Chapter 63
The next day, as the faint morning light appeared, Ye Yunshen woke up in a daze. The large hand tightly wrapped around his waist instantly brought him back to his senses.
“Awake?” The deep, magnetic voice, no longer as cold as yesterday, carried a slight huskiness.
Ye Yunshen’s well-tuned biological clock had already woken him up early. However, seeing the person in his arms still asleep, he hesitated to turn off his phone despite the morning meeting being urgent, waiting for Xie Fuyi to wake up.
He had thought that once he got what he wanted, he would lose interest. But he hadn’t anticipated that after just one night, the feeling of longing would grow even stronger.
Thinking about the events of last night, Xie Fuyi hesitated in his movements, feeling somewhat stiff and unable to turn around.
Why were all these men so physically strong?
And moreover, despite the intense events of last night, why was this person so calm now?
Feeling embarrassed, he silently buried his head deeper into the blanket and mumbled, “Hmm.”
Ye Yunshen noticed that Xie Fuyi, with his back turned towards him, had a slight blush on his ears, knowing that the other was thin-skinned and probably didn’t know how to face him now.
He got up first, put on his clothes, and while buttoning up his shirt with slender fingers, he instructed, “I’m heading to the company. You can rest a bit longer. There are new clothes by the bed, and I’ve arranged a new assistant for you. He’ll take care of your needs. Breakfast is ready; they’ll bring it once you’re done freshening up…”
Ye Yunshen’s tone was calm, but every detail showed his consideration, like an ordinary husband preparing for work on a typical morning…
Xie Fuyi clenched his fists tightly, abruptly interrupting him, “You don’t have to do this.” He paused, his tone firm, “I don’t want us to have any relationship beyond the agreement.”
A moment of silence filled the air.
Ye Yunshen’s movements slowed down, feeling a stab in his heart.
He remained silent for a moment, his expression cold as he said, “This is also part of the agreement. You have to obey and make me happy.”
Xie Fuyi’s face paled, and he tightly pursed his lips, no longer speaking.
It wasn’t until Ye Yunshen left the room that Xie Fuyi breathed a sigh of relief and slowly sat up.
He anxiously ran his hand through his hair. The current situation was a mess. How could he get the protagonist and antagonist together?
…
On the other side, Bai Wuluo was feeling restless in Xie Fuyi’s house.
The scent Xie Fuyi left in the room was fading, and he couldn’t help but kick away the small stool nearby.
But then he thought about how Xie Fuyi often liked to sit on that stool. After a moment, he silently walked over and picked up the stool.
Xie Fuyi’s filming was done in a closed set, and after not seeing anyone for several days, Bai Wuluo realized how much he missed him.
After some contemplation, Bai Wuluo suddenly had an idea—since Xie Fuyi was filming, he could visit the set!
His mood lifted, and he immediately arranged for a visit to Xie Fuyi’s filming location.
As Bai Wuluo walked towards the door, he suddenly noticed a flash of red light. His expression stiffened, and he carefully checked around the doorway, only to discover a small surveillance camera.
Bai Wuluo paused, his black eyes turning cold, and then he crushed the object beneath his foot.
…
With Ye Yunshen’s help and Bai Wuluo’s assistance in the background, Xie Fuyi’s popularity rose rapidly.
Although Xie Fuyi was financially supported by Ye Yunshen, their interaction pattern, apart from their nightly activities, didn’t resemble typical financial support.
Ye Yunshen replaced all the people Xie Fuyi previously had connections with, including arranging his daily life and work arrangements.
He used to be a workaholic, but now he seemed to enjoy it. No matter how busy his day was, he always came to Xie Fuyi’s place to rest at night.
Ye Yunshen even considered Xie Fuyi’s career and kept their relationship hidden from the public, but he frequently had his assistant treat the whole crew to milk tea under Xie Fuyi’s name.
Sometimes even he didn’t understand these actions. But he didn’t want Xie Fuyi to be unhappy.
…
One day, right after Xie Fuyi finished filming his scenes, Bai Wuluo managed to persuade the crew to visit.
“Brother!” Bai Wuluo’s handsome face lit up with a sunny smile as he waved.
“Luoluo, what are you doing here?” Xie Fuyi looked surprised.
Bai Wuluo walked up quickly and immediately embraced him. His strong arms wrapped tightly around Xie Fuyi, burying his head in his neck, smelling the familiar scent that dispelled his recent irritability.
“Brother, I missed you…”
The words came out naturally, and for a moment, even Bai Wuluo himself couldn’t tell if they were genuine.
After a moment of surprise, Xie Fuyi smiled and gently patted his back, then pushed him away, comforting him, “I’ll be done in two months.”
Bai Wuluo let go of him and stepped back, looking him up and down, then smiled, “Brother, you seem to have lost weight. I was worried you might not like the food here, so I brought you some spare ribs I made myself.”
He raised the thermos he was holding.
Xie Fuyi was genuinely surprised this time. Bai Wuluo’s cooking skills were excellent, and just thinking about it made him salivate.
“It’s not necessary. I can eat at the set…” Xie Fuyi wasn’t lying; Ye Yunshen made sure he had gourmet meals prepared for him three times a day.
Bai Wuluo thought Xie Fuyi was worried about him. He chuckled and said, pulling Xie Fuyi to sit down, “It’s no trouble. If you want to eat, I’ll bring it to you every day.”
Xie Fuyi: …No need, he’d overeat.
As they were eating ribs, Ye Yunshen’s secretary came to deliver milk tea to the crew again.
There was a cheer, and the crew members thanked Xie Fuyi.
Xie Fuyi looked at the approaching person, swallowed the food in his mouth, and wiped his hands—Ye Yunshen was concerned about others knowing their relationship, so he rarely came during the day. But every time, he would send some snacks for Xie Fuyi through his secretary.
Sure enough, the secretary handed a box of delicately packaged cakes to Xie Fuyi and said, “Mr. Xie, these are for you.”
Xie Fuyi took it and said, “Thank you.”
Bai Wuluo watched the man in front of him, squinted his eyes, and instantly felt a sense of danger. He casually asked, “Is this your new assistant, brother?”
Xie Fuyi paused, not knowing how to explain his relationship with Ye Yunshen to Bai Wuluo, so he didn’t say anything and just nodded vaguely, gesturing for the secretary to leave quickly.
Bai Wuluo naturally noticed Xie Fuyi’s awkwardness—he was lying.
Feeling a lump in his heart, Bai Wuluo smiled and said, “Brother, I want to eat this cake.”
Xie Fuyi, already full, just gave him the whole thing.
Seeing that Xie Fuyi didn’t mind, Bai Wuluo relaxed and smiled even more, raising his hand stained with sauce, “Brother, I have something on my hand…”
He opened his mouth, hinting that Xie Fuyi should feed him.
“Are you still a child?” Xie Fuyi couldn’t help but smile helplessly, but he still picked up a small piece of cake and fed it to him.
Bai Wuluo finally felt satisfied, and he glanced sideways at the man beside him.
…
The secretary returned and was questioned by Ye Yunshen about the day’s events.
“How was the cake? Did he like it?” Ye Yunshen asked while looking at documents.
He had noticed before that Xie Fuyi liked sweets. This bakery was sweet but not too much, so it should suit his taste.
The secretary hesitated, looking troubled. “Mr. Ye, that cake… Mr. Xie fed it to a man.”
Ye Yunshen slammed his hand down with force, making a loud “crack” as the pen’s tip snapped, leaving a long mark on the important document.
He lifted his gaze, his dark eyes cold and deep like a frigid abyss. “A man?”
