Meanwhile, the Elf Princess watched the screen in front of her in a daze.
The apocalyptic scene reminded her of the astrologer’s prophecy.
The screaming (song), unusual signs in the sky.
Fierce storms, lightning, and thunder…
What else was there? She forgot.
Who cares!
Anyway, everything proved it.
Zero was the superstar!
But that superstar, as the prophecy had foretold, had escaped.
And…
The man of that superstar happened to be the one she had fallen for!
“Snap!”
The Elf Princess directly closed the live streaming interface.
She stood up from her chair, stepping on bubbles, and flew to the Elf Temple. Heading straight to the astrologer’s residence.
In a small courtyard within the Elf Temple, a man who appeared quite young and handsome was eating, expressionless as he watched the screen in front of him.
He was the astrologer designated by the Elf Princess: Song Chen.
The astrologer looked at the collapsed District 39 on the screen and breathed a sigh of relief, “Thank goodness, I saved my head…”
As he spoke, he heard a voice from outside: “Her Royal Highness, the Princess, has arrived!”
Hearing this voice, Song Chen sighed and said: “This lady again, why is she here?”
He then abandoned his food and quickly pretended to kneel on the ground.
“Welcome, Your Royal…”
“Bang!”
The door was suddenly slammed open.
A petite elf rushed in.
“Song Chen! Wuwu… I want a husband too!”
Song Chen helplessly looked at the Princess before him.
In front of everyone, she would still maintain a semblance of normalcy. Although it wasn’t entirely normal, she at least looked like the Elf Princess.
But…
Once she was out of the public eye, she turned into what she was now!
“Song Chen!”
“Please help me!”
“I want a husband!”
The Elf Princess floated in the air, stepping on bubbles. Both of her hands vigorously shook Song Chen’s shoulders.
Song Chen’s head was about to be shaken off.
“Hey! Stop shaking, my lady, it’s giving me a headache!”
“Wuwu! I want a husband!”
“No, my lady, if you want a husband, go find one yourself! Why are you bothering me?” Song Chen said while shaking his head.
“I want him! I only want him! He ran away! Hurry, bring him back!” The Elf Princess shouted at the top of her lungs, her normally pleasant voice now sounding harsh.
Song Chen, while still shaking, held onto her slender arm and looked at her with a strange expression.
“Wait, who are you talking about?”
“Wuwu, it’s the husband of that superstar! I want him! He ran away!”
“What? Are you trying to be a homewrecker?”
Elf Princess: ???
Her expression changed instantly, colder than ice as she threatened, “Say that one more time, and I’ll chop your head off.”
Song Chen: “…”
“Cough, cough… I can’t help you with that.”
“If you don’t help me, you’ll lose your head,” the Elf Princess declared.
Song Chen: ???
This is… well…
Maybe this is what they mean by “accompanying the monarch is like accompanying a tiger”…
But having been by the side of the Elf Princess for so long, he naturally understood her temper. A little deception… well, a little coaxing would do the trick.
“Okay, um, even though I can’t find him for you, I can help you take a look at what your future husband might look like. How about that? Maybe he’ll be even more outstanding than him? Of course, it’s also possible that your true prince charming is him.”
After thinking it over, the Elf Princess said, “Hmm… that works! Come on then, if he’s ugly, your head will roll.”
Song Chen, without showing any signs, pursed his lips. Then he walked to the door of the inner room.
“Please wait here, Your Highness. When an astrologer is conducting a reading, no one else can be present beside him.” Song Chen stopped the Elf Princess from entering. There was no way he’d let her in; otherwise, the results might not be good, and he’d have to pack his bags and leave!
“Why are you speaking in riddles to me?” The Elf Princess complained.
Song Chen smiled and didn’t say anything.
The Elf Princess also didn’t insist and just made a casual comment.
Song Chen often spoke nonsense like this… and the Princess always teased him about it.
Afterwards, she sat down in the chair where Song Chen had been sitting earlier. She picked up the food he had left behind and started eating it.
She and Song Chen had grown up together, and their relationship was quite peculiar. They were both master and servant, and at the same time, they were like siblings.
Seeing this, Song Chen walked into the astrologer’s chamber.
He looked at the astrological sphere in front of him and couldn’t help but yawn. Then, he lazily sat down in the chair in front of the sphere.
He extended one hand and magic energy flowed into it.
The astrological sphere suddenly emitted a bright light, then quickly dimmed.
After a moment…
Song Chen furrowed his brows and looked closer.
There was nothing!
Normally, even if a prediction turned out to be inaccurate, there would still be some result. But today, there was nothing!?
Song Chen squinted and leaned in for a closer look.
The astrological sphere, although semi-transparent, seemed to have a distorted inner space when looked inside. It was impossible to see anything beyond it. One could only see their own face reflected on the surface of the sphere.
“Failed?”
No result? She couldn’t be fated to be alone!
That would be too pitiful…
Song Chen couldn’t believe it; there should be some result, normally.
So, this time, he became more serious.
He fetched some items from the storage shelves, set up a formation around the astrological sphere to enhance the power of the stars, and then poured magical energy into it once again.
But the result was the same—nothing!
“This is… beyond strange!”
“Is it done yet? Why is it so slow? What are you doing inside?” Suddenly, the Elf Princess appeared at the door from outside, urging impatiently.
Song Chen was startled, quickly coughed, and said, “Don’t come in!”
“Oh… hurry up!” The Elf Princess continued to urge from outside.
With no choice, Song Chen pretended to cast a few incantations, not even knowing what they meant, just to appease her. Then he walked out of the room.
As soon as the Princess saw him coming out, she immediately asked with anticipation, “How is it?”
Song Chen nodded solemnly and said, “Your future husband is very handsome, just like me.”
“Huh?” The Princess furrowed her brows, her expression clearly saying: Say that again?
“… Just kidding, he’s very handsome, exceptionally handsome.”
“He’s handsome and cold, but he’s gentle with you.”
“Oh wow!”
The Princess, after hearing this, happily jumped up and exclaimed, “Then it must be him!”
However, Song Chen shook his head and said, “No, it’s not him; it’s someone else.”
“What?”
Song Chen knew exactly what kind of person this young lady liked. The characteristics he mentioned earlier were just a summary of Chen Xing’s personality traits from the videos he had watched.
However, he didn’t want to be involved in ruining someone else’s relationship, and he didn’t want his little sister, the Princess, to do that either.
So, he said, “He is someone even more outstanding than that person, and he will appear in the near future. Your Highness, just wait for him.”
“Really!?” The Princess licked her lips, looking eager, almost as if she wanted to devour someone.
Seeing her reaction, Song Chen shuddered inwardly.
He thought internally: If anyone becomes her husband, it’ll be over! This tormentor of souls would drive anyone crazy.
“Do you guarantee it with your head!?” The Princess raised her head proudly.
Song Chen nodded and said, “Yes, I guarantee it.”
He had no other choice but to make a promise. If things didn’t go well, he could always run away later.
However, he had survived until now, not just because of his astrology skills but also because of… a strategy.
That’s right, when his predictions went wrong, he always managed to hit the Princess’s emotional soft spot, making it difficult for her to kill him. She would even give him gifts and comfort him. A clever way to avoid trouble.
After the Princess left, Song Chen sighed and returned to the astrologer’s chamber to continue his divination.
But strangely, no matter how many times he tried, anything related to the Princess’s future husband showed no results on the astrological sphere.
“This is so bizarre…”
“It couldn’t be that it’s really doomed!”
“But… at least today, I’m still handsome.”
Looking at his reflection on the astrological sphere, Song Chen touched his chin and said, “Really handsome!”
