Huo Yishen remained silent, his fingers interlocked tightly with hers, and the affection in his eyes was as deep as the sea.
Jiang Ning glanced at him. “How many years has it been for us?” He was becoming more clingy with each passing day.
“No matter how many years, my feelings for you will only grow stronger.”
It was just love before, but now there is also an inseparable family relationship, and it feels like it was never enough.
With everything checked and confirmed, the two began discussing the issue of going outside.
The underwater vortex didn’t exist indefinitely. Its formation requires special conditions, and it will not last very long.
The three of them and the dog had been eating and sleeping in the space for nearly ten hours, and even the strongest underwater vortex would have disappeared by now.
However, for safety reasons, it is better not to use the submarine and take the escape pod to explore the situation first.
So, the three of them and the dog entered the escape pod.
With a “whoosh,” they emerged into the ocean.
Doudou’s eyes almost popped out.
With the help of buoyancy, the escape pod continued to rise, and the underwater vortex had long vanished.
Before long, the escape pod floated to the surface, revealing a calm sea with bright and warm sunlight.
All the horrors before appeared to be nothing but illusions.
With Jiang Ning’s secret out, Doudou became much more lively, and took a binocular to observe the surroundings.
The sea stretched endlessly, shimmering everywhere like dazzling stars.
After several rounds of observation, they didn’t spot any monsters or other ships. Jiang Ning took out the yacht, and they resumed to relax and play music.
Sun protection clothes, beach chairs, and even Coke was wearing sunglasses to sunbathe—he looked like he didn’t like anyone.
They enjoyed delicious food while soaking up the sun and drifting with the waves.
Huo Yishen held the binoculars. “There’s a submarine.”
Everyone instantly focused, they quickly abandoned their beach chairs and juice. Their eyes are glued to their own binoculars.
A breathing tube appeared on the surfaced.
This is not an ordinary breathing tube; it was much shorter and thinner than those typically equipped on submarines.
Jiang Ning subconsciously thought of those monsters they just encountered.
Sailing towards 12 o’clock, the speed was particularly slow, and the breathing tube floated up and down.
Anyone who has driven a submarine knows that this situation is not right, it looked as if it will fall apart at any time, and there must be a major malfunction.
If she wasn’t mistaken, it seemed to have been damaged by the underwater black hole and was now just barely hanging on.
From the looks of it, they likely hadn’t noticed the yacht’s presence yet.
Just as Jiang Ning was worried about not being able to find these monsters, she unexpectedly stumbled upon them herself.
The monster’s twisted mindset guaranteed that they wouldn’t shed a tear even upon seeing a coffin.
Unless all of them died in battle, they would haunt Jiang Ning like ghosts.
Although they had won this battle, who knew when they might suddenly reappear?
Jiang Ning doesn’t have the patience to be on guard all the time, and the best way is to annihilate all of them.
Now was the perfect opportunity to capture them for intense interrogation, find the monster’s headquarters, and send them to hell.
However, Huo Yishen quickly disagreed, “They won’t confess.”
These group of monsters were not ordinary survivors; their relentless pursuit indicated that they were fervent militarists.
They had long been brainwashed.
They wouldn’t submit to torture or threats.
Huo Yishen suggested, “Let’s follow them from a distance. We can always find their base and then figure out how to eliminate them.”
When it comes to dealing with extremely vicious criminals, Huo Yishen has the most experience.
So, Jiang Ning changed their equipment again.
The yacht transformed into a submarine, quietly diving to the bottom of the sea, not too far behind those monsters.
The underwater vortex was so powerful that the proud combine submarines were rolled up and the surviving monsters had to flee in embarrassment.
However, the frequent malfunctions of the vehicle meant they were moving slower than ghosts.
“Beast!”
The monsters inside roared in despair, pounding the ground with their hands and crying like crazy.
Seven combine submarines, one of which was smashed by the enemy, and the rest were sucked into the black hole on the seabed.
All of them were torn apart.
These were the empire’s fighting forces!
Damn it, it was all done by those group with mysterious power.
No! They had to survive and report this news.
As long as they could seize the mysterious powers, rebuilding the empire would be just around the corner.
By then, the empire will be the world’s dominant power and will trample everyone under its feet.
Trapped in the broken vehicle, they envisioned a beautiful future, not knowing that a huge black shadow was approaching. Suddenly, it crashed down on them heavily…
The disparity in strength was evident; the broken vehicle was flung out of the water and then slammed back down heavily.
Jiang Ning in the distance was dumbfounded. She didn’t expect Lan Lan to suddenly come out to cause trouble.
Sigh, she was just fishing.
Lan Lan, who was usually docile, burst into madness at this time, revealing a fierce demonic face, it treats the monster’s vehicle like a ragdoll to be kicked around.
It crashed relentlessly.
It slammed hard.
Endless roars echoed as it vented its pent-up hatred.
Lan Lan had a vivid memory that it was this broken thing that killed her child.
The vehicle was violently dismantled into scrap metal. The monsters were thrown out and scrambled frantically towards the surface…
However, Lan Lan’s roar attracted other marine predators —sharks.
Upon seeing the food, the sharks wasted no time and swam over.
You bite an arm, I’ll gnaw on a leg; even the gaps between their teeth weren’t enough, and some of the more vicious ones would even start fighting each other.
As the blood continued to spread, those monsters were consumed.
Lan Lan noticed its scratching post and swam over without hesitation while nudging it with its head…
Jiang Ning, who couldn’t express her anger, “…”
Lan Lan is the queen of the ocean. What can she do?
It was avenging its child; how could she muster her temper for that?
But the tricky part was that Jiang Ning had become blind to their whereabouts; in this vast ocean, where could she find the monster’s nest?
Those monsters could persist for so long; it is definitely not an accidental discovery but rather a result of meticulous planning.
In other words, even if this time they failed, there would certainly be a next time.
They could find Jiang Ning, but Jiang Ning could only grope around blindly.
This wasn’t Jiang Ning’s character; she wouldn’t allow an unknown threat to linger.
But now the only clue had been destroyed by Lan Lan.
Jiang Ning wasn’t the type to sit and wait for death, she had to take her chance.
She discussed with Huo Yishen and continued to move forward in the direction of the vehicle. Maybe there will be new discoveries.
The submarine started and sailed in the ocean.
Lan Lan did not leave but followed slowly.
Without advanced detection equipment, the submarine would surface every so often to survey the conditions above.
The area where the monsters made their nest wouldn’t have overly complicated terrain or currents.
Lan Lan followed and it floated to the surface as well, it approached them slowly.
It remembered Jiang Ning and Huo Yishen’s kindness when they “drew the spear”. It was no longer as manic and angry as before. It swam around the submarine and even sprayed water into the air to show goodwill.
The other party was in a good mood, and Jiang Ning waved and said hello to it.
The dog doesn’t want to be outdone. “Woof.”
Lan Lan swam forward, and when it saw that the submarine was not catching up, it turned around and swam back while making a sound with its mouth.
The decibel level was too high, much more powerful than a lion’s roar, which caused three of them and the dog to quickly cover their ears.
After Lan Lan repeated this several times, Jiang Ning thought, “Is Lan Lan trying to tell us to follow it?”

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
