I actually fell in love with my mortal enemy
I actually fell in love with my mortal enemy (END)

“Officer, what’s the meaning of dragging me in the moment I return to the country?” Fei Ye’s face hadn’t changed at all—only now they stood on opposite sides.

Xu Yi slapped three photos on the table, his voice angry. “All three people in these photos registered under your name at your clinic, and all died three months later.”

“Did you know about that?”

Fei Ye replied calmly, “What does that have to do with a psychologist like me?”

Beside them, the silent Yi Yu pulled out a photo of the mysterious symbol. “This symbol was also found at your clinic.”

“So?” Fei Ye shrugged. “Does it mean anything?”

“Judgment and redemption?” Yi Yu said before Fei Ye could reply. “You see yourself as a savior, brainwashing them. Isn’t that right?”

Fei Ye laughed. “Officer, now that’s unfair. That symbol? Sure, I drew it while bored at the clinic. It doesn’t mean anything.”

Forty-eight hours passed, and they still hadn’t gotten a confession out of Fei Ye.

The whole team worked through the night. Whenever Xu Yi felt drained, he leaned on Yi Yu to recharge. Yi Yu fiddled with the symbol in his hand, then suddenly said:

“Head to West City International. Now.”

The roads were clear. On the rooftop, Fei Ye stood with a mask on and a book raised in his hands.

“I am a savior.”

“I set them free, officer.”

Xu Yi raised his gun. “Fei Ye, you are now under arrest. Everything you say will be used as evidence in court.”

Fei Ye showed no fear. Instead, he shouted loudly, “I’m not guilty. The guilty ones are all those down there!”

“If those people hadn’t loudly judged Li Xiaoming as a crooked journalist while hiding behind masks, he wouldn’t have died.”

“If so-called ‘fans’ hadn’t hidden in Wang Qiang’s house, installed trackers on his car, called him at night just to laugh like demons—he wouldn’t have been crushed by depression and died.”

“As for Liu Ye, they say a talent needs someone to recognize them. I was that person. Only I understood his music.”

After laughing, Fei Ye suddenly grew serious. “Captain Xu, did you never wonder how you found me so quickly?”

“What if the person standing next to you is just like me? What expression would you make then?”

“The moment I saw Officer Yi, I knew—we were the same.”

Yi Yu raised his gun, cold and silent, facing the swaying Fei Ye at the edge of the rooftop.

Everything happened too fast—but Xu Yi still firmly grabbed Yi Yu’s hand and shouted:

“You’re nothing like him. He has me. I’ll give everything I have to keep him from falling into the abyss.”

In that instant, Fei Ye fell.

The players, now with all memories restored, raised their weapons and destroyed the machines. A flash of white light.

When Xu Yi woke up, Yi Yu was sleeping beside him.

“You had low blood sugar,” Yi Yu said.

Seeing his partner’s guilty expression, Xu Yi said, “My low blood sugar has nothing to do with you. But my sore waist—that’s definitely your fault.”

Outside, Ming Liang hesitated to knock on the door—something about the atmosphere inside felt too strange.

“I heard your whole conversation with Fei Ye that night.”

But Yi Yu’s eyes were focused on Xu Yi’s hand. “The ring.”

“Let’s get married,” Xu Yi said.

“Yes,” Yi Yu answered immediately.

End of the main story.
