Chapter 96
Ye Chiyan had been unable to contact Xie Fuyi since he left yesterday. His calls went unanswered, and his messages were left unread. Worried about him, he could only come to the Xie residence to check on him.
“Why are you here?” a cold voice sounded.
Ye Chiyan looked up to see Xie Fuyi coming down from upstairs. He was still in his pajamas, looking like he had just woken up, his face icy.
Ye Chiyan paused, the joy in his eyes instantly fading. Despite their intimacy yesterday, he now felt they were further apart.
His throat felt dry as he spoke, “Are you feeling alright? You left so suddenly yesterday. I brought you some medicine.”
Xie Fuyi looked at the ointment handed to him, his eyelashes trembling. Quickly, he raised his hand and knocked the medicine to the ground, saying coldly, “It’s none of your business. Go away, I don’t want to see you again.”
Ye Chiyan’s body stiffened, suppressing the sourness in his chest. “How can it be none of my business? We’ve…”
Xie Fuyi cut him off, “Are you trying to say we slept together? So what? I told you, it was just out of curiosity.”
Ye Chiyan watched him discuss this matter so casually, his beautiful black eyes turning icy. His heart throbbed painfully. “Am I just a substitute then?”
Facing Ye Chiyan’s questioning, Xie Fuyi fell silent for a moment, then smirked mockingly. “What else? You don’t really think I like you, do you?”
Ye Chiyan’s face turned pale instantly, but soon an ugly smile appeared on his face. He reached out to touch Xie Fuyi, his voice hoarse, “Even if I’m just a substitute, it doesn’t matter. As long as you’re by my side.”
Xie Fuyi’s gaze shook as he looked into his black eyes, then he lowered his gaze, his expression becoming impatient and disgusted. “Do you not understand human language? From start to finish, I’ve never liked you! And besides, you’re nothing like him, not even worthy of being a substitute.”
He said it bluntly, tilting his neck to reveal the clear marks under his pajamas.
Ye Chiyan looked at the kiss marks spread across his fair skin, clearly visible. It was enough to see how intense the night had been. His eyes reddened in disbelief, and he grabbed Xie Fuyi’s wrist, pulling him closer. “What is this?”
Xie Fuyi tilted his head indifferently, “Even if you’re just a substitute, it doesn’t have to be you. Anyone else can do it, so stop bothering me.”
“Xie Fuyi!” Heartache and anger had long since robbed Ye Chiyan of his reason. He pushed him onto the sofa, his eyes red, his voice trembling, “Are you that desperate for a man? Anyone can sleep with you?”
Xie Fuyi struggled to push him away, his expression provocative, “Anyone can, except you.”
“Is that so?” Ye Chiyan was provoked, and he kissed him directly on the sofa.
“Let him go!”
Xie Huaixiao, who had been in the shadows all along, immediately stepped forward and pushed Ye Chiyan away with a punch.
Staggering to stand firm, Ye Chiyan looked at Xie Fuyi being helped up from the sofa by Xie Huaixiao, his expression somewhat enlightened. Then, his eyes were filled with resentment and mockery as he looked at Xie Fuyi, “It seems they’re also your bedfellows. You truly are a woman’s plaything…”
Xie Fuyi’s face turned pale instantly. He opened his mouth to explain—he and they were not that kind of relationship, he was forced.
But what use was it?
His goal was to make Ye Chiyan give up.
“I’ll make you regret this,” Ye Chiyan wiped the blood from the corner of his lips and turned to leave—wasn’t he unable to leave the man? Since that was the case, he would snatch him back and lock him in bed every day.
Xie Fuyi: …I wonder who will end up regretting.
…
After Ye Chiyan left, Xie Huaixiao immediately hugged Xie Fuyi, who was weak all over and almost fell down, and comforted him, “Darling, don’t be sad, I’ll be with you from now on.”
Xie Fuyi’s face was pale, ignoring them, his eyes dull and lost.
“Have some water first.” Xie Tingbai poured a cup of hot water for him and handed it over.
Xie Fuyi didn’t take it, pursing his lips and slowly lifting his head to look at him. “I’ve done as you asked. Don’t hurt him anymore.”
Xie Huaisao’s body stiffened. Even so, Xie Fuyi still had that man in his mind and heart.
His heart clenched, his eyes reddened, and his voice choked, “Darling, after he treated you like that, you still like him?”
“You promised.” Xie Fuyi turned his pale face away, his eyes lifeless, yet particularly stubborn at this moment.
Xie Tingbai and Xie Huaisao suddenly felt uneasy.
Xie Tingbai squeezed his cold hand and nodded. “Don’t worry, I’ll keep my word.”
“That’s good.” Xie Fuyi’s body went limp, and he lowered his head as if he had relaxed all at once. “I want to rest for a while.”
Xie Huaisao wanted to carry him upstairs, but was pushed away by him. He supported himself against the stairs and slowly climbed upstairs step by step.
“Fuyi?”
“Don’t disturb me. I don’t want to see you.” Xie Fuyi didn’t even turn his head, saying lightly, and closed the bedroom door.
The two hesitated outside the door, but didn’t dare to force their way in. At this moment, the person inside probably disliked them the most.
But it’s okay, they’ll be good to him from now on, and they’ll be with him for life.
After a while, Xie Tingbai said gently, “Fuyi, I’m not going to work today, I’ll be in the study, call me if you need anything.”
Xie Huaisao also said, “Darling, I’ll go to the kitchen and make you some delicious food, I’ll bring it over later.”
It was very quiet inside, and after waiting for a while, there was a very faint response.
Feeling relieved, they each turned and left.
…
Xie Fuyi loved good food, and Xie Huaisao, who used to keep his distance from the kitchen, now became increasingly skilled at cooking.
He carefully stewed a pot of chicken soup, intending to nourish Xie Fuyi’s body. After all, it’s said that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.
There’s plenty of time in the future, and he’ll surely make him fall in love with him.
When the chicken soup in the kitchen was ready, Xie Huaisao carried it upstairs and knocked on the door, “Darling, have some food.”
There was still no movement inside for a long time.
Xie Huaisao felt something was wrong. It was too quiet inside.
“Darling?” He knocked on the door again, still no response.
His panic grew stronger and stronger, and finally, unable to control himself, he kicked the door open with great force.
There was no one in the bedroom, and the bed was neatly made as if no one had rested on it.
Only the sound of dripping water in the bathroom.
Xie Huaisao’s heart was pounding rapidly. He hurried over, but in the next moment, his pupils shrank, his eyes widened in horror, his face drained of color.
“Fuyi!”
