Jiang Ning drove a truck, and Huo Yishen drove an off-road vehicle. As soon as they left the base, they found that they were being followed.
The two didn’t panic; instead, they used their walkie talkie to communicate and then split into two different directions.
Gousheng was dumbfounded and quickly ordered, “Separate and chase them. Don’t let them get away.”
Whether it was the truck or the off-road vehicle, despite their dirty appearances, they both performed exceptionally well.
Wearing a bulletproof vest and a helmet, Jiang Ning started speeding, leaving the pursuers far behind as if she was playing with children.
After passing through a concealed mountain hollow, both her and the vehicle entered the space.
The Tornado team stepped on the accelerator, drove a broken car to catch up, and was immediately dumbfounded.
Where did the truck go?
Before they could even process what happened, a loud bang startled everyone, and they hurriedly took cover.
They later discovered that the car had a flat tire.
Damn, they were scared to death!
With no trace left, they had no choice but to turn around and return in frustration.
When Jiang Ning arrived at the foot of Dongqiao Mountain, Huo Yishen and the two were already waiting. “Are you okay?”
“Just a bunch of rabble.”
Those who can enter the military base may be physically fit, but this group is just a bunch of swindlers. Their early enthusiasm has long been worn down by natural disasters or life, and they now make a living by deceiving newcomers. If they really faced danger, they’d probably run faster than anyone else.
“What about you?” Jiang Ning asked, “Are you in danger?”
“No, we got rid of them.” The off-road vehicle has good performance and he quickly got rid of them.
However, Huo Yishen frowned. “This group of people is probably not easy to deal with. It’s not so easy to get away if we are targeted. They may set an ambush on the way back. We have to be careful.”
Jiang Ning thought the same. “We’ll take it step by step.”
She doesn’t seek out trouble, but if it comes to her, don’t blame her for being rude.
The three of them and the dog didn’t wander around. They confirmed that no one was around, then took out the RV and did everything—eating, drinking, and other necessities—inside the vehicle.
Doudou watched cartoons with Coke, Huo Yishen was concentrating on keeping watch, and Jiang Ning seemed to be sleeping in the room, but she actually went into the space to load the rare metals.
She loaded enough for two large trucks but left 30% behind for emergencies. After loading the car, she covered it with canvas.
This will be used to exchange for submarines, so there must be no accidents. If there is a robbery on the road, the canvas would help conceal everything and allow her to move it into the space if necessary.
After camping at Dongqiao Mountain for two days, and estimating the timing, they planned to return to the base with the cargo.
Although they didn’t regard the Tornado Team as a threat, they remained vigilant and decided to take a detour first.
After disguising themselves so well that even their own fathers wouldn’t recognize them, they drove the old vehicle back to the base and found signs of trouble—there was an ambush on the route they needed to take.
However, the disguised three people and the dog in their seemingly falling-apart vehicle didn’t alert the ambushers at the roadside. The ambushers found the old vehicle more of an eyesore.
There were people on both sides, a total of more than a dozen.
The ambush point was chosen very cleverly, located in a no-man’s land. Beyond it was the outer guard post of the military base, which was under surveillance.
Jiang Ning couldn’t take that risk, so they had to deal with this group.
The old broken car disappeared from the road and stopped quietly in the corner of the valley.
Huo Yishen took out his gun and installed the silencer.
In fact, Doudou could help, but Jiang Ning planned to eliminate any evidence, and taking Doudou along would be inconvenient.
The two handled their respective sides, while Doudou and the dog took a small detour to return to the road ahead. At the agreed time, they would bring the previously hidden truck over.
Each performed their duties, and Jiang Ning quietly returned to circle around behind the ambushers and successfully found a hiding spot.
When the time was up, Doudou drove the truck and slowly appeared at the other end of the road.
As expected, the ambushers on both sides of the road immediately became alert. “Brother Six, this is the truck. They are back.”
The truck was moving slowly and looked full. It was probably loaded to the brim again.
As long as they could capture it, they’d gain a lot of points, enough for everyone to squander for a few months.
Life had been getting worse; they hadn’t had a full meal in months, and all the brothers had become weak shrimps.
Thinking of the supplies that were about to be in hand, they couldn’t help but get excited and rub their hands.
Get together and get to work!
Everyone’s attention was on the truck, and they didn’t notice that the mantis was stalking the cicada, with the oriole waiting behind.
Their backs were undoubtedly exposed, and they all showed excited eyes, unaware that the god of death had come.
At the appointed time, Huo Yishen and Jiang Ning took action at the same time.
“Pfft!”
“Pfft!”
With silencers attached, the sound of the bullets was muffled.
Once Jiang Ning decided to act, she had no intention of leaving any survivors. Red flowers bloomed on the backs of their heads.
A subordinate holding binoculars noticed something was wrong. “Brother Six, the driver seems to be a young girl. She’s wearing a mask and there’s a dog with her. Something doesn’t seem right…”
Before he could finish, Ma Ziliu’s body swayed and fell on him, warm blood flowing out.
“Brother Six… Damn, there is an ambush…”
Before he could finish, he too fell to the ground.
Six or seven people fell down in an instant. The remaining people were shocked at first, and then they reacted. One of them turned around and raised his gun, but the gun fell to the ground.
Jiang Ning changed the magazine quickly and raised her hand to send him on the road to accompany the others.
The other two turned over and dodged and immediately ran away.
Jiang Ning did not give them a chance. The hand holding the gun was very steady, and the two fell one after another.
With the cover of the earth slope, she collected the bodies of several people into the space and wiped out all traces on the ground.
After quickly handling everything, she ran to the other end of the road.
Huo Yishen’s work was very meticulous, and all the bodies were gathered in a pile.
One was on the lookout while the other collected the bodies.
Doudou picked up his brother and sister-in-law, and the truck turned around again and drove to a secret place.
After making sure there were no obstacles, Jiang Ning asked the other two to go out on lookout duty and took out the two trucks loaded with rare metals.
She also threw out the bodies and took away the items that could identify them, and then poured a few buckets of acid rain on them.
The acid rain was collected in the villa area at the beginning, and the acid index was very strong. The bodies were unrecognizable after a while.
The smell was unpleasant, so she had to wear a gas mask.
After everything was taken care of, the two drove off in the truck and did not forget to pick up Doudou and Coke.
With the obstacles cleared, the road was clear and smooth.
But the three people and the dog remained vigilant until they entered the surveillance range of the military base.
Despite being low-key, there were many scavengers at the base. The two fully loaded trucks entering the trading center drew a lot of attention, with countless eyes watching, both openly and secretly.
No matter how envious or jealous they were, who would dare to cause trouble at the military base?
The military was known for executing people who dared to act recklessly, and they had already executed quite a few. Otherwise, there would be no peace today.

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
