His Romance
His Romance Chapter 3.2

Once out of sight of the group, Zhou Zuizui quickly walked down the corridor on the second floor, heading toward the back.

The design of the tavern was quite unique, with a leisure courtyard in the middle that was open to the sky. The lower floor was purely for the customers to sit, while the front of the second floor was where the alcohol was stored. Further back, a small door led to where Zhou Zuizui lived. Qiuqiu lived across from Zhou Zuizui in the same building.

The plants in the backyard were quite lush, and behind the entire house was a small, abandoned alley that rarely saw any visitors.

Zhou Zuizui walked briskly, quickly returning to her room.

The door to her room was open. She walked straight in and immediately saw the man sitting upright inside.

Upon hearing the sound, Shen Nan looked over at her, and the two silently exchanged glances. Zhou Zuizui then casually closed the door behind her.

The room fell into silence.

She leaned against the door and took a deep breath.

That was close.

If her psychological resilience hadn’t been strong enough, she might have given herself away under the pressure of those gazes.

Even now, her legs felt a bit weak.

Suddenly, a transparent glass appeared in front of her. Shen Nan, looking down at her, said, “Drink this water and calm down.”

Zhou Zuizui pressed her lips together, took the glass, and drank the water before looking up at him. His hair was still wet, just like earlier, but the difference was that now, there was no trace of laziness or flirtation in his eyes. He seemed calm and composed.

As soon as she finished drinking, Shen Nan took the empty glass back, looked at her intently, and asked in a low voice, “Are you okay?”

Zhou Zuizui pressed her lips together and nodded, then found a chair to sit on. She looked around the room, noticing no major changes, except for the presence of an additional bag.

She glanced up at the man standing straight in front of her and couldn’t handle the pressure he exuded. “Could you sit down? It’s too intimidating with you standing there.”

Shen Nan glanced at her, his Adam’s apple bobbing, and obediently sat down.

“How did you get in here?” she asked.

Shen Nan succinctly replied, “From the back.”

Zhou Zuizui was at a loss for words. “I see. Being in the military sure is impressive. Climbing up to the second floor like it’s nothing.”

“How did you know my room was here?” she continued, not bothering to ask how he opened the door. She knew Shen Nan was skilled in that area… When they first met, Shen Nan had escorted her home once, and when she realized she hadn’t brought her key, he had opened her door right in front of her.

Shen Nan paused slightly, his deep eyes locked on hers, and explained, “There were clothes hanging by the door.”

Zhou Zuizui fell silent, recalling the two dresses hanging by the door.

She was about to say something else when Shen Nan’s eyes flashed, and he suddenly stood up from the chair. Then, with a swift movement, he pulled her by the waist, and before she knew it, Zhou Zuizui was once again pressed down onto the bed by Shen Nan!!!

In an instant, she stared wide-eyed at the man in front of her, his face so close that she was mentally cursing.

“You…” she started.

Before she could finish, Shen Nan pulled the blanket over both of them, creating an ambiguous scene.

He looked at the person beneath him, leaned closer, and whispered, “Someone’s coming…”

Under the blanket, it was pitch black, with only a tiny bit of light filtering in from above, enough for Zhou Zuizui to make out the man’s sharp features, deep eyes, and furrowed brow as he seemed to be listening for any sounds outside. Their bodies were pressed tightly together, and while she initially felt tense… suddenly, a certain image popped into her mind.

Instantly, her face turned red, and her body, trapped under the blanket, involuntarily shifted.

As soon as she moved, Shen Nan pinned her legs down, his breath ragged as he whispered in her ear, gritting his teeth, “Don’t move.”

Zhou Zuizui blinked, looking at Shen Nan’s deep eyes, and her mind suddenly conjured a mischievous idea. She wasn’t an innocent girl, and she could tell what kind of reaction Shen Nan was having.

Under Shen Nan’s warning gaze, Zhou Zuizui unexpectedly slipped her hand out from under the blanket, hooked it around his neck, and in a sweet, sultry voice, whispered, “Husband…”

Shen Nan froze, his body stiffening at the sound of her coquettish tone, his Adam’s apple bobbing as his eyes darkened.

Zhou Zuizui wasn’t afraid of him at all. She wriggled her body slightly under the blanket and deliberately made a suggestive sound, “Be gentle… Mm…”

She pinched his shoulder lightly and whispered in his ear, “Come on, play along with me.”

Shen Nan let out a low grunt, reluctantly replying, “I can’t be gentle…”

His eyes were dark as he pressed his lips to her neck in a mock kiss, his voice hoarse with a hint of possessiveness, “It’s been so long since I disciplined you… Missed me, huh?”

The words were incredibly provocative.

Zhou Zuizui’s face flushed bright red.

Shen Nan’s intense gaze remained fixed on her flushed cheeks, his eyes flickering before he awkwardly looked away, silently reciting Buddhist scriptures in his mind…

Ten minutes later, Shen Nan threw off the blanket, his expression calm as he got out of bed, seemingly unaffected.

Of course—

If his ears weren’t red, one might really think he hadn’t felt anything at all.

Zhou Zuizui wasn’t unaffected either; she wasn’t dead, after all. Besides, this man was her husband. Although they’d only done it once, the memory was vivid… just like Xia Wen had said, one time could be remembered for two years.

Ahem…

She looked up at the stern-faced man, suddenly feeling the urge to tease him.

Zhou Zuizui giggled, then pointedly said, “Captain Shen, your ears are red.”

Then, she daringly added, her gaze drifting downward, “Did you just…?” She grinned, staring at him with a playful glint in her eyes. “Get hard?”
