Chapter 72
Ye Baixiao’s cold remark carried a subtle warning, and the chilling undertone seemed to suck the air out of the room.
Everyone’s faces turned pale, understanding instantly the implication of his words — anyone who dared to harm Xie Fuyi would have to consider whether they had the capability to do so.
Fu Zixuan seethed with hatred, gritting his teeth, but he couldn’t move a muscle. The pressure on the glands at the back of his neck made him convulse in pain, almost causing him to pass out.
Xie Fuyi, feeling uncomfortable in Ye Baixiao’s arms, let out a soft grunt. Ye Baixiao lowered his gaze, then ignored everyone else in the room, simply carrying Xie Fuyi out.
It was only when Ye Baixiao had left the room that the overwhelming pressure dissipated.
People breathed heavily, their senses returning, yet some were still puzzled. Wasn’t Ye Baixiao close to the Third Prince? Why was he so concerned about Xie Fuyi?
After much thought, they could only speculate that it must have been Ye Baixiao’s possessiveness at play. So, even if they didn’t like this omega, the fact that he was supposedly their fiancé meant that no alpha could tolerate someone else’s provocation. Especially not from the most powerful alpha among them, Ye Baixiao.
“…And the speculated-to-dislike-Omega Ye Baixiao, at this moment, carefully carried the person in his arms onto the car.
“To the Xie family,” Ye Baixiao ordered before raising the partition, blocking all images and pheromones.
He glanced faintly at the person beside him, his black eyes heavy—If he hadn’t arrived in time, would this person have been devoured by the other party, even marked?
Was it always like this before?
The more Ye Baixiao thought, the colder his expression became, and he felt stifled in his heart. Did this person have no sense of being an omega at all?”
His slender fingers involuntarily slid from Xie Fuyi’s Adam’s apple to the back of his neck, gently massaging his glands.
“Ugh.” The person leaning against him suddenly made a distressed hum.
Xie Fuyi didn’t expect that when A and O pheromones matched well, as soon as the two touched, it felt like an endless rush of pleasure surging through his body…
Unconsciously, he followed that hand and leaned against Ye Baixiao, but his soft cheek brushed against the cold metal buckle.
“So cold…” Xie Fuyi grumbled, tilting his head back and rubbing against it, leaving a red mark on his cheek.
Ye Baixiao quickly cradled his little head, preventing him from getting hurt.
He felt uncomfortable, and Ye Baixiao felt the same. The allure of an O that belonged solely to oneself was multiplied for an A.
But Ye Baixiao still firmly held Xie Fuyi’s shoulders, pressing him to the side.
“Don’t move.” His low voice was no longer icy, as if a fierce beast was deeply suppressing something.
How could he endure it like this? Why was he the only one suffering?
In a daze, Xie Fuyi huffed and puffed, then simply crawled over and straddled Ye Baixiao’s lap.
The backseat of Ye Baixiao’s car had been modified to be spacious enough, but Xie Fuyi was fidgeting so much that Ye Baixiao worried he might fall, so he could only hold onto his waist to support him.
Through the thin fabric of his suit pants, Xie Fuyi felt the heat, and he finally understood that the other person was suffering more than him!
The whole backseat smelled sweetly of peach wine.
Ye Baixiao had never understood why his subordinates always made fools of themselves during pheromone training. For him, those omega pheromones had no effect at all. But now, for the first time, he realized that pheromones were more torturous than any punishment.
His hand trembled with suppressed tension, veins bulging on the back of his hand as he gripped Xie Fuyi’s slender waist, feeling the scorching heat.
It wasn’t until Xie Fuyi became tired from his restless movements and finally fell asleep leaning against Ye Baixiao’s chest that Ye Baixiao breathed a sigh of relief.
Sweat beaded on his forehead, but he had managed to suppress even a hint of pheromones. After all, they weren’t married yet, and marking each other before marriage would be disrespectful to the omega.
He lowered his gaze, a hint of tenderness flickering in his pitch-black eyes.
Ye Baixiao had never planned to marry in his lifetime, but now, he had changed his mind.
…
When Ye Baixiao carried Xie Fuyi into the Xie residence, the Xie family had already dispatched almost everyone to search for the young master.
Upon seeing Ye Baixiao, Mr. Xie was somewhat surprised and hurried forward to take Xie Fuyi.
Ye Baixiao gently turned aside and said lightly, “I’ll take him up.”
Mr. Xie furrowed his brows slightly, thinking his son had been bullied. Instantly, his expression towards Ye Baixiao turned sour. “There’s no need to trouble General Ye. It’s just an engagement, we’re not married yet!”
Ye Baixiao paused for a moment. After all, Mr. Xie was his future father-in-law. He rarely explained, “He’s fallen asleep. Let’s not disturb him.”
After quickly checking Xie Fuyi and confirming that he hadn’t been marked, Mr. Xie’s expression improved slightly. Even if he was the Star of the Empire, he couldn’t bully his son!
…
Xie Fuyi slept soundly. When he woke up again, sitting on the bed, he vaguely recalled what had happened last night. He couldn’t help but sigh at how alcohol had messed things up!
Why did Ye Baixiao bring him back? That wasn’t part of the plan. Shouldn’t he have stayed with Lu Shiyi?
Xie Fuyi scratched his head in frustration. The plot had gone awry from the very beginning.
Ye Baixiao was supposed to be a cold and somewhat old-fashioned character. In simple terms, he was conservative in his thinking! Considering how he behaved in the car last night, being able to control himself while enduring the situation was quite impressive!
If Xie Fuyi continued to indulge in his playboy ways, would Ye Baixiao, a distinguished Imperial war god, really chase after him like a lovesick fool?
Ye Baixiao immediately planned to contact his friends and continue reveling in debauchery that night!
At that moment, the butler knocked on the door. “Young Master, Master Lin from the Lin family is here to see you.”
Xie Fuyi wracked his brain for a moment before recalling that besides Fu Zixuan, his second-in-command, Lin Qiming, was also coming. He hadn’t been present last night due to some business, so he probably came after hearing the news.
Thinking about Fu Zixuan’s injuries from last night, he probably wouldn’t appear in front of him in the short term.
Xie Fuyi responded and asked the butler to bring Lin Qiming to the living room.
He glanced at himself still wearing pajamas, but Xie Fuyi didn’t care. After freshening up, he swaggered downstairs.
At this time, his parents were not at home, and no one dared to question him anyway.
As soon as Lin Qiming entered, he saw Young Master Xie wearing a knee-length robe, his slender legs exposed, the robe loosely tied around his waist, revealing delicate collarbones and most of his fair skin.
Lin Qiming’s blood boiled instantly, but thankfully, he was wearing relatively loose pants today.
However, Xie Fuyi didn’t realize anything was inappropriate, sitting casually on the sofa, legs crossed, drinking milk.
Lin Qiming raised his hand to touch his neck, almost unable to control releasing pheromones—this guy really had no awareness of being an omega at all.
He forcibly suppressed all emotions, walked over, and said gently, “Fuyi, I heard you got drunk last night and were taken away by General Ye. Are you okay?”
He carefully avoided mentioning what might have happened if Xie Fuyi had stayed, instead shifting the focus onto Ye Baixiao, who had saved him.
But he also knew that Young Master Xie probably wouldn’t remember much after getting drunk.
Xie Fuyi indeed furrowed his brows upon hearing this, a hint of anger in his phoenix eyes. “So it was him! No wonder I woke up this morning feeling sore all over. Did he beat me up?”
Lin Qiming’s gaze darkened. Wasn’t it said that Ye Baixiao never approached an omega? Did he really do something to Xie Fuyi?
Xie Fuyi glared at Lin Qiming. “And what about you guys? You just let me be taken away like that?”
Lin Qiming hurriedly explained, “Fuyi, I wasn’t there last night. Even if he’s your fiancé, I would’ve stopped him even if it meant risking my life. But I heard that even Fu Zixuan had his glands damaged by him and is recuperating at home. His grandfather went to the council early this morning to see the king.”
Xie Fuyi finished the last bit of milk, licked his lips clean, and exclaimed, “What fiancé? Tonight, I’ll tell my dad, I’m calling off the engagement!”
His fair skin, pink-tinted lips, and round black eyes gleamed with a hint of anger, like a sulking little peach.
Lin Qiming glanced at him, noticing the rise and fall of his fair chest due to anger, and his gaze drifted downwards… His throat involuntarily constricted, and he pretended to be concerned as he asked, “Fuyi, what’s this about feeling sore and achy? “
Xie Fuyi wrinkled his nose and rubbed his lower back. “Right here. I woke up feeling sore and uncomfortable.”
Lin Qiming sat beside him. “Your back is bothering you too. How about I take a look?”
“Sure,” Xie Fuyi replied casually. He didn’t see anything wrong with an omega undressing in front of an alpha. In his eyes, he considered himself an alpha.
Xie Fuyi loosened the belt of his robe and pulled it down from his shoulders, letting it hang loosely on his arms, exposing his snow-white shoulders and back.
Lin Qiming’s eyes darkened, his voice hoarse as he held Xie Fuyi’s trembling hand to prevent himself from losing control. “Fuyi, this isn’t convenient. How about you lie face down on the sofa?”
Xie Fuyi grumbled impatiently, “Stop dawdling…” but obediently positioned himself.
“Fuyi, is it uncomfortable around your waist? I need to pull it down a bit further…” Lin Qiming’s voice softened as if seeking his consent, his movements swift and confident.
“Mhm,” Xie Fuyi responded indifferently.
Lin Qiming sat beside him, his gaze lingering on the delicate omega clothing half undone, obediently sprawled on the sofa as if allowing him to do as he pleased.
He hooked a finger under the edge of the robe and slowly pulled it down, revealing the smooth curve of the spine descending to the waist. The white, velvety skin was flawless and delicate, except for the two conspicuous bruises marring the surface.
Lin Qiming felt a surge of anger in his chest. He couldn’t help but curse inwardly at Ye Baixiao, pretending to be aloof and virtuous, yet engaging in such despicable acts!
