Coke would go over to accompany Bai Xue and play in front of the stove.
After a few days, Bai Xue began to react to her name, especially during mealtime. As soon as Jiang Ning called, she would come over.
Probably because she was afraid of being hungry, Bai Xu had a very large appetite and preferred raw meat.
The bad thing was that she was very protective of her food. Sometimes, when Coke came over, she would bare her teeth, let alone when Jiang Ning approached.
The snowstorm lasted for five days before gradually subsiding.
After being locked in for so long, with lights on all day and sleeping at night, everything just passes in a state of confusion.
Jiang Ning, fully equipped, opened the door to step outside for some fresh air.
Coke and Bai Xue ran back and played wildly in the snow.
Seeing that the scumbag dog used his head to hit Bai Xue’s belly, Jiang Ning quickly scolded, “Your wife is pregnant, you can’t play too much. Be careful.”
However, Bai Xue was wild by nature.
The dog tried to maintain a cold attitude but couldn’t resist the little wolf’s charm, running and rolling around in the snow.
What could Jiang Ning say? It seemed Bai Xue, being raised without a mother, had completely let go even during pregnancy and didn’t understand much.
Huo Yishen knew a little more about animals than she did. “Bai Xue should have just reached adulthood.”
Uh, the dog is an old cow eating tender grass.
It was quite impressive, so charming!
After a few days of interaction, the three of them grew quite fond of Bai Xue and believed it could be tamed.
With his wife around, the dog no longer runs outside, and he often plays with her.
The happiness it experienced was entirely different from the company of the poop scooper.
Jiang Ning sat on the snowy hill and looked at the dog playing happily in the snow and couldn’t help but feel a sense of contentment.
After playing for a while, Bai Xue stared off into the distance, and her head wandered from time to time.
She wants to go far away, yet seemed reluctant to leave.
The dog grunted, nudging its head against hers.
Jiang Ning became nervous, “Does Bai Xue want to leave?”
Huo Yishen analyzed, “It grew up in the wild, so it’s natural for it to want to return to nature.”
Wolves and dogs were different by nature.
If it weren’t for the severe snowstorm, it might not be willing to step into the human territory.
Jiang Ning opened her mouth, wanting to say something but not knowing what to say.
As night fell, Bai Xue came back.
She was too thin, and she was still carrying pups.
If the mother’s nutrition wasn’t enough, the pups could easily miscarry or be deformed.
Jiang Ning paid special attention and gave chicken and pork.
Bai Xue preferred raw meat over cooked food.
After several days, she had learned a lot from the dog, continuing to show goodwill and attempting to expose her belly to Jiang Ning.
Jiang Ning, while cautious, slowly extended her hand.
Oh, she touched the wolf’s belly.
It was soft, and its fur was very warm.
Of course, wild wolves are not like domestic dogs. They stretch out their claws and show their fangs without restraint, and their strength was greater.
The dog, fearing it might hurt the poop scooper, would occasionally grunt beside her.
Jiang Ning decided to forgive the scumbag dog.
Among the three family members, Bai Xue first showed affection toward the one with the food, followed by Huo Yishen and Doudou.
It took several days of getting along before she was willing to be touched by them.
There was nothing to be done; after all, they didn’t have any meat.
After spending ten days together, Jiang Ning truly accepted Bai Xue.
She had thought about finding a wife for the dog before, but there was never an opportunity.
Now, the dog had done well on its own, bringing one back from outside.
Bai Xue is a lone wolf, but the betrothal gift still needs to be given.
The porcelain tiles used for the betrothal gifts are still in the space, Bai Xue seems to be only interested in fresh meat.
Jiang Ning had no choice but to add extra food for it.
“During the day, I will add enough food for you for a hundred days, which will be regarded as the betrothal gift. You must live a good life with Coke in the future.”
Today it’s pork belly, tomorrow it’s pig bones.
Anyway, there are still many pigs stored in the space, so there is no need to worry about a shortage.
The dog was completely dumbfounded. How come its food has gotten worse?
It wasn’t happy and protested to the poop scooper, “Woof!”
“Not happy?” Jiang Ning rolled her eyes at it. “Look at your wife’s appetite. Why bring her back if you can’t feed her? From now on, any good food will go to Bai Xue.”
The dog knew it was in the wrong and silently went back to eating.
After eating, Bai Xue took the initiative to come over for some petting.
The little thing was very smart. Once she had figured things out, she knew who was in charge, and once familiar, she started using tricks to win her affection.
At first, the dog was pleased watching it play with Jiang Ning, but gradually its expression changed.
That position used to be his.
If he hadn’t brought Bai Xue back, the dog would have pushed it away by now.
But it didn’t expect an even bigger blow to come.
The poop scooper disappeared.
She disappeared with Bai Xue.
The dog panicked and barked, “Woof!”
Huo Yishen and Doudou turned a blind eye and sat on the sofa to watch a movie.
The dog was so anxious that it kept scratching the floor…
Jiang Ning took Bai Xue into the space for a prenatal ultrasound.
After being cared for over ten days, with full meals and good nutrition, its thin body was slowly gaining weight.
As it gained weight, Bai Xue’s appearance became more and more striking.
Even Jiang Ning couldn’t stop admiring it, no wonder the dog was completely enchanted.
As long as she had meat, Bai Xue lay down obediently and let Jiang Ning use strange things to check her body.
Through the image display, Jiang Ning saw three shadows.
She would give birth in about twenty days, and from the shape, everything seemed healthy.
As soon as she came out of the space, the dog pounced on her and whined anxiously.
Oh, now he wants to compete for affection. Too late!
Jiang Ning patted its head. “Coke, Bai Xue is having triplets. You’re going to be a father soon.”
Reproduction is an animal instinct. How can the dog understand this? It only knows that there is less food in its mouth, and the poop scooper wasn’t as affectionate.
“I’ve taken care of your wife, and when the pups are born, you’ll have to take care of them yourself.”
Jiang Ning negotiated, “From today, your dog food will be cut in half. I’m saving it for the pups.”
The dog played dumb and kept acting cute to win affection.
Unexpectedly, Jiang Ning kept her word. At the next meal, not only was it just plain dog food, but the portion was pitifully small.
On the contrary, in Bai Xue’s rice bowl, there were chicken, duck, fish, and meat, more than it could possibly eat.
The hungry dog tried to go over, but Bai Xue bared her teeth, so he had to go back to his bed to lie down in defeat.
Bai Xue didn’t finish all the food, and there were two large pieces of fish left.
She left one piece for the dog and took the other piece and walked out.
Doudou was curious and followed secretly.
She saw Bai Xue digging a hole in the snow and burying the fish meat in it.
“Sister-in-law, Bai Xue hid the fish.”
Hiding things is an animal instinct. When they’re hungry, they tend to hide away the food they can’t finish.
When Jiang Ning first brought Coke back, it also often hid things.
She remembers that when they celebrated Huo Yishen’s birthday for the first time, the dog contributed half a bowl of bones that he had hidden.
Later, with good food and drink every day, it slowly got rid of the habit.
But Jiang Ning was soon slapped in the face. Bai Xue was deliberately hiding food, not because it couldn’t eat anymore, but in preparation for the pups in its belly.
Perhaps this was a maternal instinct. Even though Bai Xue had no experience, it still did it instinctively.
And as her belly grew bigger, she started being more cautious during playtime, especially when Coke was too rough, she would bare her teeth and growl.
After a few growls, the dog became obedient.

Please bear with me if I didn’t update right away 😅. I was either buried in work 💼… or buried in rereading the book 📖. (P.S. Most of the time I’m rereading it 🤭—so you know just how good the story is! 🌟)
