Chapter 13 Borrowing Clothes

You Chong’s room was at the end of the corridor. Lin Hexi counted the door numbers as he walked along, finally arriving at the door. He raised his hand and knocked.

After waiting for a couple of seconds without any response, Lin Hexi calmly knocked again. There was still no movement inside the room through the door panel.

Assuming that You Chong wasn’t in the room, Lin Hexi was about to turn and leave when he noticed a small card slipped under the door. Glancing down, he bent over to pick up the card.

At that moment, the door was opened from the inside, revealing two long, straight legs. You Chong’s cold and impatient voice came from above, “I don’t need any services.”

Lin Hexi paused slightly in his bent posture, stood up straight with the card in hand, and smiled brightly, with a subtly rising tone, “What kind of service?”

Seeing Lin Hexi’s face, You Chong’s expression softened slightly, but then he remembered the unpleasant events from a few hours ago and didn’t give him a friendly look, “What do you want?”

“Yes, there is,” he nodded seriously, “Can you let me in?”

You Chong squinted cautiously and said, “If you have something to say, say it outside.”

Without specifying the matter, Lin Hexi glanced down at the card in his fingers, raised it, and asked, “Is someone harassing you?”

You Chong showed a look of extreme annoyance.

Lin Hexi flicked the card lightly with his fingers and said sincerely, “I can help you with that.”

You Chong refused coldly, “No need.”

Lin Hexi shrugged slightly with a hint of regret, and explained his purpose.

Naturally, he was unwilling to lend his clothes, You Chong raised his hand to close the door, “Go borrow from someone else.”

Lin Hexi quickly reached out to block the door, “But who else can I borrow from?” He showed just the right amount of sorrow, “Out of everyone, I’m most familiar with you.”

You Chong looked at him with a heavy gaze, feeling a bit of a headache from Lin Hexi’s ability to twist the truth and spout nonsense, “How come I don’t know when I became the person you’re most familiar with?”

Lin Hexi earnestly counted on his fingers, seriously listing things for him, and finally summarized, “You see Lin Tong as your brother, right? Lin Tong deliberately didn’t tell me about spending the night at the hotel, and I almost had to sleep in the car. As his older brother, shouldn’t you clean up Lin Tong’s mess?”

He spoke these words calmly and clearly, as if he didn’t realize that he himself was Lin Tong’s half-brother.

“Moreover, I have to take your car back tomorrow morning.” Lin Hexi said with an air of entitlement, deliberately drawing out his words, “If you don’t let me change clothes in this weather, I can’t guarantee there won’t be some strange smell in your car tomorrow.”

You Chong didn’t respond.

It wasn’t because of Lin Hexi’s arguments, but because of what Lin Tong had said. After all, the person in front of him wasn’t here willingly, and You Chong didn’t want his car to get dirty either.

You Chong silently furrowed his brow and finally looked up at Lin Hexi, “Wait outside, don’t come in.”

Lin Hexi readily agreed, “Okay.”

Only then did You Chong release his grip on the door and turn to walk back into the room. After taking a few steps, he seemed a bit uneasy and turned his head to glance back at Lin Hexi.

Meeting You Chong’s gaze, Lin Hexi lightly pursed his lips and gave an obedient smile with his deceptively innocent face, standing firmly outside the door, “I’m not coming in.”

You Chong turned back and walked toward the backpack on the chair.

Outside the door, Lin Hexi’s lips curled slightly as he naturally stepped into the room, and closed the door behind him. He casually glanced around the room and finally focused on the unplugged telephone on the bedside table. After a moment’s thought, he reacted, “Someone else has been harassing you over the phone?”

You Chong turned around with an annoyed expression, looking at the untrustworthy person who had entered the room, “Didn’t I tell you to wait outside?”

Lin Hexi sat down on an empty chair nearby, earnestly massaging his legs. His beautiful, dark eyes watched You Chong closely, hiding a subtle mischievous smile, “I got tired of standing, so I thought I’d come in and sit for a while.”

His eyes were indeed beautiful, with dark, round pupils, slightly narrow in shape, and deep lines at the corners. When he smiled, the ends of his eyes would lift slightly. When he was unhappy, the ends of his eyes would droop slightly, giving him a somewhat pitiful look.

Suddenly meeting his gaze, You Chong’s expression froze, but in the end, he said nothing more.

Seeing You Chong stop talking, Lin Hexi was somewhat surprised but didn’t ask anything. Instead, he sat quietly in the chair, waiting for You Chong to get the clothes.

Suddenly, a slight sound of footsteps came from outside.

Both of them looked towards the door and saw another small card being pushed in from outside. After slipping the card under the door, the person outside knocked on the door. The lightly closed door slowly opened a bit under the external force, revealing half of You Chong’s face as he sat facing the door.

Seeing You Chong’s handsome facial features, the person outside paused and, boldly, placed slender fingers with red nail polish on the edge of the door, and pushed it open a bit more. A heavily made-up but strikingly beautiful face appeared, speaking softly and seductively, “Hey there, do you need any special services?”

You Chong looked at her coldly, and said with a deep and stern voice, “Get lost.”

The woman, as if entranced, didn’t give up. Instead, she lifted her smooth, pale leg under her short skirt and stepped into the room. But upon seeing another person inside, she hesitated at the door. Quickly, the thought of three people together seemed quite appealing to her.

Unaware of her thoughts, Lin Hexi stood up from the chair without changing his expression, walked leisurely to the woman, and nonchalantly flicked the small card he had been holding. He tilted his lips arrogantly, looked her up and down with disdain, and said in a slow, contemptuous tone, “With someone like you, you think you can compete with me for business?”

You Chong, who had also stood up and was about to walk to the door, suddenly paused, his expression complicated and beyond words as he looked at Lin Hexi’s back.

In hotels, the teams that provide special services to single men usually have shady deals with the hotel. The woman stared in shock at the unfamiliar young man before her, unsure of his background, and defiantly pushed out her chest with pronounced curves.

Lin Hexi leaned against the door frame with one hand, bending down slightly. His voice was ambiguous but clear, “What good is a big chest? He likes those with a bit more down there.”

Upon hearing this, the woman indeed didn’t argue any further. Then, she left with a look of disappointment.

Lin Hexi closed the door, turned around, and before he could say anything, a loose T-shirt, carried by a slight breeze and its owner’s anger, was thrown at him.

The next second, the view suddenly darkened. Lin Hexi couldn’t dodge in time and had his whole face buried in the shirt. He heard You Chong’s voice, “When did I ever say I like those with a bit more down there?”

Lin Hexi, smiled widely, pulled the shirt off his head and brought it to his face, and his nose twitched slightly as he sniffed it.

Seeing his actions, You Chong said irritably, “Stop sniffing it, it’s clean.”

The familiar fresh scent of laundry detergent filled his nose, making Lin Hexi’s smile widened. He replied cheerfully, “Thanks.”

You Chong’s gaze lingered on his face for a moment before he nonchalantly looked away, his expression returning to its usual coldness. “It’s just a thank you for helping me get rid of the trouble. Don’t think this will change how I see you.”

Lin Hexi held the shirt with an innocent look, “I never thought that.”

A faint trace of annoyance flickered in You Chong’s eyes, “What are you implying?”

Lin Hexi smiled but avoided answering the previous question, “I still need a pair of pants.”

You Chong frowned, “I don’t have any extra pants.”

“Oh, I see.” Lin Hexi nodded slightly disappointed, then slowly walked over to him. Suddenly, he leaned close to You Chong’s face and lowered his voice, “Then, do you have any underwear?”

You Chong abruptly turned his face towards him, and gaze at him heavily, “Lin Hexi, don’t push your luck.”

Lin Hexi stepped back, stifling a laugh, “Sorry,” he apologized, then showed a troubled expression, “But in this hot weather, wearing the same underwear for two days without changing would stink, wouldn’t it?”

After a moment, You Chong responded by throwing an underwear package at him, accompanied by a cold admonition, “Wear it and then throw it away. Don’t give it back to me.”
