I Am a Master, How Could I Not Know Chapter 1

Chapter 1: What a Disaster

The stone steps of Mount Ling wind along the cliffside.

The summit, towering into the clouds, is perpetually shrouded in mist. Only by parting the thick fog can one discover a hidden residence nestled here.

The house is modest, consisting of only three rooms arranged in three directions: the main room faces south, flanked by one room each to the east and west.

The roof is thatched, exuding an ancient and rustic simplicity.

The eaves are interconnected, extending to the courtyard gate, forming the shape of a square well when viewed from above.

In the center of the small courtyard sits a water vat, directly facing the southern gate.

Splash—

Heavy rain pours down like water cascading from the heavens.

The sky, darkened by the rain, takes on a grayish hue.

Knock! Knock!

Knock! Knock! Knock!

At this moment, the wooden gate of the courtyard is being urgently knocked.

“Is anyone there? Open up! Let us in to rest!”

It was a man’s voice, sounding harsh and rough.

But no matter how he knocked, there was no response.

Bang!

The man kicked open the wooden gate, intending to stride into the courtyard.

However, as soon as he lifted his foot, he froze in place, his eyes flashing with astonishment.

Before him, the three rooms and the courtyard above formed four streams of water, cascading like rivers into the vat in the courtyard.

This was a top-tier feng shui layout.

Heavenly blessings descended, Four Waters Returning to the Hall!

The man was stunned and couldn’t help but look around carefully.

Through the curtain of rain, he could see the door of the main room ahead was wide open.

Inside the hall, a strand of incense burned, its smoke dispersing but never dissipating, locked firmly within the room, creating a misty atmosphere.

Paired with the scene of Four Waters Returning to the Hall in the courtyard, the sight before him made one feel as if they were in a fairyland.

Just as the man was awestruck by the exquisite scene before him.

From the main room, a figure in white slowly emerged from the side room. The woman was tall, walking unhurriedly, exuding a relaxed and languid air.

Outside, the cold rain fell incessantly; inside, the light smoke curled upward.

The woman’s black hair slipped from her shoulders, swaying gently behind her.

The man’s heart suddenly leapt, and for no reason, he dared not breathe, waiting quietly as the woman slowly walked.

She walked slowly, with no one to hurry her, accompanied only by the sound of rain.

When she reached the center of the main room.

She turned and stood still.

Then she raised her eyes and looked outside the courtyard.

Directly at the rough man who had knocked and tried to barge in.

From his attire, it was clear he was a warrior—tall, with a robust build, and a large sword strapped to his back!

The woman glanced at him and then lowered her eyes, as if he were beneath her notice.

The cold rain poured down, the cascading water curtain obstructing the view. The woman stood amidst the incense smoke, appearing ethereal.

The man wiped his face and looked again, his heart racing.

What an otherworldly beauty!

Her snow-white robe in the dim, cool tones of the rainy scene, paired with her cold and aloof demeanor, made her seem like a being not of this mortal world.

The woman glanced at the man’s foot that had stepped inside the gate and spoke: “Is this appropriate?”

Her voice, like her demeanor, was cool with a hint of ethereality.

The man was taken aback. Appropriate? What was she talking about?

The woman continued in her icy voice: “Entering uninvited is inappropriate.”

The man grinned, not caring in the least, and even stepped both feet inside.

The woman, however, seemed weary. As she spoke, she lightly flicked her sleeve: “Leave, and close the door behind you.”

The man chuckled dismissively: “Miss, you must be joking—”

Before he could finish.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Several raindrops, like arrows shot from a bow, pierced through the water curtain in an instant, spinning with deadly force as they hurtled toward him!

The man couldn’t dodge in time and was instantly struck. The raindrops pierced through his clothes and exploded on his skin.

On his clothes, the traces of rainwater and blood blended together, resembling scattered red plum blossoms.

A stinging pain and a sense of fear surged in his heart!

The man was terrified, not daring to spare another glance. He immediately took a few steps back and quickly closed the courtyard gate.

Bang—

As the gate shut.

The man stumbled down the mountain, encountering a few fellow travelers seeking shelter from the rain on the stone steps. They were all dressed as warriors, with fierce and menacing appearances.

When they saw the bloodstains on the man’s chest, they were collectively shocked!

“Boss, what happened?”

“Where did the blood come from?!”

“The boss is in the Enlightenment Realm, who could possibly hurt him?”

“Who is in that thatched cottage?”

The man clutched his chest, still trembling with fear: “A master! Let’s go!”

He practically sprinted down the mountain, pulling open his shirt as he went, only to find numerous small holes on his body. They weren’t large, but they were continuously bleeding, as if he had been pricked by a bed of needles!

The group looked at the wounds in horror and confusion, unable to comprehend what had happened.

“We’ve never seen wounds like this, what kind of weapon caused them?”

“Could it be a hidden weapon?”

“But where is the weapon? It’s nowhere to be seen.”

There was clearly nothing on his skin, only the wounds that were bleeding.

The man shook his head in terror and said, “The raindrops were the weapon, injuring me without a trace!”

Now that he had calmed down, he recalled the details of the previous scene. The woman had merely raised her hand lightly, and the raindrops had shot towards him like hidden weapons, injuring him.

In fact, he hadn’t even seen how she had done it.

That woman must be a hidden master!

A martial arts grandmaster!

—————–

At the same time.

Standing in the center of the main hall, Xiao Ranshu sighed softly.

“Ah… I’m so hungry…”

Just moments ago, during the confrontation with the man, she had exuded an air of aloofness and authority, seemingly in control. In reality, she was simply too hungry to speak, and her slow movements were due to the same reason.

She was a modern person!

Who knew how a homebody like her had ended up in this body?

And what kind of place was this?

She had arrived on an empty stomach, and before she could even figure out the situation, a heavy rainstorm had started, making it impossible to go out.

Xiao Ranshu could only rummage around the house.

To her surprise, the original owner of this body seemed to be a cultivator or something?

There wasn’t even a single grain of rice, let alone any meat!

And living in a thatched cottage, no less.

She was so hungry, so hungry that she could only lie still and wait for the rain to stop.

Unexpectedly, someone knocked on the door, and they knocked urgently.

Xiao Ranshu was an ultimate introvert and had originally planned to pretend she wasn’t there, but the man was so rude that he barged in directly.

The sound of the door being kicked open was so loud and terrifying!

She had no choice but to drag her starving body up. No one knew how dizzy she felt as she walked from the side hall to the main hall. She was so hungry that every step felt like it was draining her life.

Finally, she made it to the main hall and observed the situation.

The man was not only rude but also looked extremely fierce, with a murderous aura.

How could she let someone so terrifying inside?

Xiao Ranshu certainly didn’t agree!

So she tried to reason with him, attempting to send him away.

Fortunately, the guy was only fierce in appearance and was actually quite reasonable. He left as soon as she asked, even politely closing the door behind him.

Gurgle, gurgle!

Her stomach was playing a symphony, drumming away.

She was so hungry she could eat a person, but she decided to continue lying down.

Xiao Ranshu took one last look at the small courtyard. It was poor, but the scenery during the rain was truly beautiful.

What was it called again?

Feng shui… Geomancy… Oh no, architectural landscape design.

A soul from the 21st century would never be superstitious!

While her thoughts wandered, Xiao Ranshu dragged her zombie-like body towards the side hall.

There wasn’t even a proper bed here, just a rough wooden platform that hadn’t been sanded, coarse and hard.

Besides enduring hunger, she also needed to figure out how to adapt to this new environment.

Good news: she had traveled through time.

Bad news: she had no memories.

Not a single piece of information was left behind. What on earth was she supposed to do?

She was starving…

How did the original owner die? Could it have been from poverty or starvation?

What a tragedy…
