Chapter 46: The People Outside Are Fierce
Wei Xiaojun felt a chill run through her body in anger.
As a widow, it wasn’t easy for her to come out and make a living like this, and she had heard plenty of gossip.
But these two men were clearly there to bully her openly.
Business was important, and although there weren’t many customers coming in at this hour, there were still people passing by. She didn’t want to start a dispute and become a laughingstock.
So she held her breath and kept a cold expression: “Just this noon, I had groups of female workers coming to patronize my stall. I have a good memory and truly haven’t seen you two here before; perhaps you’ve mistaken the place.”
As she spoke, Wei Xiaojun’s mother, seeing the situation, became anxious and left the stove, putting down the spatula to protect her daughter.
The men laughed mockingly, seeing that it was just the two widows running the stall, which made them feel even bolder.
Determined that even if they couldn’t physically attack her, they would take advantage of the situation with their words.
One man put on a rogue expression, raising his eyebrows in a sneering manner: “Mistaken? Oh, so if you say I’m mistaken, then I’m mistaken?”
“I also say that last night, you sneaked up and wouldn’t let go of my shorts, insisting on smelling me, saying that a man makes you feel all hot and bothered!! Hahaha!”
The other man joined in with laughter, spewing vulgarities.
In no time, more and more people gathered around to watch the commotion.
Wei Xiaojun’s face turned red with anger, a surge of rage swelling up inside her as she gritted her teeth and turned to grab a long bench.
This was too much to bear!
The two reckless men continued their filthy talk, and seeing Wei Xiaojun holding back tears and silently looking for something to defend herself with, their expressions grew even more smug.
They were just waiting for her to make a move!
It was even better; if they got into a scuffle, they could take the opportunity to taste this young widow’s charm amidst the chaos…
The man shaking his leg grinned wickedly, his eyes fixed hungrily on Wei Xiaojun.
He lifted his foot, intending to stomp on the table in front of him, and without even glancing, impatiently said to the person sitting next to him, “If you know what’s good for you, get lost…”
Before he could finish his sentence, a powerful grip yanked his raised leg.
The man looked down in confusion.
A young man was expressionlessly holding onto his leg.
In the next moment, he watched helplessly as the young man effortlessly bent his leg like snapping a green onion in two…!
!!
The onlookers fell silent for a moment.
In an instant, the sound of a man screaming in agony like a slaughtered pig rang out—
“Ahhh, mother! My leg!!!”
At the table.
Wei Xiaojun’s eyes were still red, and she forced a smile as she quietly apologized to Xia Li: “I’m really sorry, Li Zi. I wanted to treat you well, but then this happened, making you witness such a spectacle.”
She glanced at the man who had done this, Jiang Chenyi: “Jiang, it’s really thanks to you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how today would have ended.”
Wei Xiaojun recalled the earlier scene and felt a lingering fear, but more than that, she was impressed and shocked.
Jiang Chenyi appeared cold and aloof, but she didn’t expect him to be so strong.
He silently broke that thug’s leg in an instant without actually snapping it, leaving the guy in excruciating pain, sweating and rolling around, looking anything but human.
Nearby, some people who had eaten at Wei Xiaojun’s stall earlier came forward and chased away the other man, who looked terrified and bewildered:
“Hey, you! What kind of man bullies women? You dare to cause trouble in broad daylight?!”
Those who had previously enjoyed the spectacle were now rushing over to curse at the two troublemakers.
The man no longer dared to cause more trouble. Facing the young man who had just broken his brother’s leg, he saw the cold indifference in his eyes, which seemed to promise that he could easily break his leg too.
The thug quickly dragged his howling brother away, trembling and leaving behind a harsh remark, not daring to look back as he hurriedly fled.
As the saying goes, it’s not the fierce ones you should fear, but the reckless ones.
This man had silently broken someone’s leg! His face showed no expression at all! It was truly terrifying to behold!
Next time, he would gather a few more brothers to reclaim his pride and make sure to take this guy down!!
He would remember him!!
Xia Li, in fact, didn’t even flinch when she saw the man easily break someone’s leg; she felt a tightness in her chest.
Those standing far away didn’t see clearly, but she had observed closely.
After breaking the other man’s leg, the man wiped his hands in disdain and then looked up at her with a serious yet aggrieved expression, speaking in a low voice:
“Li Zi, let’s go back early. The people outside are really fierce.”
Xia Li: ??
