Fuyi’s wrist being pinched made Xiao Yuanyan unable to maintain his composure. His face turned ugly, and he insisted, “Who do you think you are? Do you think you can take advantage of him just because he’s vulnerable?”
Ye Yunshen’s expression remained indifferent as he retorted, “At least for now, he doesn’t want to be with you.”
The two confronted each other, neither willing to yield. Their auras clashed, making the air feel tense.
As they argued and exerted force, Xie Fuyi’s waist was squeezed painfully, and his wrist was pinched.
He struggled, “Ow, it hurts…”
Drunk Xie Fuyi wasn’t as composed as usual. His eyes turned red, and his voice sounded unexpectedly endearing.
Their actions paused for a moment, neither daring to exert more force but also unwilling to let go.
Just then, a clear voice rang out—
“Brother, I’m here to take you home.”
White Wuluo, tall and slender, wearing a hoodie and a baseball cap, looked somewhat out of place in the upscale hotel. However, with one hand in his pocket and a blank expression on his face, he exuded a strong presence.
Xie Fuyi’s hazy eyes caught sight of the familiar figure, and he sobered up a bit. “Wuluo!”
At least on the surface, the other party was still a obedient and well-behaved younger brother. Xie Fuyi decisively broke free from both of them and walked towards Bai Wuluo.
He walked unsteadily, and Bai Wuluo quickly stepped forward, embracing him and pulling him into his arms. His lowered black eyes flashed with coldness, but when he looked up again, his expression was calm as usual.
Dressed in a hoodie and jeans, Bai Wuluo looked like a cheerful young man. However, he faced Ye Yunshen and Xiao Yuanyan’s intense gazes without flinching. He even managed to muster a polite yet distant smile.
“Thank you both for taking care of my brother. He’s drunk, so I’ll take him home first.”
Xie Fuyi had made his choice, and neither of the two men was part of it.
The two could only watch as Bai Wuluo led Xie Fuyi away.
Xiao Yuanyan clicked his tongue impatiently. “This little wolf cub doesn’t seem like an easy one to deal with.”
He glanced aside, mocking, “Ye Yunshen, how many times have you met him? You’d better focus on your workaholic self and not think about snatching people from me.”
Xiao Yuanyan, disdainful, finished speaking and also left. He needed to think of another way to make Xie Fuyi willingly stay by his side.
Alone, Ye Yunshen lowered his eyes, rubbing his fingers, as if there were still traces of moisture left by the other person. Whether they were tears or water…
The person he wanted, he would never let go of.
Since he was already behind, he needed to use even more powerful methods to seize what he wanted.
