“Don’t go, don’t go.” Xu Yi was awakened by a nightmare, his body suddenly lifting off the bed. Wang Qiang, who had been dozing, was snoring loudly.
Xu Yi struggled to get out of bed and opened the door, only to run into Li Xiaoming and Fei Ye. Upon seeing Xu Yi had gotten up, Li Xiaoming immediately woke Wang Qiang.
“How did you end up falling asleep first?” Li Xiaoming said.
Wang Qiang, still groggy, replied, “I fell asleep so quickly.”
Xu Yi spoke, his throat aching, “Where’s Yi Yu?”
“Turns out he’s not an NPC. He’s in the room next door,” Fei Ye gestured for Xu Yi to rest properly, and even Li Xiaoming pulled him back.
“Brother Xu.”
Xu Yi didn’t care what they said. He had to see Yi Yu. The door to the next room opened, and Yi Yu was lying on the bed. His originally pale face now looked sickly. Xu Yi was quickly pulled away.
The little girl was petite but strong. Her red face, tear-streaked, was striking as she furiously slapped Xu Yi.
“Give me back Zhao Zhen!”
The little girl had lost Zhao Zhen, and she was in pain. Xu Yi felt the same. The harder the little girl slapped, the more intense it became, until Li Xiaoming hit her pressure point, causing her to faint and fall into Li Hai’s arms.
Xu Yi grabbed Yi Yu’s hand, trying to warm it. “Is there really nothing we can do?”
“There is a way,” Li Hai said, gently setting the little girl down. “My character has a built-in divine doctor function.”
“Yi Yu was injured by a pig demon. If we can find the highest snow lotus on Pengsong Mountain, there’s still a slim chance—about 50%.”
“But the snow lotus on Pengsong Mountain only blooms once a year. And with the current winter conditions, it might be too late.”
Li Xiaoming knew Xu Yi would go. For Yi Yu, he wouldn’t give up, even if it meant the game would end for him.
After everyone left, Xu Yi lay next to Yi Yu. “You really started off pretty annoying, no sense of humanity, talking so coldly it’s like below zero.”
“But, you know, you said I should team up with you. I was happy about that. And you, when danger came, you went first—are you stupid or what?”
“If you hadn’t come to my side that day, I’d be the one lying here now.”
“Yi Yu, tell me, do you like me?”
At this point, Xu Yi’s tears started to fall, his voice trembling.
“I think I like you.”
Thinking back to everything, Xu Yi removed the ‘think’ and repeated it.
“I like you.”
“I’m a straight guy, how did you, a smelly rogue, manage to bend me?”
Finally, Xu Yi gently kissed Yi Yu’s pale lips. “Wait for me to come back. I’ll kiss you enough then.”
Before he left, Li Hai reminded Xu Yi, “Brother Xu, Yi Yu is still breathing. I’ve kept him alive with silver needles, but after seven days, I won’t be able to help anymore.”
“This means Yi Yu will be done for.”
Xu Yi spurred his horse forward, rushing to Pengsong Mountain. On the way, the system kept announcing the list of eliminated players, but Xu Yi didn’t hear the number he feared the most, number 01. He spent three days and finally reached the foot of the mountain.
Once in the Pengsong Mountain area, a cold gust hit him, and the higher he went, the stronger the winds. He tightly wrapped himself in his fur coat.
“Don’t give up.”
“Xu Yi, Yi the rogue is waiting.”
Xu Yi kept repeating these words as he walked through the snow-covered path, creating his own way.
The snow was deep, and Xu Yi’s legs sank into it. “In this immortal world, why don’t I have the skill to fly with a sword?”
His legs were almost numb, but then, a beam of sunlight, which hadn’t appeared in a thousand years, shone on the highest peak, lighting Xu Yi’s path ahead.
This was hope—the hope that nature had given him.
The snow lotus was located on the edge of a cliff. Xu Yi, gathering his strength, shielded his eyes and carefully placed the precious snow lotus into his clothes.
The descent drained Xu Yi’s energy. With two days left, he rested on the road, making it back on the final day.
Li Hai took the snow lotus, and Xu Yi fainted from exhaustion. He was too tired; he wanted to dream.
In the dream, Yi Yu was alive, smiling as he walked toward him. “Want to team up?”
Just as Xu Yi was about to drift off to sleep in his dream, a familiar voice called to him, “I’m awake. Don’t sleep anymore, okay?”
Opening his eyes, before Xu Yi could say anything, Yi Yu sealed his lips with his own. Xu Yi closed his eyes, willingly accepting it.
“You said you’d kiss me enough.”
“You heard that? Were you pretending?”
Xu Yi realized he couldn’t move at all, so he just lay in Yi Yu’s arms, grabbing Yi Yu’s hand and placing his own hand on top.
“From now on, we’ll walk together.”
Yi Yu responded with a simple “Okay.”
