The Beginning of Natural Disaster, I Won by Hoarding Tens of Billions of Supplies | Chapter 474: Did Coke Experience a Mental Breakdown?

The water cooled very quickly and froze after a while.

They kept pouring until it was about 20 cm thick before stopping.

Returning to the ground, they continued to pour water on the other sides of the container.

They couldn’t splash the entrance with water, but it needs some special adjustments.

By the time all this work was done, it was too late, so the rest had to wait until the next day.

Stepping on the floor, it was still freezing cold, making it impossible to sleep directly on it.

Luckily, at the southern military base, Jiang Ning had stockpiled several dozen tons of coal using her points, which now came in handy.

The coal not only generated a lot of heat but also burned for a long time. With ventilation at the top, there was no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

After lighting two coal stoves, the house quickly warmed up.

Jiang Ning brought out some solid wooden furniture, including tables, chairs, benches, sofas from the space and took out two beds. She specially picked thick mattresses and did not forget to put electric blankets on them.

Worried that the dog couldn’t handle the cold, she set up its bed on the sofa and connected an electric blanket to the power box.

Coke lay down contentedly, its ears sticking out like a planes, and wagged its tail energetically to show it was pleased.

With temperature-regulated clothing and soft, warm blankets, this was the most comfortable night all of them had experienced since entering the Arctic.

In winter, people tend to sleep in, and by the time they woke up, it was nearly 10 o’clock.

Despite the freezing weather, a large bowl of pork offal noodles left them slightly sweaty.

After a hearty meal, they continued working. Doudou took Coke to a snowy hill to stand guard, while Jiang Ning and Huo Yishen measured the house dimensions and laid down some wooden boards from the space.

After cutting and trimming, it took half a day to finished the floor.

In the afternoon, they continued to work and used color-coated steel panels to divide the room and the living room. This not only helped retain heat but also provided privacy.

There were a lot of tedious tasks, and it took four to five days to fully complete the setup of their new home

With the stoves running all day, they were able to maintain the indoor temperature consistently.

The weather in the Arctic was cold, and the charcoal stove was particularly dry. Jiang Ning took out the air humidifier, selected an essential oil that everyone liked, and added it in. White mist kept coming out of the humidifier, with a fresh and quiet fragrance.

With no outsiders around, Jiang Ning even set up a simple bookshelf, desk lamp, and vase in the living room.

She also picked some gardenias from her space and their fragrance was refreshing and delightful.

And she even decorated the sofa with throw pillows and plush toys

Doudou and Coke liked the toys very much. They sat on the sofa and fought over the toys. The laughter floated out of the house and drifted away with the wind and snow.

Their new home isn’t big, but it’s really cozy.

Jiang Ning took a few photos and brought out a long-unused printer from her space. She printed several memorable photos from the past few years and hung them on an artistic string in the living room corner, giving it a very artistic feel.

Over the next few days, Coke seemed to adapt to the cold. It often lured Doudou outside to run around.

With its four legs, Coke ran swiftly, while Doudou chased it through the knee-high snow, struggling to catch up. “Coke, wait for me!”

Just as Doudou was about to catch up, the sneaky Coke burrowed itself into the snow and hid itself.

Doudou was afraid that Coke might suffocate, so she chased it, and stretched out her hands to dig in the snow.

While Doudou was digging, the dog suddenly jumped out from the side, knocked Doudou into the snow, and they both started playfully messing around.

Jiang Ning couldn’t help but feel a little jealous; that’s definitely the age for being full of energy!

Over the years, she has become increasingly silent, and though her body’s not old, but her heart feels worn out.

Suddenly, Coke ran over, grabbed her pants leg with its teeth, and tugged her outside. “Woof!”

Jiang Ning, caught off guard, got dragged into the snowstorm and ended up squatting to make a snowman.

Even Huo Yishen eventually joined in.

They built three people and a dog, but to their surprise, none of them had any artistic talent, and what they ended up with looked nothing like what they intended.

The mischievous dog messed around and ended up breaking Jiang Ning’s snowman’s hand.

Jiang Ning decided to just let loose for a change, she grabbed some boiling water from her space and tossed it to watch it freeze into ice.

Holding a spoonful of boiling water, she tossed it into the air, and it curved into an arc.

Huo Yishen tried to take photos, but his stiff movements and clumsy angles caused him to repeatedly fail to capture a decent shot.

Sigh, guess all men are the same.

Doudou, on the other hand, had a natural talent. After a few tries, she managed to take pictures that looked like professional artistic shots.

At first, everything felt exciting. They spent their days sleeping in, playing in the snow, sitting around the stove, occasionally roasting sweet potatoes or taro, or playing cards.

On the ninth day of their arrival, the snowstorm that had lasted for days finally stopped.

Everywhere was covered in a blanket of white snow, with not a single trace of the landscape visible to the eye.

The container house was covered in ice on the outside, and from far away, it was hard to tell what it really was.

Doudou was bored and started to try to grow vegetables again.

But Jiang Ning only gave seeds, she was unwilling to take out the poultry eggs.

The young girl is quite talented, but if she were to hatch and raise them, the whole house would stink.

As Doudou worked with the soil, the dog suddenly stood up.

It had a scary look, and its fur stood up all over its body.

Then, it rushed out as fast as lightning.

Jiang Ning jumped, then realized what was happening and ran out, “Coke!”

By the time she reached outside, Coke had already disappeared on the other side of the snowy hill.

What’s going on?

If the dog detects enemy movements, it will give an early warning, rather than suddenly running away.

The three of them climbed the snow hill, but all they found was a trail of footprints leading off into the distance.

Jiang Ning took out her binoculars and searched for a long time before finding the direction where the dog disappeared.

It was running fast and hadn’t looked back.

Huo Yishen looked around but found nothing unusual.

Could it be that Coke was fed up with the Arctic and had a sudden mental breakdown?

But Coke had been in good condition over the past few days.

Huo Yishen made a decision. “Doudou, stay here and keep watch. We’ll go after Coke.”

With the endless snow and ice, if it didn’t return or encountered danger, what would they do?

Jiang Ning handed Doudou a weapon before hurriedly heading in the direction Coke had disappeared.

The snow stopped, but the wind was still blowing, blowing snowflakes all over the ground.

Before long, Coke’s footprints were buried.

Without any landmarks, it’s pretty easy to get lost.

Jiang Ning relied on her memory, but the snow was knee-deep, making every step exhausting.

The biting wind also stung her face even through a mask. She was out of breath after a while.

After walking for a bit, she felt like they were still heading the wrong way.

She looked through the binoculars but there was no sign of anything.

Frustrated and worried, Jiang Ning muttered to herself, “After taking care of it for so long, once I find it, I’m going to give it a good scolding.”

For more than an hour, the two of them were so tired that they couldn’t even lift their knees in the snow.

Suddenly, Huo Yishen kept looking around and exclaimed, “Over there!”

In the distance, something was moving.

Jiang Ning stared at it for a long time. There was indeed a brown thing moving, and it was heading toward them.

The two of them did not dare to delay and quickened their pace.

As they got closer, they confirmed it was Coke, racing back toward them.

This dog! It still knows how to come back, huh?

Jiang Ning was furious and pulled out a vine from the space, intending to beat it.

The snow covered half of its body, but the four-legged beast’s speed was different—it was much faster than them.

Oh, and now it was wagging its tail?

Not even the heavens will protect it. Today, I’m going to beat teach it as lesson.

Jiang Ning raised the vine, ready to strike, when she noticed blood on Coke’s mouth.

Not only were the corners of its mouth injured, but also its legs and back.

Jiang Ning was shocked.

Who did this?

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
