Chapter 70: Going to the Library

There was only one pillow on the master bed. You Chong went to the side room to get a new pillow and told Lin Hexi to wait for him in the bedroom.

Sharing the same bed at a hotel and sharing the same bed now were two entirely different things, and Lin Hexi, in a rare moment, felt nervous.

Even so, his face showed no hint of it. After taking off his shoes and getting on the bed, he calmly lay on his stomach, playing on his phone.

A moment later, You Chong came in with a new pillow. Lin Hexi sat up from the bed and made room for him on the other half of the bed.

You Chong tossed the pillow to him and lifted his hand to unfold the quilt stacked at the head of the bed.

Staring at the spread-out quilt for a couple of seconds, Lin Hexi inexplicably felt his face heat up. He instinctively lifted one of the corners of the quilt, held his phone, and slipped under it, lying down with his chin resting lightly on the blanket, only his face peeking out.

The warm yellow light from the bedside lamp softly fell on his forehead and the tip of his nose, complementing his dark short hair, making Lin Hexi appear especially well-behaved.

However, Lin Hexi’s personality was anything but well-behaved. You Chong’s lips curled slightly as he quickly came back to his senses. He sat down on the other side of the bed, then lifted the quilt and lay down next to him.

The double bed in the master bedroom wasn’t much smaller than the one in the hotel; after they lay down, there was still enough space in the middle for their Alaskan dog to comfortably sprawl out.

However, neither of them made any move toward the center of the bed. Lin Hexi, in fact, quickly turned off the wall lamp switch by the side of the bed.

The room was suddenly plunged into deep darkness, and Lin Hexi silently exhaled a breath of relief. Then, under the cover of night, he slowly inched his way toward You Chong’s side under the blanket.

In his whole life, Lin Hexi had never had the experience of lying so intimately with someone else in the same bed.

Even from the time he could remember, he had no memories of falling asleep in his birth mother’s embrace.

The last time at the seaside hotel, waking up in You Chong’s arms was something even he hadn’t anticipated. At least before falling asleep that night, he had still been lying obediently on the other side of the bed.

For Lin Hexi, wearing loose pajamas and letting down all his defenses to share a bed with someone close was something that required even more seriousness than kissing.

The warmth on his fingertips pulled him back to reality as Lin Hexi found You Chong’s hand under the blanket.

He couldn’t help but turn his face from the pillow to look at You Chong, only to realize that he couldn’t see anything in the darkness.

After stopping all his movements, Lin Hexi curled his fingertips and gently scratched You Chong’s hand.

In the dark, he heard the sound of You Chong turning over, as if facing him. The hand beneath You Chong shifted, and he grasped Lin Hexi’s hand, pulling him closer.

Lin Hexi, relaxing his body, rolled forward, following the pull of You Chong’s hand, and was then embraced by You Chong, who reached out from under the blanket.

His head rested beside You Chong’s face, his back pressed against You Chong’s chest, with the sound of You Chong’s soft breathing close by his ear. Lin Hexi curved his lips into a smile in the darkness, and just before he drifted off into a deep sleep, the only thought in his mind was—

The extra pillow You Chong brought seemed unnecessary.

Lin Hexi hadn’t attended any more classes at the International College. You Chong got the first-year class schedules for all the Art College classes from Xia Chengfeng, and also borrowed first-year textbooks from him. Lin Hexi began attending classes at the Art College from Friday onwards.

During the day, he didn’t go out of his way to find You Chong at school. In the evenings, after returning to his rented apartment and showering, he would go upstairs to You Chong’s place to sleep.

After having spent nearly three years in a leisurely state, Lin Hexi found it a bit difficult to adjust to suddenly becoming busy.

One evening, while sitting on the sofa with You Chong watching an action movie with a noisy background, Lin Hexi fell asleep halfway through, leaning against the couch.

You Chong got up to turn off the projector and woke Lin Hexi up to brush his teeth and go to bed.

After yawning, Lin Hexi finally stood up and squinted as he walked to the bathroom.

Eager to get into bed, he completely forgot about You Chong’s plan to go to the library on Saturday, and before lying down, he even deliberately turned off the alarm on his phone.

Unexpectedly, eight hours later, the alarm still went off on time.

Half-asleep with his eyes closed, Lin Hexi could still feel the weight on his waist disappear, followed by the sound of someone getting out of bed beside him.

He turned over alone under the blanket, burying his ear into the pillow while reaching out toward the nightstand to grab his still-ringing phone.

You Chong pressed down on his hand that was waving aimlessly in the air and reached over him to take the phone from the nightstand.

Lin Hexi mumbled with his eyes still closed, “Turn off the alarm for me.”

No response came from You Chong beside him. Lin Hexi patiently waited another second, only to be greeted by the persistent ringing of the alarm in his ear.

Frowning deeply, Lin Hexi pulled the pillow from under his face and covered his head with it.

You Chong casually tossed the ringing phone next to his head and calmly reached out to lift the pillow off Lin Hexi’s face.

Finally, Lin Hexi couldn’t take it anymore. He opened his eyes and abruptly sat up in bed, his tone full of threat, “If you keep this up, I’ll—”

You Chong, unfazed, interrupted him, “You’ll do what?”

Lin Hexi leaned forward, crashing into You Chong’s chest, grabbing his face with both hands, and fiercely bit down on his lips. “Then I’ll kiss you without brushing my teeth.”

You Chong caught him, letting Lin Hexi bite at his lips haphazardly before hooking his hand around the back of Lin Hexi’s collar, pulling him away. He slowly uttered three words: “The library.”

Lin Hexi’s body instantly stiffened, and his expression quickly deflated. “Can we not go?”

You Chong replied, “No.”

Lin Hexi lowered his head, his dark eyes shifting slightly. When he spoke again, his voice had turned weak and pitiful, “My stomach hurts.”

You Chong remained unmoved. “You have ten minutes to wash your face and brush your teeth.”

With that, he was about to let go of Lin Hexi and get out of bed.

Lin Hexi was silent for two seconds, realizing he had to use his last resort.

He reached for the phone beside his pillow and, with a cheerful smile, called out to You Chong, “Turn off the alarm for me, and I’ll get up right now to brush my teeth.”

You Chong, suspecting nothing, took the phone and asked, “What’s the password?”

Lin Hexi recited a series of numbers.

You Chong entered the password to unlock the phone, turned off the still loudly ringing alarm, and handed the phone back to Lin Hexi.

Lin Hexi, sitting on the bed, reached out to take it. As soon as his fingertips gripped the other end of the phone, he forcefully yanked it toward himself.

You Chong, still holding the phone and caught off guard, was suddenly pulled toward the edge of the bed.

Lin Hexi snatched the phone and tossed it back beside the pillow, then used his own hand to grab You Chong’s, pulling him down as he leaned back onto the bed.

You Chong quickly regained his balance, stabilizing himself. He raised one leg, pressing it against the bed’s edge, and knelt on the bed with one knee, looking down at Lin Hexi with an amused expression.

Still holding You Chong’s hand without letting go, Lin Hexi instinctively lifted his two straight long legs, bending slightly at the knees, and securely hooked them around You Chong’s waist.

His gaze, shimmering with a hint of affection, locked deeply onto You Chong’s eyes. Lin Hexi’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he slowly and deliberately licked his lips. “Wanna do it?”

You Chong didn’t move, but the emotions in his eyes deepened noticeably.

Seeing that You Chong seemed unaffected, Lin Hexi thought to himself that it wasn’t quite enough, so he decided to stoke the fire a little more.

Lin Hexi lifted his pajamas up above his chest, tilting his face up slightly, like prey willingly exposing its vulnerable spot to the hunter. He revealed his slender, tense neck to You Chong.

The tops of his feet pressed firmly against You Chong’s lower back, gently rubbing against his waist.

With a tone that seemed almost bewitching, Lin Hexi asked again in a low voice, “Not doing it?”

You Chong’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he reached out and grasped Lin Hexi’s ankle.

The warmth from You Chong’s palm spread from his ankle, igniting a trail up along Lin Hexi’s calf.

Receiving the unspoken signal, Lin Hexi’s lips curled slightly, and the foot pressed against You Chong’s waist exerted a bit more force, guiding him onto the bed.

You Chong, as expected, didn’t remain still but followed the pressure from Lin Hexi’s foot, bending down and bracing himself on the bed, kneeling above Lin Hexi with an unreadable expression.

As he met You Chong’s unfathomable gaze, Lin Hexi lowered his legs and silently lifted his eyes. His gaze slanted upward slightly, with the corners of his eyes carrying a hint of something indescribable and elusive.

You Chong’s arms, braced on either side of Lin Hexi’s face, bent slightly as he slowly lowered his head, stopping by Lin Hexi’s ear.

Warm breaths brushed against his ear, bringing a faint tickling sensation. Lin Hexi turned his head, fully exposing the ear that was growing hot from You Chong’s breath.

You Chong squinted slightly, his cool lips brushing against the base of Lin Hexi’s ear, barely touching as they lightly grazed it. Then, with a low, husky voice, dripping with an indescribable allure, he whispered slowly, word by word, into Lin Hexi’s ear, “Get up. We’re going to the library.”

Lin Hexi was so furious that he was at a loss for words.
