Lan Lan circled around while spraying water mist into the air, and a highly penetrating, loud sound came out of her mouth.
But unlike before, the sound seemed much gentler.
Jiang Ning didn’t understand what it meant, but she could clearly sense that its mood was very different.
The sound gradually faded away, and the massive shadow disappeared at the end of the sea.
The three of them and Coke watched it leave, then sat on the submarine, basking in the sun.
Doudou, enjoying the sea breeze, rested her chin in her hand and gazed into the distance, “Brother, Sister-in-law, where are we heading now?”
Where to? Jiang Ning didn’t have an answer.
They had been in the sea for quite some time, and they met all kinds of survivors along the way, but many had perished or scattered. The path home remained unclear, with no direction in sight.
The only thing they knew for sure was that they wanted solid ground beneath their feet.
Faced with uncertainty, Huo Yishen couldn’t make up his mind for the moment, “Let’s leave this area first, and figure things out as we go.”
After drifting in the sea for so long, they had gained considerable survival experience.
The sea currents in this area were complex. Whenever the weather changed drastically, severe disasters were likely to happen. Many survivors had already been taken by the ocean here.
It was best to leave this area and decide their next move once they reached calmer waters.
Everyone agreed, so they set sail immediately.
After several days of wandering, they finally made it out of the complex sea area after three days.
Living underwater for a long time had suddenly led to psychological problems for most people.
But after Doudou learned about the space, Jiang Ning no longer hid it. Unless there were special circumstances, they would go into the space to rest for half an hour every day.
Stepping on the grass, picking fruits and vegetables, or taking care of the medicinal fields.
The three of them and Coke lived a relaxed and comfortable life. Even if they returned to the submarine to spend the night, they would laugh from time to time.
When the weather was clear, they would use the periscope to check the surface, and only if everything looked fine would they come up to rest.
They’d put up a sun umbrella, set up a platform, and have afternoon tea in the sea breeze.
Lying on a beach chair, Doudou was eating lemon chicken when her eyes were suddenly drawn to the sky, “Brother, Sister-in-law, what’s that?”
A huge airship floated in the sky.
In Jiang Ning’s memory, the huge airship was a product of World War II, but she didn’t expect that it would be used again.
Huo Yishen explained to his sister, “It’s called a Zeppelin airship. It’s filled with hydrogen, and can carry hundreds of people.”
Doudou was extremely surprised, “Will it fall?”
“It can stay in the air for a long time, but if it encounters a fire or leaks, it will be very dangerous.”
At this point, with natural disasters everywhere, no escape tool was absolutely safe. How long you survived depended entirely on luck.
They all occasionally glanced at the sky, watching the Zeppelin airship slowly drift away like a crawling turtle.
After admiring the sunset, they returned to the submarine and continued their journey.
The world was vast, and time passed slowly.
The three of them and the dog had been traveling underwater for a month. Thanks to their occasional breaks in the space and enjoying good food and drink with games of cards, the days passed somewhat uneventfully, and there were no major issues with their mental health.
On this day, Jiang Ning was taking a nap when 2688 detected obstacles ahead, and there were quite a few of them.
The shapes were strange, and they weren’t moving.
It wasn’t a submarine reef, nor marine life.
Jiang Ning stared at the image for a long time and frowned, “It seems to be a container.”
And they weren’t ordinary containers—these were much larger.
Huo Yishen was wondered, “Could it be a fire seed box?”
The southern military base had produced many fire seed boxes. Perhaps a submarine had been to this place and encountered an unstoppable storm, damaged their submarine and caused the fire seed box to sink to the bottom of the sea.
From its appearance, it does look like a fire seed box.
But the number of containers seemed excessive. The overlapping images suggested there were far more than just three or five.
At this moment, the sea was calm and clear at this time.
2688 moved forward slowly, trying to get a clearer view of what these obstacles actually were.
As the view drew closer, Jiang Ning used the binoculars and confirmed that they were containers, but their size was about half of a fire seed box, and there were around a dozen of them.
They were clearly giant shipping containers.
Most likely, a cargo ship passing through encountered a storm while passing by, causing the container to fall into the sea.
The size is too large; it should have been built after the natural disaster.
Ordinary survivors wouldn’t have the means to produce such things; they must have been made by a national-level base.
Jiang Ning thought about the 21 trucks they had stored in their space. These containers were likely filled with important supplies as well.
Seeing her in deep thought, Huo Yishen asked, “Should we salvage it?”
It happened that the weather was good, with no wind and waves. The seabed wasn’t particularly complex, and there were no dangerous marine creatures around.
Staring at the containers resting on the seabed, Jiang Ning couldn’t help but think of Gu Tinglin, Zhang Chao, and Lu Yu and Zheng Weili.
The four of them had become much more confident after being recruited by the navy submarine team, their words and deeds were full of pride.
She wondered how they were doing now.
Jiang Ning thought for a moment, “Why not give it a try.”
Anyway, there wasn’t much else to do, and there might be some useful materials inside.
If these containers had been brought along during an evacuation, the contents were probably extremely important.
As soon as they decided, the submarine surfaced.
After ensuring there were no hidden dangers, they left Doudou and Coke to watch over things, while Jiang Ning and Huo Yishen put on diving suits, strapped on portable oxygen tanks, and adjusted their enclosed diving masks.
They secured their safety ropes and dove into the sea, swimming toward the scattered containers.
The depth of about 200 meters wasn’t too much for the submarine, but it was a challenge for the human body.
Fortunately, the all of them had been eating well and exercising intensively, so they were in good physical condition.
As Jiang Ning dove deeper, Huo Yishen kept watch.
Their equipment was top-grade, but once they reached around 200 meters, their breathing had become noticeably hard.
It wasn’t safe to stay underwater for too long, so Jiang Ning decided to simply store the containers in their space without checking the contents first.
The containers were too large, and their space was already crowded. After collecting just about ten of them, it got blocked up.
The two of them retreated into the space, where Jiang Ning, taking on the role of a cleanup master, stacked the containers on top of each other and organized the trucks.
Once they had recovered, the two came out again and quickly collected the remaining containers into the space.
This sea area is vast, and the two swam around nearby, collecting five more containers one after another. After confirming there were no more, they resurfaced.
Doudou help and quickly pulled the two up.
After returning to the submarine, the two changed clothes, took showers, ate something to replenish their energy, and then entered the space.
There was a total of 19 containers, neatly stacked in the space.
Because the containers had been in the sea for a long time, the outside of the container was covered with silt and mud, and the previous color could no longer be recognised.
Doudou took water and a broom and diligently cleaned the mud off it.
The container is very special, different from ordinary materials, but relatively inferior to the fire seed box. It should also be specially made for storing supplies.
The container doors were well-sealed, and since no water had leaked inside, the contents were likely still intact.
Half an hour later, Doudou shouted in surprise, “Brother, Sister-in-law, there are markings here!”
On the front of the container, the words “Eastern Military Base of Huaxia, No. 0092” were clearly engraved.

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
