Lan Lan’s behavior left Huo Yishen feeling doubtful. “Perhaps.”
Lan Lan is the queen of the ocean, and she should be very familiar with this sea area.
Also, the blue whales are not only smart but also have a good memory.
Especially this particular whale, which holds grudges; it likely sought out those monsters for revenge after being injured last time.
Not only was it avenging its child, but it also remembered the vehicle that attacked it; otherwise, it wouldn’t have wrecked the monster’s vehicle.
But capturing a blue whale isn’t something a few monsters can accomplish.
Therefore, Lan Lan’s revenge is just the beginning.
Sure enough, when the submarine caught up, Lan Lan stopped looking back and slowly moved forward.
Jiang Ning didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “Does it count as an alliance if it came to us after seeing us fight the monsters yesterday?”
Huo Yishen thought, “If Lan Lan can really find the monster’s nest, it would undoubtedly be an alliance.”
Marine life is truly fascinating.
So, 2688 followed Lan Lan all the way, and several hours passed.
Jiang Ning noticed that the ocean current had changed.
Perhaps because of the special terrain of the seabed, the water flow speed gradually slowed down.
Not long after, the submarine issued an early warning that the depth of the seabed was becoming shallower and there was a risk of running aground.
No wonder the water flow slowed down; it turned out that there was a mountain on the seabed that changed the direction of the ocean current.
Lan Lan surfaced to breathe and was unwilling to move forward.
Have they arrived?
Jiang Ning and others observed the seabed but didn’t spot any of the monsters’ vehicle or signs of any long-term activity.
She activated the periscope and quietly observed the situation on the sea surface.
The footage quickly appeared, and the two carefully examined the captured footages of the sea surface.
Jiang Ning saw a black spot in the distance of the sea, and through continuous zooming, she found that it was a large transport ship.
There were actually two fishing boats near the transport ship.
One of the fishing boats were not particularly large, but there were terrifying creatures on board.
Monsters covered in warts wielding weapons.
Is this the monster’s nest, or had they resorted to their old tricks of hijacking the transport ship?
“Sister-in-law, that’s a ship from our country.” Doudou said shockingly, pointing to the markings on the transport ship.
Jiang Ning zoomed in and saw it.
No wonder Lan Lan stopped; it turned out they encountered the monsters in the act again.
After adjusting the parameters and aiming at the target, the periscope sent back the clearest footage.
There were people on the transport ship, and they had Oriental faces, but they were all skinny.
The hideous monsters held weapons and drove everyone to the deck and it look like they are cursing them loudly.
Someone stepped forward and spoke, as if he wanted to negotiate with the monsters but was beaten and kicked by them.
The faces of the perpetrators were hideous and distorted, like evil spirits crawling out of hell.
Huo Yishen stared intently at the screen, his expression was serious, and after a long pause, “They are our people, and they are ordinary, unarmed survivors.”
He understood lip reading and could probably know what the captives were saying.
They can get the transport ship and gather so many survivors, so they should belong to the official base.
Jiang Ning instinctively recalled Sawadee Ka’s fishing boat; after being caught by these monsters, the crew either became a meal or were used as pawns to rob other ships, ultimately meeting a tragic end.
For a moment, the three of them and the dog fell silent.
The submarine suddenly shook gently.
It was Lan Lan again.
Jiang Ning thought for a while, “How many monsters are there?”
Huo Yishen had an incredible memory. “From the footage, there are a total of 23 people on the two fishing boats and the transport ship. It’s estimated that there are more that weren’t captured in the footage, so roughly, there should be around 50 in total.”
Fifty monsters were able to hijack a transport ship?
Perhaps this was the cruel reality of survival.
Jiang Ning’s expression turned serious. “How many people are on the transport ship?”
The transport ship is quite large, and it is no problem to fully load two or three thousand people, but the collision of plates has caused countless disasters, and the number of people is constantly decreasing.
Huo Yishen was silent for a moment, “There should be a few hundred people.”
Hundreds of people? Once they are pulled to the nest of those monsters, their fate can be imagined.
They must have realized the danger as well, which was why the ship was moving so slowly, likely searching for a chance to save themselves.
Jiang Ning turned off the periscope, “What do you think? Should we take them all out at once or attack them separately?”
Huo Yishen thought for a while, “If we let them go back to their nest, not only will their power grow, but they may also threaten us with the people on the transport ship.”
Even in the face of natural disasters and the end of the world, where the land had sunk, there was still a sense of belonging. The conflicts within the country should be resolved behind closed doors.
When disaster comes from the outside, if given a choice, there’s no need to sacrifice one’s own kin.
Besides surviving until now had not been easy for anyone.
Jiang Ning thought of many people: He Tianming, Ma Guangnian, Professor Li, Gu Tinglin, and the various bases across the country.
Countless people paid with their lives or blood, and they tried their best to keep the survivors alive.
After coming this far, were they to be devoured by monsters?
No matter how cold Jiang Ning is, she can’t just stand by and watch when it comes to this kind of conflict.
“The sun is about to set,” Jiang Ning looked at the observation window, “Shall we wait until it’s dark before taking actions?”
Huo Yishen began formulating a battle plan.
Jiang Ning took out weapons from the space: explosives, fuel bombs, submachine guns, etc.
Doudou continued to observe. “Brother, sister-in-law, they aren’t leaving.”
Are they planning to spend the night at sea? It seems like they are still quite far away from their nest.
The sunset fell and it got dark quickly.
Except for the whistling sea breeze, visibility was almost nonexistent.
2688 quietly surfaced, and Jiang Ning took out two diving suits.
Doudou was eager to participate in the battle and looked at it eagerly.
“You guard the submarine and protect Coke,” Huo Yishen comforted her, “This difficult task, Anning and I will leave it to you, can you do it?”
Doudou was a little disappointed, but thinking that guarding the house was equally important, “Brother and sister-in-law, I promise to complete the task!”
The hatch opened, and Huo Yishen and Jiang Ning quietly entered the sea.
There are dangers at the bottom of the sea at any time. The two swam hand in hand towards the fishing boat. If they encountered any dangerous marine life, they could flash into the space in time.
Fortunately, it was quite smooth along the way.
These monsters were used to living in the ocean, and even when sleeping, they were extremely vigilant. They leaved half of their people to guard.
It was just that the sea breeze was quite strong at night, and the fishing boat swayed with the waves, lulling the monsters into a drowsy state.
Jiang Ning quietly emerged from the water and reached out to the fishing boat.
The fishing boat was put into the space; whether they were sleeping soundly or being distracted while on guard, they were all kicked out by the space in an instant.
Plop, plop, the book monsters fell into the sea one after another.
“Damn…”
As soon as one of them opened its mouth, the cold seawater rushed in uncontrollably.
Ah! Help!
They struggled instinctively, and the weapons in their hands fell.
Then they realized they seemed to know how to swim.
How stupid they were.
So, they all surfaced and began shouting…

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
