Chapter 14
The old woman stared at Feng Moyan with a pair of calculating eyes, looking him up and down with a fierce look on her face.
“Even if you beat my grandson, I will just eat some of your food. That’s because I respect you.
A money-losing commodity is dressed so well. I don’t know which capitalist is trying to seduce people. How shameless.
Look at this bastard bullying us ordinary people. My grandson is starving, but there is nothing we can do. We are all poor people and cannot compare to this capitalist. “
Pedestrians were getting on and off the train, and many of them stopped here to watch. People nowadays don’t have many ways to entertain themselves, and they all rely on their mouths to express themselves.
Those who live in the sleeper berths are either public officials or people with some family background. They won’t gossip casually, but there are a few conspicuous bags.
“It’s just eating some of your food. Little girl, you have so much, why not share some with this child? Besides, look how pitiful he is. We are all working people, so please lend a hand.”
The old woman smiled brightly: “This elder sister knows how to talk. Our family has been poor farmers for eight generations. We can’t even afford to eat, so we took our grandson to look for relatives.”
How could Feng Moyan not see that she was acting? He stood by with his arms folded, staring at the child who was still throwing a tantrum on the ground.
“Auntie, since you are so generous, why don’t you give your dry food and money directly to this old woman and let her live? It would be great. You are the most generous.”
The woman who was speaking righteously just now seemed to have her heel stepped on. “Why? That’s my own money. Why should I give it to a stranger?”
Feng Moyan looked at her teasingly: “Then why do you want me to give it to her? I am also a stranger and an orphan. Can someone pity me? I am in great need of money.”
She even stretched out her hand to the people around her, with a low smile in her eyes, and looked at the old woman with intimidation, as if it was a warning to her.
The naughty monkey on the ground didn’t know why his grandma’s always successful trick failed this time. He clearly acted it out just as he was told.
“Grandma, I’m hungry. This compensation package is full of delicious food, and there’s even meat. I can smell it. Hurry up and give it to her. I want to eat. I’m starving.”
The old woman looked at Feng Moyan and was at a loss as to what to do. She immediately sat down in the corridor and refused to get up, looking like she was about to throw a tantrum.
“Oh my God, look at this, this is Miss Capital’s style. We just want to ask for some food, and she attacked us. She is the only one in three generations, and she is trying to kill us.”
“Please, young lady, please be merciful and give us something to eat. We will leave immediately. A child can’t eat much. Please be kind.”
The people around seemed to be watching the show, and they also wanted to see whether the other party would compromise. After all, when faced with such a thing, it would be difficult for a young girl to handle it with her thin skin.
Who knew Feng Moyan would just raise his hand and slap her, “If you say the word Miss Capital again, I’ll smash your dog face.”
“My parents sacrificed their lives for the country. I went to the countryside to support national construction. You actually said that I am a capitalist. You are slandering the children of martyrs. How many lives do you have? Don’t you want to live anymore?”
“If my parents knew that someone abused their children after their death, they would die with regret.
It’s been less than a month and you’re talking nonsense like this. If I were a weak character, you would have forced me to death.”
“Tell me, who sent you to follow me?”
“I have reason to suspect that your enemy’s spies are approaching me. You are clearly dressed in rags, yet you come to this sleeper berth. Show me your tickets.
I want to see where you are, otherwise I will send you to see the police now, hurry up and take it out.”
The old woman’s eyes flickered. She just wanted to take advantage and explore the way, but how did she run into an evil spirit?
The old woman looked at a person in the crowd, made eye contact, and immediately knelt on the ground, kowtowing as if to apologize.
“We were wrong. We just took advantage of him because our family was too poor. Please let us go. We won’t dare to do it again.”
“Goudan, hurry up and apologize to this comrade. We were wrong.”
“It’s all your fault for being greedy. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be scolded like that.”
Goudan must have been spoiled. He stood up and was about to attack Feng Moyan, but the conductor grabbed him by the collar and said, “Your identity is suspicious. Come with us.”
The old woman grabbed the conductor’s hand and said, “You are all in the same group. We are just very hungry and want to order some food. Is this against the law?”
“Is it because this vixen is pretty that you all side with her? Let my grandson go quickly, or I will kill you.”
The dirty little boy kicked and beat his legs: “Let us go quickly, or my father will kill you. You are all worthless. Let me go quickly.”
There was a man in secret who got off the train quickly. Now the train hadn’t started yet and no one noticed.
Feng Moyan smiled, a little bewitchingly: “Old woman, do you think I will be scared if you say that?”
“Goudan, do you know where your father killed someone, who he killed, and where the body is?”
“If you tell me, I’ll give you this bun, okay?”
“This is meat. You probably don’t eat much of it, but I have quite a few here. If you tell me, I’ll give you all of them.”
The old woman then panicked: “Goudan, I can’t believe it. Your father didn’t kill anyone. Don’t talk nonsense.”
Feng Moyan felt that she was about to solve the case, so she deliberately took out a bun from her bag and broke it open to reveal the fillings inside.
“Look at all this meat. If you tell me, I’ll give it to you. All of it. How about that?”
Goudan swallowed his saliva and could not remember anything. He only knew that he wanted to eat meat: “My father killed my mother and my grandfather because my mother seduced my grandfather and was discovered by my grandmother.
So my dad killed them and buried them in our backyard where no one could find them.”
“Where is your home? Do you remember?”
Goudan seemed to be reminiscing. He looked at the bun in her hand and became even hungrier. “My home is in Gada Village. It’s very far away. You probably don’t know it.”
The old woman’s mouth was covered and she couldn’t utter a word, but her ferocious face made people more suspicious.
“Comrade, the case has been solved, report it now!”
“I even have reason to suspect that his father has received the news and got off the train. You need to act immediately.”
“Goodbye, I won’t see you off.”
It was the first time that the conductor met such a calm girl, and his eyes were full of scrutiny. Could she really be the child of a martyr?
“Comrade, could you please come over here? We need to take a statement. After all, this is not a trivial matter.”
Feng Moyan frowned: “I am an educated youth sent to the countryside. If I miss this train, I will not be able to catch up. Will you be responsible?”
The conductor didn’t know what to say. The conductor Song An came over from behind and said, “You are Mo Yan’s niece, right? I’m Qiu Lianhai’s buddy. The train will leave in ten minutes. You can follow me.”
If it’s too late, I’ll buy you a ticket and take you to Heilongjiang Province, how about that? “
Feng Moyan bowed slightly to him: “Hello, Uncle Song, since Uncle Song said so, then I will go there.”
He casually put on his backpack and left with a bunch of food.
Goudan looked at the thing in her hand and seemed to be thinking: “Where are my buns?”
Feng Moyan stuffed it into his bag: “This is my stuff, why should I give it to you? You’re just dreaming.”
Goudan seemed to realize for the first time that he had been cheated: “Liar, liar, you are such a money-loser, I’m going to kill you.”
Feng Moyan didn’t care whether he lived or died. No one could take advantage of her unless she was willing.
