His Romance
His Romance Chapter 10.2

Shen Nan, being polite, called out, “Aunt Zhou.”

He should have called her “Mom,” but calling her that in front of Zhou Zuizui might cause her to turn hostile immediately.

Mrs. Zhou’s eyelashes fluttered, and she looked at Zhou Zuizui behind Shen Nan with tears in her eyes, asking, “Chui Chui, did you come back to see Mom?”

Zhou Zuizui, with her legs crossed and sitting on the sofa, glanced at Mrs. Zhou with a cold look and said, “No.”

Mrs. Zhou paused, her eyes welling with tears as she looked at Zhou Zuizui with a pitiful expression and asked, “Chui Chui, don’t you miss Mom?”

Shen Nan glanced at his wife with helplessness.

Zhou Zuizui looked at the woman not far away, unsure of how to react. They had used this tactic before when they had locked her up and threatened her. She felt no sympathy for this kind of crying, only annoyance.

The more she stayed here and looked at the familiar faces, the more restless and irritable she became.

Zhou Zuizui immediately stood up from the chair, facing Mrs. Zhou with sharp words to defend herself: “Since you’re not immobile yet, there’s no need for Shen Nan to notify me to come back.” She scoffed coldly and added, “After all, you’ve used this trick once before.”

With that, she turned to leave.

But before she could get out, a stern-looking middle-aged man entered from outside, holding something and dressed in casual clothes, glaring at her.

“Zhou Zuizui.” The man approached her.

Zhou Zuizui instinctively took a step back, and Shen Nan reached out, steadying her by the waist.

She calmed herself, looked at the man, and pressed her lips together.

The man’s expression turned cold, and he furiously raised his hand to strike her, “Do you think that now you’re married you’ve grown wings?”

*Smack!*

The slap landed not on Zhou Zuizui’s face but on Shen Nan’s arm.

Shen Nan shielded Zhou Zuizui with his body.

She was taken aback, looking at Shen Nan in shock. Before she could react, Shen Nan pulled her behind him, his gaze dark as he faced the man, “Uncle Zhou.”

Mr. Zhou was startled, not expecting Shen Nan to intervene.

Shen Nan met his gaze, pointing to Zhou Zuizui and speaking with disapproval, “Chui Chui came back to visit Auntie, not to be slapped by you the moment she arrives.”

Before Mr. Zhou could respond, Shen Nan continued with a serious tone, “You are an elder, and we juniors cannot refute you or say you are wrong. But…” He paused, pulling Zhou Zuizui to his side and speaking softly, “Chui Chui is now my wife. Whatever mistakes she makes or errors she commits, it’s my responsibility to bear.”

With that, Shen Nan politely nodded to Mrs. Zhou and said, “Chui Chui and I have things to attend to. Since Auntie has no further issues, we’ll be leaving now.”

*Bang!* The door closed behind them, separating them from the increasingly distant distance.

After getting in the car, Zhou Zuizui didn’t care about Shen Nan’s current expression and immediately started tugging at his clothes.

Shen Nan, amused and helpless, grasped her wrist and asked, “What are you doing?”

“I’m checking.” Zhou Zuizui glared at him, “Why did you block him? He should have hit me.”

In that way, no matter what she said or did, she wouldn’t feel deeply guilty afterward. It wasn’t the first time he had hit her, so one more time wouldn’t matter.

Shen Nan was taken aback and looked down at her causing a ruckus, then said, “It’s really nothing.”

“Then we need to check,” Zhou Zuizui insisted, continuing to try and remove his clothes.

She was practically lying on him to get his clothes off. But since Shen Nan was wearing two layers today, after removing the outer layer, there was still one more underneath. Zhou Zuizui had no choice but to lean in a bit more.

At first, Shen Nan didn’t feel much, but after a while, her soft body pressing against him became difficult to endure.

He was a normal man, and even more so when the person clinging to him was his wife.

When Zhou Zuizui’s cold hand touched his skin, Shen Nan’s gaze darkened. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and before his rationality completely slipped away, he grabbed Zhou Zuizui and pushed her back into the passenger seat, scolding, “Sit properly. We’ll deal with this when we get home!”

Zhou Zuizui was taken aback, with curiosity in her eyes, and she asked, “Deal with what when we get home?”

Shen Nan was amused by her question.

He and Zhou Zuizui exchanged silent glances, listening to the sound of rain hitting the window. After a while, Shen Nan asked, “Feeling better?”

“A little bit,” Zhou Zuizui replied, looking down with a smile, “You looked so good when you were confronting them just now.”

She smiled with her eyes curved, “I’ve never seen you so angry with elders before.”

In her memory, there were other people’s evaluations of Shen Nan, describing him as someone who didn’t argue with elders. He was like a robot, not getting angry or smiling much.

Today was indeed a bit of a surprise.

Shen Nan glanced at her but remained silent.

Zhou Zuizui remained silent for a while, looking at the heavy rain outside. Her mood wasn’t that great, but she was good at hiding it and didn’t want to worry others.

She had a good ability to process things on her own.

After a while, Zhou Zuizui took out her phone and looked at it, then asked Shen Nan, “Are you on vacation right now?”

“Yeah.”

“How long?”

“A while.”

He hadn’t had a break in the two years he was at the frontier, and after coming back, he went on another mission, so Shen Nan’s vacation was quite long.

Zhou Zuizui pouted and suddenly said, pointing to a nearby bar, “Captain Shen, want to have a drink?”

Shen Nan replied, “…No.”

“Come on,” Zhou Zuizui said with desire in her eyes, “I haven’t had a drink from a bar in ages.”

Shen Nan paused and looked at her sternly, “You’re in a bad mood. No drinking tonight.”

“Why?”

Zhou Zuizui asked reflexively, and then she realized why.

The last time she was in a bad mood was two years ago, and back then, she could only drink a few glasses before getting drunk.

Then—

Zhou Zuizui looked at Shen Nan’s expression and asked quietly, “Are you worried that if I get drunk again, I might end up sleeping with you?”

Author’s Note:

Shen Nan: Give me a break!

Zhou Zuizui: No! I was the one sleeping with you, not the other way around!

Shen Nan: Almost there!
