Chapter 82
As the man’s words fell, Xie Fuyi was startled and took a step back. “Back off!”
His fair cheeks flushed, and he prepared to leave with Ye Baixiao.
“Want to leave?”
How could the man easily let go of such a prized possession that walked right to his doorstep? He quickly stepped forward, reaching out to grab Xie Fuyi’s wrist.
But before his hand could touch the imagined softness of Xie Fuyi’s skin, his own arm was gripped by a vice-like hand. With a gentle yet forceful motion, the bones in his wrist felt a sharp, crushing pain.
A deep voice, laced with frost, rang out, “Do you seek death?”
The man cried out in pain, somewhat incredulous as he looked at the man who, despite his pale complexion, was now holding the omega in his arms. “You, you’re awake?”
Ye Baixiao was indeed seriously injured, but his resilience was strong. He had been under the influence of the drug before, keeping him in a daze. However, he still had some awareness. He could feel Xie Fuyi waking up, helping him stop the bleeding and bandaging his wounds, and then struggling to find a place to rest.
So, he had been trying hard to regain consciousness, especially when facing this despicable male alpha who dared to covet Xie Fuyi.
The intense anger immediately sobered Ye Baixiao up.
Seeing the man’s wrist being broken by the other party, screaming in pain, the other man quickly grabbed a stool nearby, intending to attack.
Despite the tearing pain all over his body, dealing with two low-level alphas was still easy for Ye Baixiao.
He embraced Xie Fuyi and protected him in his arms. With a swift motion, he lifted his leg and kicked the man several meters away, causing him to crash into a pillar and curl up in pain on the ground.
“Ye Baixiao, are you alright?” The young master, who had just been frightened by the man, looked at him now, his concern and worry evident in his words.
Ye Baixiao felt a warmth in his heart. Seeing the mud staining Xie Fuyi’s fair cheeks, he felt both heartache and moved. This pampered young master, when had he ever experienced such hardships?
He patted the person in his arms and comforted, “I’m fine. I’m sorry for worrying you. I’ll protect you.”
Xie Fuyi finally breathed a sigh of relief. He let out a soft hum, then pursed his lips and nuzzled his chin onto Ye Baixiao’s shoulder, murmuring, “…I’m hungry.”
Ye Baixiao was taken aback. The sight of Xie Fuyi relying on him, as if he were being spoiled, instantly softened his heart. He half-embraced him, kicked the trembling man aside while holding his injured hand, and said in a deep voice, “Go find us a room to rest, and bring some food and medicine. I won’t give you a single star coin less, but if you dare to play tricks…”
The dominant alpha pheromones instantly overwhelmed them, causing both men to clutch their heads in pain and roll on the ground.
“I-I understand, we’ll arrange it right away, please spare us, Your Excellency…” The men begged tearfully.
“Let’s go.” Ye Baixiao withdrew his pheromones and led Xie Fuyi to the room.
…
The room wasn’t too large but was tidily arranged and clean.
Food and medicine were quickly delivered. The food consisted of dry cakes and basic nutritional supplements, but in a place like this, it was considered decent.
“We’ll be downstairs. Feel free to instruct us if you need anything.” As the men respectfully bowed and exited, a flash of resentment and malice passed through their lowered eyes—Damn, with injuries like that, how long could he hold on? Once he’s gone, his wife will be theirs!
Although they probably wouldn’t dare to act for now, Ye Baixiao still checked the food thoroughly before allowing Xie Fuyi to eat, ensuring there were no issues.
Ye Baixiao knew that Xie Fuyi didn’t like the taste of nutritional supplements, especially the strange taste of these basic ones. He poured a glass of warm water and handed it to him, softly coaxing, “We can’t find anything delicious here. Just eat a little for now. I’ll make something better for you later.”
Given their current situation, having something to eat was already quite good. Xie Fuyi didn’t want to act like a spoiled young master, so he nodded and took the warm water, eating the dry cakes reluctantly.
Ye Baixiao himself drank two tasteless nutritional supplements and then used water to clean and treat his own wounds.
Xie Fuyi obediently sat at the table, nibbling on the dry cakes, while observing Ye Baixiao’s actions.
In reality, his mind was wandering, contemplating the situation. The protagonist was saved, but what to do next in the storyline?… The protagonist and the antagonist were almost turning against each other; he felt like this world was doomed…
Xie Fuyi’s expression softened as he came to his senses and saw Ye Baixiao shirtless, skillfully applying medicine. The distinct lines of his abdominal muscles were particularly striking, and the fierce wounds on his body added a hint of ferocity and wildness.
Ye Baixiao had several deep lacerations on his back that he couldn’t reach himself.
Most of his injuries were actually sustained while protecting Xie Fuyi. Xie Fuyi couldn’t just sit back and watch, so when he finished eating a cake, he patted his hands and walked over. “Let me help you with the wounds on your back.”
Ye Baixiao paused in his movements, and a hint of warmth crept into his pitch-black, cold eyes—He still cared about him.
“Alright,” he hoarsely replied, handing over the medicine.
Xie Fuyi’s hands were not as skilled, and he was a bit rough when applying the medicine to Ye Baixiao’s wounds. However, Ye Baixiao remained silent, his expression unchanged.
It wasn’t until Xie Fuyi started to wrap the bandage around his wounds that Ye Baixiao’s slender, fair fingers wrapped around Xie Fuyi’s back, shoulders, and then chest as he clumsily helped tie the knots.
The two stood face to face, close together. Xie Fuyi’s shallow breaths fell on Ye Baixiao’s chest, causing him to stiffen slightly. His pitch-black eyes gazed at the person in front of him, radiating a deep warmth.
The air grew still, and the atmosphere inexplicably heated up.
Xie Fuyi could only hear Ye Baixiao’s slow breathing and the strong, steady beat of his heart. His ears burned, and his movements became even clumsier. The delicate corners of his eyes flushed slightly, and he couldn’t help but give Ye Baixiao’s chest a playful pat. “So noisy, make it quiet.”
Ye Baixiao’s body tensed, his breath deepening. He lowered his gaze, locking it onto Xie Fuyi’s face, and spoke hoarsely, “Darling, I can’t control it when I’m with you.”
Ye Baixiao wasn’t one for many words or sweet talk. Calling him by such an intimate term was reminiscent of their passionate encounters last time.
Xie Fuyi’s mind raced, and his ears felt like they were on fire.
“That’s enough.” He tied a hasty knot and turned to leave.
But as he turned, Ye Baixiao’s arm tightened around his waist, pulling him back into his embrace. His voice was hoarse, “Darling, I want to kiss you… I want…”
Before he could finish his sentence, he leaned down and placed a gentle, tentative kiss on Xie Fuyi’s lips.
The kiss was light, filled with intense affection and restrained desire…
Xie Fuyi could feel Ye Baixiao’s restraint and patience, his muscles tensing, a certain part of him exerting a threatening pressure against him.
His eyes widened in realization, embarrassment and anger flooding him. He quickly pushed Ye Baixiao away. “No!”
“I’ll sleep on the bed alone tonight!” With a flushed face, he kicked Ye Baixiao’s leg and hurried back to the bed.
Ye Baixiao’s body was ablaze with surging desire, but as long as Xie Fuyi didn’t want it, he wouldn’t force it.
Sweat beaded on his forehead, and although his black eyes showed a hint of helplessness, he obediently said, “Okay.”
…
At night, Ye Baixiao prepared to sleep on the chair.
Xie Fuyi peeked out from under the covers, glanced at him, and in the end, worried about his wounds, he scooted over in the bed and pretended nonchalantly, “This bed is quite large, and you’re still injured. Don’t freeze to death at night. Come up, let’s sleep together. But, no crossing the line!”
Xie Fuyi gave him a stern glare.
A fluttering sensation stirred in Ye Baixiao’s throat, his heart feeling as if it were soaking in syrup, sweet and soft.
How could this person be so good… Ye Baixiao felt a satisfaction he had never experienced before.
“Okay.” He quickly finished washing up and climbed onto the bed, respecting the boundaries set by Xie Fuyi, his large frame occupying only one side of the bed.
However, Xie Fuyi couldn’t fall asleep because the naturally craving for alpha pheromones from an omega who had been completely marked.
He tossed and turned, unable to sleep, feeling warm in his chest, his cheeks flushing slightly.
Sensing his discomfort, Ye Baixiao felt the same way. With his sweet and fragrant omega right beside him, which alpha could resist?
Unable to hold back, he spoke with a husky voice that sounded almost indecent, “Darling, do you want me to help you?”
Xie Fuyi’s body tensed—he was indeed uncomfortable. Besides, it was just sleeping once; twice wouldn’t make much of a difference…
Turning over, his sharply contrasting eyes showed some hesitation. “But you’re still injured. Will it be… okay…”
His voice dropped to a whisper on the last three words, but to Ye Baixiao’s ears, it sounded like thunder—no alpha could bear their omega doubting their abilities in this area!
“Not okay?” His dark eyes immediately darkened, and he gritted his teeth inwardly. “Darling, you’ll know once you try.”
