I actually fell in love with my mortal enemy Chapter 10

Xu Yi pushed Yi Yu away, his face turning red as he spoke, “You can’t kiss me, I’m straight.”

Yi Yu smiled and raised an eyebrow, “Then if I kissed you, what would you do? Kiss me back?”

“Damn it, stop being a pervert. Did you bring back Li Xiaoting’s diary?”

Yi Yu pointed to the cabinet by the bed, where a metal box was placed, clearly still locked.

Xu Yi urged Yi Yu to put his clothes back on quickly, so he wouldn’t catch a cold and pass it on to him. Yi Yu’s voice was magnetic as he replied, “Alright.”

Xu Yi held the metal box and began trying the password without any particular thoughts, starting from zero: 0121, 0122… Yi Yu leaned in, and Xu Yi raised his eyes. “How about we go to her house tomorrow and see if we can find any clues?”

“I think she probably doesn’t have many friends.”

“Do as you said. I’ll go to the room next door,” Yi Yu stood up to leave.

“What are you going to the next room for? Stay here and try the password with me.”

“You said you’re afraid of catching my cold, right? I’m going to sleep in the next room.”

Xu Yi’s voice suddenly rose, “Aren’t you still not sick?”

Yi Yu ended the conversation, sitting next to Xu Yi, taking the metal box from his hands. “Tomorrow, I’ll go to her house. You and the others go find her brother.”

“No, you can’t go alone. Have you forgotten? You still want to get hurt, don’t you?”

The wind howled outside, and the room was filled with the sound of distant voices. The silence lasted for a few seconds.

“I’m not planning to go in through the front door. It’s not convenient with you here.”

Xu Yi completely didn’t want to talk anymore, turning and lying down, “Fine, you go back to your bed.”

Yi Yu took the metal box and began recalling the numbers he had seen when he visited Li Xiaoting’s room.

After a night, Yi Yu was no longer in the room. Xu Yi rubbed his eyes and looked around but couldn’t find him. There was breakfast on the table. Xu Yi brushed his teeth, biting into a steamed bun.

The door creaked open, and Li Xiaoming and Wang Qiang were looking at him. Li Xiaoming didn’t hesitate and grabbed the white steamed bun, taking a bite. “Xu Ge, today, Yi Ge asked us to meet with Li Yuan. We’re going directly to his class.”

In this world, the three of them just stayed temporarily, and once the mission was complete, they would leave and wouldn’t participate in any of the exams.

Meanwhile, Yi Yu had already arrived at Li Xiaoting’s house. Since her room was upstairs, it wasn’t an issue to climb through the window. Yi Yu quickly reached the roof and attempted to open the dusty window.

There was more noise outside.

“Can you stop drinking? Marrying you was the biggest mistake of my life.”

“You damn woman, if I didn’t spend money, you wouldn’t have been able to get out of your mountain village.”

Yi Yu ignored the noise outside. The most likely place to find numerical information in Li Xiaoting’s room was the stack of books on the shelf.

There weren’t many books, but each shelf was organized.

Textbooks were categorized by subject, but there were no books that young girls typically enjoyed reading.

Yi Yu blew off the dust on the textbooks. “Must-Do Questions,” but the name on the cover wasn’t Li Xiaoting’s. Yi Yu should have realized that none of the books on this shelf truly belonged to her.

He flipped the book open. After the phrase “Must-Do Questions,” someone had added a few words: “Keep going, keep going, keep going.”

The further he flipped, the more the words “keep going” disappeared, and starting from page 50, the pages turned blank.

There was a place that had been wiped clean. Yi Yu flipped around nearby and found a pencil.

At the back gate of the school, Li Yuan was sitting on the flower bed. Xu Yi and the others had deliberately changed out of their school uniforms.

“Do you know when your sister started changing her personality?”

Li Yuan thought for a moment. “After sophomore year, she stopped coming home.”

“It should have been around that time. So, have you found any new evidence?”

Xu Yi continued, “Did your sister have any favorite holidays?”

Li Yuan sank into his memories. “She liked winter, and some of the holidays during winter, like Christmas.”

“Christmas, I remember now. My sister always liked celebrating Christmas, saying that the dreams she had on Christmas were always sweet.”

Li Yuan then said a lot more, but he wouldn’t talk about the day Li Xiaoting died. “I don’t know what my sister went through outside, and I don’t know about the baby she had.”

Wang Qiang interrupted him, “Your sister was pregnant. Didn’t your parents try to find her?”

“My parents thought my sister was bad luck, embarrassed the family, and told me not to meet with her.”

“The last time I saw my sister was when I called her to come home while my parents weren’t around. That day, she didn’t say anything, just locked herself in her room.”

The pencil-written words slowly became clearer. Yi Yu quietly left the room and hurried to meet up with Xu Yi.
